Sunday Night Heat 11-3-2024

MAURO RANALLO: Seems as though we are getting started tonight with The Glorious B’s in action.

BETH PHOENIX: This group still kind of freaks me out a bit. I’ve seen documentaries on Netflix about groups like this.

MAURO RANALLO: I don’t think I know what you’re referring to. Tiger King?

BETH PHOENIX: Mauro, you’re so out of touch.

MIKE ROME: Our opening contest is set for one fall. Introducing first, representing The Glorious B’s, from Columbus, Ohio, Alexa Bliss! And her opponent, already in the ring, Zeda Zhang!

BETH PHOENIX: I do love that outfit Alexa has on. White is a great color on her.



This is Alexa Bliss’ first action back in the ring in quite some time. She’s had some varied directions in her career and had varied levels of success with those directions. Aligning herself with Bobby Roode and the rest of the Glorious B’s might be a last ditch effort for her to have a modicum of success in her career. There are detractors though when it comes to the B’s. People aren’t so willing to think it’s a serious career trajectory for anyone involved with the group but they seem to have one another’s back. For what it’s worth, the men of The Glorious B’s have immersed themselves into the WWE roster and appear to have their sights set on Tommy End and more so now, the Intercontinental Title on Monday night. With Alexa Bliss being a former women’s champion in her own right, she could potentially make some noise in the women’s division as well if she can get back on track. A win here tonight against Zeda Zhang is a good first step. The referee checks with both women and they say they’re ready. The ref calls for the bell and this one is underway.

MAURO RANALLO: Here we go, Sunday Night Heat is officially underway.

BETH PHOENIX: You remember when Pat McAfee used to deliver food to us every week? Those were good times.

MAURO RANALLO: Sunday Night Heat has had some wild stuff happen over the course of this year.

The two come and lock up and Bliss gets Zhang into an arm lock, twisting it and holding it uncomfortably out of place. Zhang rolls forward and stands back up, twisting her arm and wrangling it free from Bliss. Zeda shoves Bliss right in the chest, knocking her back into the ropes but Alexa bounces off of them, rushing back towards Zhang and drives a forearm into her face and chest area. Zhang holds her chest and Alexa quickly grabs her, hoisting her up and down with a bodyslam. Bliss goes out onto the apron and climbs up to the top rope, taking flight and hitting a flying crossbody onto Zhang and pinning her down to the mat! She hooks the leg! 1…2…No! Zhang gets a shoulder up!

BETH PHOENIX: Small but mighty, Mauro. Imagine if Bliss had that speed and my size.

MAURO RANALLO: Alexa’s size definitely works in her advantage sometimes.

Zeda tries to climb back to her feet but Alexa is already up and grabbing her by the hair. Alexa has Zhang still by the hair and whips her into the corner. As Zeda’s back smacks the corner, Alexa is right there and drilling her with a clothesline. Zhang stumbles out of the corner and Alexa hops up on the second rope behind her, taking flight and driving Zeda’s head into the mat with a bulldog! Zhang is holding her head and struggling as again, Bliss heads out to the apron and up to the top rope. Bliss sits on the top turnbuckle, waiting for Zhang to turn around and when she does, Bliss takes flight, putting her legs on each side of Zeda’s head and driving her into the mat with a diving meteora! Zeda is out! Bliss goes for the pin! 1…2…3! It’s over!



MAURO RANALLO: Well there you go! A nice win for Alexa Bliss!

BETH PHOENIX: She’s still got it, Mauro. Look out women’s division. Alexa Bliss is back.

MAURO RANALLO: And she’s walking the path of the lord, Beth.

BETH PHOENIX: I don’t know if that will hinder her or benefit her but I’m interested to see how it leads Bliss.
