The Sunday Night Heat intro plays and the fans inside the arena begin to cheer loudly, as the lights begin to flicker and spotlights cut through the crowd. As the shows intro ends, the camera pans around the arena and catches a few shots of rowdy fans who are cheering loudly. We cut to the commentary booth, where Beth Phoenix and Mauro Ranallo are ready to announce for the evening. MAURO RANALLO: Ladies and gentlemen, after a week off, we welcome you to another episode of Sunday Night Heat! I'm Mauro Ranallo joined as always by Beth Phoenix. And Beth, what an incredible show we saw last week in SummerSlam! BETH PHOENIX: You can say that again, Mauro! Diesel retained his WWE Championship against Corey Graves, Mankind retained his Intercontinental Championship against Adam Cole in a vicious cage match, and The Unholy Union became the first Women's Tag Team Champions of the new era! MAURO RANALLO: And while those moments were certainly huge, they don't compare to the most shocking moment of the entire evening! BETH PHOENIX: Oh! How could I forget? Maki Itoh won the first-ever Heatwave in a finale that was beyond dramatic! MAURO RANALLO: Well, yes, but that's what not I was referring to. I was referring to what happened in the main event when John Cena revealed himself to be the third person with The Young Bucks! BETH PHOENIX: Oh that! I am absolutely disgusted with him, Mauro. I've known John Cena for a long time, and this was the last thing I expected from him. He's gonna have a lot of explaining to do, and I'm hoping we'll hear from him tomorrow night on RAW. In the meantime, I'm curious to see what we can expect tonight now that Heatwave is over and Pat is still not answering my calls regarding food deliveries. I'm about to see if Joey Janela can just Uber Eats me some Taco Bell! Anyway, enough chitchat, we've got an exciting show for you all tonight so, let's go ahead and get another night of white hot action underway! The camera cuts away, as the fans and the rest of the WWE Universe await the first match of Sunday Night Heat.

"PFFT! I SPIT IN THE FACE OF PEOPLE WHO DON'T WANT TO BE COOL!" "Cool" by Jim Johnston hits as the Heat crowd turn their attention to the titantron area. After a few short moments, Carlito emerges from the back sporting a Hawaiian shirt to go along with the scowl plastered on his face. Behind him is the towering Jesús, clad in a pair of bright orange pants with matching suspenders. BETH PHOENIX: Oh no, someone call the fashion police. MAURO RANALLO: I'd be careful about what I said around a man who'd wear something like that in public! But it's great to see Carlito back inside a WWE ring and it looks like he's going to take part in tonight's opening contest! Carlito dismissively shakes his head at various fans who have their hands outstretched as the King of Cool walks down the ramp towards the ring. MIKE ROME: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Being accompanied to the ring by Jesús, from the Caribbean and weighing in at two-hundred and forty pounds… CARLITO! Carlito takes his time walking up the steps as his opponent (who's already in the ring) partakes in some last-minute stretching. MIKE ROME: And his opponent, already in the ring… MIKE SYDAL! Sydal waves to the fans, who give him a respectable round of applause. Carlito carefully takes off his shirt and hands it to Jesús, who casually throws it over his shoulder while he shouts at Sydal. MAURO RANALLO: I certainly don't like Mike Sydal's chances here, Beth. But I'm interested in seeing what kind of shape Carlito is in. He's no spring chicken anymore! BETH PHOENIX: I'll make sure to tell him you said that! CARLITO VS. MIKE SYDAL SINGLES MATCH The bell sounds as Sydal offers a handshake to Carlito, who looks at it with confusion. He asks Jesús what Sydal is doing but Jesús can only shrug his shoulders. Carlito does the same before seemingly accepting the handshake, only to pieface Sydal at the last second. Carlito laughs as Sydal responds by drilling the King of Cool with a superkick right on the button! Carlito tumbles to the mat as Sydal pounces on top for the cover! 1… 2… kickout! Sydal can't believe he didn't get 3 as the fans collectively gasp in shock that the upset almost happened -- not to mention in record time. Sydal lifts Carlito up and tries an Irish whip, but Carlito is strong enough to counter and send Sydal instead. Carlito hits Sydal on the rebound with a big back elbow that floors the smaller man. Carlito is still feeling the effects from that superkick as he shows his mouth to Jesús, asking for confirmation all his teeth are still intact. After Jesús reassures him they're all there, Carlito begins to put the boots to Sydal aggressively. After he's had enough of that, Carlito mounts Sydal and delivers a series of punches to the face. The referee has to physically remove Carlito from his opponent and warn him about closed fist strikes. Carlito picks Sydal up and slams him down to the canvas. He follows with a pretty springboard moonsault and covers. 