Monday Night RAW
May 13, 2024
Legacy Arena
Birmingham, Alabama
As the opening video package ends, pyro explodes on the stage as the crowd in Birmingham, Alabama is erupting in cheers. The cameras pan through the crowd, showing off various signs reading things like “Rocky Eats Corn The Long Way!”, “Prince Nana Put Me In This Seat!”, “Hayter Hits Harder!” and more. After doing a pan of the Legacy Arena, the cameras settle in on the commentary table where we see the team of Michael Cole and Wade Barrett.
MICHAEL COLE: Welcome everybody to Monday Night RAW! I’m Michael Cole and sitting alongside me, as always, is my broadcast partner, Wade Barrett.
WADE BARRETT: I’m sure it’s not just the action people are looking forward to tonight, because there’s a lot of questions that need answering. Like what is Jay White thinking after being unceremoniously beaten last week by Maxwell Jacob Friedman?
MICHAEL COLE: Well, he’s certainly not going to be happy about it, I can tell you that Wade. Speaking of things I’d like to discuss, how about that awkward conversation between Triple H and Sami Zayn? I think by now everybody has gone back to watch the hesitation on that three count when he won the Intercontinental Championship.
WADE BARRETT: Maybe the lights were in his eyes? We don’t know what the situation was during the match Cole, Sami should just be glad he’s holding that Intercontinental Championship. Our Co-Owner doesn’t need to be questioned about something that’s in the past, move on Sami it’s a much healthier option than to mess with one of the bosses.
MICHAEL COLE: I’ll tell you about a man who is very happy with the boss's decisions, Corey Graves. Last week he came out here against three other men and came out victorious in his first match in over a decade.
WADE BARRETT: This week he’s going to have the fight of his life though, he’s taking on The People’s Champion, The Final Boss; The Rock. If anybody thinks he’s coming back to WWE with anything but victory on his mind, I’m sure he’s eager to prove everyone wrong.
MICHAEL COLE: Dominik Mysterio and Matt Sydal have a chance to make some waves as well. Both men have yet to prove themselves but as we both know, it’s only a matter of time before something sparks for them.
WADE BARRETT: I’ll tell you what Cole, Sydal certainly has been putting in a valiant effort. Christian also has his Patriarchy members in a tag match this week and they may be making waves in the tag team division if they can beat Moustache Mountain tonight. The Young Bucks and Punk and Richards are gonna have to keep their eyes open because they might not be the only game in town!
MICHAEL COLE: And if you want a contender in the making, Jade Cargill is the woman to keep your eyes on. It’s only a matter of time before she’s challenging either Becky Lynch or Serena Deeb for their championships. She had an impressive win over a very game Fallon Henley last week but this week she’s going to have to go through Maxxine Dupri, who’s looking to redeem herself after Dakota Kai pinned her to win the triple threat match last week!
WADE BARRETT: Diesel is looking for a little payback this week and he’s got his old pal Michaels to back him up! Never did I imagine in a million years we’d be seeing those two wrestling together again as a tag team unit. This type of stuff only happens in the WWE, Cole.
MICHAEL COLE: It sure does, Wade! And with Diesel wanting another shot at Swerve Strickland, you have to imagine that the WWE Champion will be keeping a close eye on this match to make sure his business associates take care of his Diesel problem once and for all.
WADE BARRETT: Well, after the last match Strickland and Diesel had, I’m more than ready to see the second in that series of matches if it can happen. Our WWE Tag Team Champions are going to be taking on some new challengers tonight in Jace University. Will the Young Bucks manage to keep themselves on top or will the schoolboys manage to find the answer to what it takes to beat them?
MICHAEL COLE: If they can beat our WWE Tag Team Champions you have to imagine that’ll put them in a good spot at getting an opportunity in the future. All this and more tonight on WWE Monday Night RAW, let’s get to the action Wade!
