War Games Comes to Survivor Series!
This Sunday, we will see a showdown for the ages when Adam Page, John Cena, Matt Jackson, and Matt Menard of the nWo Elite take on the team of Kenny Omega, Mankind, CM Punk, and Stevie Richards. Tensions between the nWo Elite and the WWE locker room have been building for months since the renegade group made themselves known at SummerSlam, and now it's time to see just who the superior team really is. And with so much animosity between the two teams, a regular Survivor Series match isn't enough to contain it. And that's why WWE.com can exclusively report that the match between Team nWo Elite and Team WWE this Sunday will be none other than a War Games Match! For those who may not know about this brutal match, here's a rundown of the rules:
War Games Match Rules
1. One member from each team will start the match by entering the double cage. Which team member starts, as well as the order of the rest of the team after that, is usually decided by the captain/manager. It will be 1 vs 1 for the opening period of the match, lasting five minutes. At the 5:00 mark, a new wrestler will enter the cage – - but only one.
2. Whichever of the two teams wins the advantage will be able to send in a team member, making the match 2 vs 1 for two minutes. The advantage can be decided by a coin toss, a match between members of the two sides in the build-up to War Games, or some other manner.
3. After that 2:00 period, the other team will send in their second wrestler, evening things back up at 2vs2. After another two minutes, the first team makes it 3vs2, then 3vs3, and so on and so forth with the advantage team always going first. Once everybody from both sides has entered the cage, the match then "officially" begins.
4. It is not until everybody in the match has entered the cage that the match can actually be won or lost.
5. At this stage, the two sides (or given the brutality of the match, what’s left of them) attempt to score a victory. This can be done via pinfall or submission. There are no disqualifications, no count outs, no rules. After all, as the saying goes, "All is fair in love and war."
This is sure to be one for the ages, so be sure to tune in this Sunday to Survivor Series to see which team reigns supreme once and for all!