1… 2… kickout! Carlito's seemingly had enough of Mike Sydal and calls for the finish. He lifts Sydal up and turns him around, looking for his patented Back Cracker. But as Carlito leaps up and grabs hold of Sydal's neck, Sydal wisely grabs the ropes nearby, causing Carlito to land on the mat back first! Sydal sees an opportunity and begins climbing to the top turnbuckle. As the referee checks on a loudly complaining Carlito, Jesús quickly reaches up and yanks on Sydal's leg, causing him to crotch himself on the top turnbuckle! The crowd boos as Jesús innocently walks away. Carlito sees the advantage has been created and pulls Sydal off the turnbuckle. He browbeats him for a moment or two before delivering a hard slap across the face. The impact turns Sydal around and Carlito quickly leaps and pulls Sydal backwards -- Back Cracker! Carlito hooks both legs but it's not needed as the referee counts the 1-2-3. WINNER CARLITO PINFALL | 3:17 MIKE ROME: Here is your winner… CARLITO! MAURO RANALLO: Well the headline is going to state that Carlito won this match but the story should include the fact that he nearly got beat in the opening seconds AND needed a little help from Jesús to get the job done! BETH PHOENIX: Maybe it's ring rust, maybe it's something else, but I'm sure the only thing Carlito will remember about this match is that he got the victory! The referee tries to raise Carlito's arm, but Carlito will not allow it as he tells the ref to beat it. Jesús enters the ring and is about to congratulate Carlito on his win, but Carlito says something to Jesús and points to Sydal. Jesús nods his head and grabs Sydal by his hair. He picks him up and easily gorilla presses him high into the air. Jesús holds Sydal up for a little while before slamming him down with authority. Carlito triumphantly puts a boot on Sydal's chest as he and Jesús both raises their arms in celebration. MAURO RANALLO: Now that was just completely unnecessary! Carlito already won the match! What was the point of that?! BETH PHOENIX: I think he's sending a message to both the WWE fans AND the superstars in the back! MAURO RANALLO: I think you might be right, Beth! And that message was sent with emphasis!

It was only moments before the show started at the arena. The cameras opened up into a packed backstage area. In this particular area was a merchandise stand, right next to a concession stand. The merchandise stand was filled with what appeared to be over thirty different shirts. There was just so much to choose from, understandable as well seeing as this was the start of the party after the summer and they wanted to show off to the world the wrestlers that have impressed. There was just so much to choose from, even now, two hours before show time the fans where lining up, buying all different kinds of merchandise, Megan Morant was there as well, walking down the line with a cameraman on her tail. They were getting shots and interviews from the fans that have arrived early, they line was getting busy as people wanted to grab the attention of Megan Morant. They wanted the chance to get onto television by nabbing an interview with this man. But at the end of the line was one of the more high profile stars, it was The Father of WWE, Christian Cage, he was dressed in a flashy suit as he stood at the back of the line, moving out of it for a moment as Megan Morant notices him, ignoring a fan that had just caught his attention, Megan Morant runs as fast as her legs could carry her, right up to Christian Cage. CHRISTIAN CAGE: Well, it is about damn time I got your attention, I have been standing here now for five minutes and you have just actually wasted my time by interviewing fans before me, the biggest superstar in WWE, forget everyone else, forget about the three guys who have their face slapped all over WWE, it is me, The Father who is the true superstar of this company and I bet you right now Megan Morant, that all these loyal fans are lining up to purchase my t-shirt! The father smirked as he motioned for the cameras to follow him, and they did. He had no respect for over half the line, as he cut right into the middle of the crowd, the camera right next to him. Everyone was looking on at him as he made the cameraman and to a far lesser extent Megan Morant follows him as he cuts the line again, wanting to get to the front as fast as possible, the fans where pushing and shoving as Christian Cage just forces his way through, the line separating as he has no regards about these fans, to him they were merely just in his way and he was going to get past them one way or another. MEGAN MORANT: Cage, wait a minute why are we even doing this, it seems like a waste of time if you ask me, I mean why are you pushing your way right to the front of the line, do you have no regards for these fans, some of which have been in the line for over an hour now waiting to get the merchandise that they want? CHRISTIAN CAGE: I want to prove a point here, I want you and all these people here to understand something. I am the only real star in this company, I can out wrestle anyone at all, it does not matter how big they are, or how small they are, it does not matter, I can out wrestle them, yet since I have put my name to a contract here, it has never been about me, it has been more about three other guys, three guys that properly have this stand packed out with their rubbish. It is all about The Young Bucks and the very untalented John Cena. These three think they are the biggest superstars in this company and we are not even started the first show after summer, this is the first week of a new start and those three think they are the best. Do not make me laugh, it is me, Christian Cage that is going to remain the biggest name and also at the same time the face of this company. He moves to the front of the line, even shoving some small children out of the way as he reaches the front of the line, the cameraman and Megan Morant right behind him as Christian Cage eyes glance down and all he can see is t-shirts for the young bucks, John Cena and even Jey Uso, there was even Mankind gear there, yet there was nothing there for him, they were only selling for the superstars they believe can draw money and the crowds and Christian Cage has just been left empty handed. A few laughs break out as Christian Cage would grab some of the t-shirts and toss them to the ground in anger and frustration. MEGAN MORANT: Cage, I am sorry to have to tell you this, but it seems like there is