Bullet Club Red’s music hits the P.A. system, and the crowd comes to their collective feet as Jay White appears at the top of the ramp. He doesn’t have a grin or smile or any kind of positive look on his face as he starts to head down the ramp.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Ladies and gentlemen please welcome, Switchblade Jaaay Whiiite!
MICHAEL COLE: And we’re kicking off RAW in a big way! Last week we saw Jay White get attacked after his match by Maxwell Jacob Friedman!
WADE BARRETT: Jay White has had his run-ins with management as of late, and it seems as though they’ve picked MJF as their personal representative in their dealings with him.
MICHAEL COLE: Well, be that as it may, Jay White looks none too happy out here tonight.
WADE BARRETT: He won his match, I’m not sure what he’s so mad about.
MICHAEL COLE: Probably the post-match attack I just mentioned.
WADE BARRETT: Life is much easier when you don’t hold grudges like that, Cole!
White gets to the bottom of the ramp and goes up the steel steps to the apron and enters the ring. He walks over to Samantha Irvin who hands him the microphone with a smile before exiting the ring. As his music fades, Jay walks to the center of the ring and waits for the crowd to die down before bringing the microphone up to his mouth.
JAY WHITE: I know for a fact that Maxwell Jacob Friedman isn’t here tonight on RAW, which I find to be rather fascinating. Management seems to have a problem with any instance where Jay White has to miss a show for whatever reason. Yet, MJF is allowed to come and go as he pleases week in and week out with no sense of punishment or repercussions. Wonder why that is?
The crowd boos at the mere mention of MJF as Jay White continues on.
JAY WHITE: Of course, we all know the reason. MJF has seemingly been handpicked by Stephanie McMahon to - -
He puts his hands up to do finger quotation marks.
JAY WHITE: - - “deal with” the Jay White problem that they’re having. So, MJF is being sent to deal with this little problem of theirs. And I’ll be honest with each and every one of you out here tonight and everyone watching at home. I honestly don’t know what their problem is with me. I don’t know what the issue stems from or how it got as bad as it is. I’ve come out here and busted my butt week in and week out. This place has already seen its fair share of people come and go but I’m still here. Bullet Club Red is still here.
The crowd cheers at that.
JAY WHITE: I haven’t had the level of success I’ve wanted to have so far, and I’ll be the first to admit that. That being said, Bullet Club Red is still the premier group and faction of WWE. So, while MJF isn’t here tonight, Jay White and the rest of Bullet Club Red very much is here!
Again, a large cheer from the crowd.
JAY WHITE: I didn’t come out here just to state the fact that we are present in the arena tonight, though. No, that was not the goal. I came out here tonight to skip a few steps in this whole process with MJF. You see, I know where this one is going to end up and I’m just feeling a bit anxious to get it to that point. So, Maxwell, let’s make it official and get it set in stone. Unforgiven, you and me, one on one. You might have the backing of management, but I have the backing of every person in this arena tonight and all around the world. Isn’t that right, Birmingham?
The crowd cheers again, the loudest they’ve cheered all night.
JAY WHITE: Oh, and Max…don’t bother responding on something like Twitter or X or Instagram or whatever you choose to do your posting on these days. I don’t have any kind of social media. I’d prefer to get my answer face to face, if you’re man enough to do that anyway. But remember this, Max, and remember it well if you decide to accept that match. You’re gonna be stepping in that ring with Bullet Club Red and the thing about Bullet Club Red is…you’re red ‘til you’re dead and I don’t plan on going away any time soon, Max.
Bullet Club Red’s music hits once again as we cut backstage to see WWE Women’s Champion and Bullet Club Red member Serena Deeb watching Jay White speak on one of the backstage monitors. She has a big grin on her face and mutters under her breath to herself.
SERENA DEEB: That’s what I’m talking about.
DAKOTA KAI: Is this how you like to spend your time? Gushing over your pretty boy leader calling people out? Seems like at least Jay White has the right idea when it comes to that. You’re just sitting on your hands waiting for something to happen. Kinda weak for a “champion”...