nothing of yours here. CHRISTIAN CAGE: I am the biggest name in this company, I am the best damn wrestler here, I am the man that is going to win his match here tonight against Ryzin and move on to improve my career, this is a pure joke! As the camera cuts to the arena, to prove his point that without a shadow of a doubt, he was the main man around here. MEGAN MORANT: I am sorry Cage I really am, but it seems that none of your stuff is here, and I really got to go, I got interviews to conduct with some other wrestlers…. CHRISTIAN CAGE: Are you actually serious here, you are blowing me, ME OF ALL PEOPLE OFF! Your insane girl, you really are. I was about to give you the interview of a life time and you are just going to leave. You are a complete idiot, you know, that right? But I want you to do something for me, I know you are going to be doing the rounds today, I know that you are going to waste good tape time on the lesser superstars and you are going to run into Ryzin sooner or later so I want you to give him something from me. He looks down at the stand and he spots one of Ryzin photos, priced at literally one dollar, Christian Cage digs deep into his pocket and hands out a dollar and he gets the photo, he then takes a pen out and signs it with his own name, writing ‘Christian Cage is better than you.’ He smirks lightly as he then hands the photo to Megan Morant. CHRISTIAN CAGE: Give that to him, after I defeat him tonight that is going to be worth something, it will help him fund whatever crap he is doing on the side, like killing animals or preaching about his cult or whatever he is into, he is going to need the money because after tonight, he is done being in this ring, he has no place here anymore, he said he was retired so now I have to make sure he stays good on his word, Ryzin will be finished tonight and not just him, this eight here, is a new start and with it, comes a new father, a man that will begin to make improvements going forward to take back everything that he has lost. The cameras fade to black as Christian Cage walks out of the line, leaving Megan Morant with the signed photo as we cut to commercial. Christian Cage VS. Ryzin SINGLES OR TAG MATCH Both men stand toe-to-toe in the middle of the ring, and lock up, the stronger Ryzin grapples Cage into the corner and grinds away at Christian, landing a few strong knees to the ribs, and then a forceful DDT. Ryzin makes the cover, but only gets a quick two count. Ryzin picks Cage up again, whipping him off the ropes and attempting a shoulder block; but gets hit a flying clothesline! Followed a elbow drop across the chest. Cage seems to determined to win as he climbs to the top rope, he launches himself at Ryzin, who has gotten back to his feet; he lands on the shoulders of him, and nails the hurricarana, and the heat superstar goes face first off the turnbuckle! Cage grabs the back of a stumbling Ryzin, and nails a huge reverse DDT! Cage doesn't make the cover, as he sees the chance to hit a high risk move; Cage makes his way to the top rope and Frog Spl… Ryzin rolls out of the way! Ryzin makes the cover on a downed Cage; 1…2… Cage kicks out! Ryzin allows Cage to drag himself to his feet, and lands a huge kick to the chest! He drags Christian to his feet and throws him into the corner with force, and he then charges at him and attempts a corner dropkick, but Cage moves out the way. Christian then manages to pick up Ryzin , and nail the Kill Switch! Cage makes the cover; 1...2...3
WINNER Christian Cage PINFALL | 4:24 And just like that, it was all said and done, just like he had sworn to do, the father had won the match, hand raised into the air, a smirk on his face as well, as he stares forward and winks right at the camera, knowing that this match and this week, he was going to turn everything around for himself and improve on everything he has lost this year.

The cameras cut to the backstage area where we meet Lola Vice mid-conversation with some of the Heat girls. Tonight, she’s dressed to kill in a gold sequined mini-dress, tape leaks out the top of her right shoulder, a signal that her arm is still healing from the injury she sustained a few weeks ago in her match against Dakota Kai on Raw. Lola sounds frustrated as she speaks, but she stays calm.
LOLA VICE: You know, I thought I had it. I was this close to snatching that Money in the Bank briefcase for myself. If it wasn’t for her targeting my arm the way she did, I would’ve been standing here now not only as a briefcase holder, but as a champion. Dakota got lucky, plain and simple.
The girls around her nod in agreement, offering supportive murmurs.
KILYNN KING: Yeah, it was a tough watch. But hey, you did knock her out the first time around.
VIVA VAN: At least you found a way to dodge the Dawn Marie bullet in your final chase for the case.
LOLA VICE: Well, we all got lucky with dodging that one. The last thing any of us need is to get caught up in her games.
Lola’s phone suddenly beeps, catching her attention. She glances at it quickly and shifts her energy, turning her back on the girls as she starts to gather her things.
KILYNN KING: Where are you going? Your trainer will be here to work on that arm soon.
LOLA VICE: Tell him I’ll be back, I've got something to take care of.
DANI JORDYN: Something more important than physio? What is it, a red carpet event or something?
Lola turns to the group and with a playful smirk on her lips, she slings her bag over her good shoulder.
LOLA VICE: Something like that.
VIVA VAN: Can we come? We could use a night out.
LOLA VICE: Sorry, girls. Invitations only.
Lola walks out of the locker room leaving the girls exchanging puzzled looks. The scene ends leaving the group and the WWE Universe wondering what Lola might be up to…