Deeb turns her full attention to Dakota Kai now.
SERENA DEEB: Listen, I don’t know what your problem is with me, but I think it’s just a matter of us getting off on the wrong foot. I have a ton of respect for - -
DAKOTA KAI: Can it, champ! I don’t need your respect. Respect doesn’t win you titles. You talk about us getting off on the wrong foot? What is wrong with you? Tiffany Stratton was right; you don’t even act like a champion. All these women back here put a target on your back, and you’re out here trying to shake their hands and tell them you respect them. Do you see how pathetic that is?
Deeb takes a step towards Kai now, their faces getting close to one another and a shared look of intensity on both their faces.
SERENA DEEB: Not everyone is a disrespectful little prick like you are. Maybe if you were a little more respectful, you might get a chance at this gold - -
She holds the WWE Women’s Championship out towards Kai who looks over at it and then back at Deeb.
SERENA DEEB: Maybe you just need the respect beaten into you.
Kai snickers.
DAKOTA KAI: Why don’t you put your money where your mouth is then? Unforgiven. May 26th.
SERENA DEEB: I’m not one to back down from a challenge. Not from you, not from anyone.
DAKOTA KAI: This isn't a challenge, champ. This is a guarantee that May 26th will be the last time you ever hold the WWE Women’s Championship for the rest of your life. As long as I'm around, you won't have a chance of getting close to it ever again.
SERENA DEEB: You’ll fall just like every other challenger that has stood across that ring from me. You’re not as special as you think you are.
DAKOTA KAI: Oh, you’re right about that. I’m way more special than I think I am. I am the future of this division. I’m the future of the WWE. I am the woman who will finally put Serena Deeb in her place. Who else can say that?
Deeb turns to walk away with an annoyed and disgusted look on her face. She only makes it a few steps when THWACK! A loud smack is heard, and Dakota Kai has driven a steel chair right into the back of Serena Deeb! She doesn’t go for any more damage, but just stands over her with the steel chair still in her hand, staring down at the champion.
MICHAEL COLE: Dakota Kai has just attacked Serena Deeb with that steel chair! What was that all about!? Deeb gave her what she wanted!
WADE BARRETT: Perhaps a warning shot of what’s to come?
MICHAEL COLE: Deeb accepted her match at Unforgiven and then Kai attacked her when her back was turned!
WADE BARRETT: Cole, you don’t turn your back on someone like Dakota Kai. Deeb just learned that the hard way!
MICHAEL COLE: Absolutely sickening actions by Dakota Kai, who is now going to challenge Serena Deeb for the Women’s Championship at Unforgiven. But folks, now we have to move on because it’s time to get ready for our first match of the night! Last week on Monday Night RAW, we saw an absolute war between four men, each of them looking to prove themselves in the New Era.
WADE BARRETT: Too true, Cole, but we have to mention the winner of that match: Corey Graves! A man who sat on the sidelines for the past ten years finally got his chance to step in the spotlight once more, and did so with resounding success.
MICHAEL COLE: That he did, Wade. I might not always get along with Corey, but you can’t deny that he hasn’t lost a step in all this time! Now, we’re going to see if he can keep up his momentum as he faces the biggest challenge in his career thus far…he’s going one-on-one with none other than The Rock, who made his huge return to RAW last week and announced that he’s back with the WWE on a full time basis!
”Christcontrol” by Cancer Killing Gemini begins to play through the sound system, and the crowd pops as Corey Graves emerges at the top of the ramp wearing a cocky smirk.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: The following contest is scheduled for one-fall! Making his way to the ring, The Savior of Misbehavior COREEEY GRAAAVES!
As Corey makes his way down the ramp, the camera follows his slow, determined path. Reaching the bottom of the ramp, he slowly walks over to the steel steps, making his way up to the apron and stepping into the ring. Walking to the center, he raises his arms confidently in the air as the fans cheer for him again before lowering them and taking off his jean vest, dropping it over to the ringside attendant as he looks towards the entrance area, taking a deep breath as he rolls his shoulders in preparation for what’s to come.
WADE BARRETT: Corey’s looking like a million bucks tonight, Cole!
MICHAEL COLE: I hope he’s feeling like it too, because he’s got his work cut out for him tonight, going toe-to-toe with - -
Michael Cole gets cut off as “Hollywood” hits and the lights shut down. After a moment, blue spotlights switch on and swing towards the stage, illuminating The Rock. The crowd erupts in boos as the People’s Champion glances at the crowd surrounding him, seemingly basking in their hatred, before his eyes focus on his opponent.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: And his opponent, from Miami, Florida. Weighing in at 260 pounds. He is the Final Boss…THE ROOOCK!
MICHAEL COLE: The Rock looks like he means business here tonight!
WADE BARRETT: Well of course he does, Cole! The Rock is a busy man, and he’s stuck here on a Monday night? He could be making another blockbuster!
The Rock confidently strides down the ramp, goes up the steel steps onto the apron and steps through the ropes and eyes Graves across the ring before going over to the corner and climbing up, raising a fist in the air as the crowd continues to boo. After a moment, he steps back down to the mat and he slips off his shades and tosses them to the ringside attendant before the bell rings.
SINGLES MATCH
The bell rings and the two men just stand there, facing each other down. After a moment, The Rock slowly raises his right hand, holding it out to offer Graves a handshake!
MICHAEL COLE: A rare show of sportsmanship from the People’s Champion!
WADE BARRETT: Not everyone from Hollywood is evil, you know!
Graves eyes the hand suspiciously, before looking up to The Rock’s face. The Final Boss gives the Savior of Misbehavior a nod, and shakes his hand in a ‘go for it’ manner. After a moment, Graves tentatively reaches out to accept the shake…and eats a vicious open-handed slap to the jaw, staggering him!
MICHAEL COLE: My God, the sound that made! Did you hear that?!
WADE BARRETT: Cole, I felt that!
The crowd pelts The Rock with boos, and there’s murder in Graves’ eyes. He stares The Rock down for a second, checking with his right hand to make sure he’s not bleeding before firing back with a left hand of his own! Just like that, the fight’s on, as the two men begin trading blows! After a few exchanges, The Rock winds back for a haymaker, but Graves ducks it! The former commentator drops his head and surges forward! The Rock hasn’t turned around in time to avoid the chop block! The People’s champion drops to a kneel, clutching his knee. Unfortunately, he’s in the perfect position for a snap DDT! The Rock is down and Graves goes for the cover. 1…quick kick out by The Rock!
MICHAEL COLE: Graves is looking great out there tonight!
WADE BARRETT: He is, but he’s been out of the business too long if he thinks he can put The Rock out that easily!
Graves shakes his head and moves to grab his fallen opponent and lift him up, only to get rolled up into a small package! 1…2…Graves kicks out and rolls away, coming to land with his back against the turnbuckle, looking a little shaken. The Rock kips up and showboats to the crowd, and the displeasure doesn’t seem to faze him one bit as he makes the circle, his arms outstretched. His back is turned for a moment, and Graves uses the corner ropes to pull himself up and launches himself for a second chop block, only to run into a clothesline from The Final Boss! The Rock looks left, and right, before looking directly into the ringside camera.
WADE BARRETT: I think The Rock’s looking to end it already!
Sure enough, The Great One tugs off the elbow pad and throws it into the crowd! He hits one rope, and then the other…People’s Elbow! NOBODY’S HOME! Graves rolls out of the way at the last possible second, letting The Rock crash down hard on his arm and rolls, clutching it. That moment of weakness is all it takes as Graves grips the arm and pulls it into an arm bar! He’s got it locked in!
The Rock writhes, trying to pull his arm loose, but Corey keeps the hold clamped down hard. From ringside, Paul Heyman shouts encouragement and slaps his hand on the apron, trying to help his client summon the energy to fight out. The official asks The Rock if he’s tapping, but he shakes his head furiously. Slowly he starts to rise, gritting his teeth through the pain, and leans down to grab the wrist Graves has cinched in. The crowd boos as The Rock struggles to pull himself free.
MICHAEL COLE: The Rock’s picking him up! He’s deadlifting Corey Graves!
WADE BARRETT: Graves is in a world of trouble!
Corey can’t hear Barrett, but he doesn’t need to. He knows what’s about to happen, he just doesn’t have time to stop it! The Rock’s powerful muscles strain to hold up the two-hundred pound Pittsburgh native, and for a moment it looks like he’s going to give way. Suddenly, he slams Graves down in a brutal makeshift powerbomb!
MICHAEL COLE: We might need a medic out here!
WADE BARRETT: It could be another ten years before we see him in a ring again!
Graves’ back arches and he writhes in pain, but he’s not the only one hurting. The Rock grips his forearm, trying to massage the pain away, but he knows he doesn’t have time. He drops into the cover! 1…2…KICK OUT AT 2.5! The Rock looks at the official in disbelief, but the ref confirms the two count. The People’s Champion rises and delivers several sharp, furious kicks to the former announcer’s midsection. The crowd boos him, but The Rock is lost in his anger. He grabs Graves and drags him into a standing position, shouting words we can see but can’t make out through the crowd. Finally, The Rock grabs him by the wrist and delivers an Irish whip into the corner! Graves is stunned against the turnbuckle and can do nothing as the Brahma Bull stalks his prey from behind. The Rock delivers a sharp jab to Graves’ back, working that injured spine. Several punches land with a meaty ‘thwack’ that can be heard even over the crowd. Then the Rock backs up and bends down as he adjusts his kneepad; when he comes up, his face is lit up with malice.
MICHAEL COLE: Oh Rock, no no no, what are you doing?! That could break his back!
WADE BARRETT: The Final Boss is tired of playing games!
The Rock takes off at a run and leaps, bringing his knee up for a strike – NOBODY HOME! Corey Graves evades at the very last second! The Final Boss crashes into the ringpost at full speed and stumbles back, clutching his knee. He stumbles as he turns and nearly falls, only to land directly into Corey Graves’ arms! Dragon Screw! Graves keeps hold of the leg and begins the transition into the inverted figure-four he calls the Lucky 13! The Rock thrashes trying to keep him from getting it locked in! Desperate, he draws his foot back and delivers a sharp boot to Graves, then another! After the third, Graves releases and slams back hard! He might’ve not gotten it fully cinched in, but it still did some damage to that bad wheel! The Rock starts to rise but stumbles when he puts his weight back on it. Graves rises to his feet, and the two men trade right hands. One, two, three times! Graves takes his swing but The Rock ducks…he’s got him! He’s looking for the Rock Bottom! The Final Boss hefts Graves up – he falters!
MICHAEL COLE: Graves has been targeting that knee all night! I’m not sure it can support both men, that’s over four hundred pounds!
The moment lasts just long enough for Graves to deliver a sharp elbow to The Rock’s collar! Another! The Rock is forced to drop him, and Graves seizes his moment! He plants his knee in the Rock’s bread basket! The Rock doubles over, and Graves grabs him, pulling him into the back-to-belly piledriver he calls the MK Ultra! He goes for the cover! 1…2…3! Corey Graves had done it again!
WINNER
COREY GRAVES
07:32 via PINFALL
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Here is your winner, COREY GRAAAAAVES!
MICHAEL COLE: Corey Graves just beat The Rock! He just beat the People’s Champion!
WADE BARRETT: What an upset! Graves had some near misses, but after a win like that, I think he’s proven to everyone that he’s one to watch in this new era.
The official has Corey Graves hand raised in the middle of the ring as the crowd roars their approval. He turns, only to be blindsided as Carmella, having just slid through the ropes, catches him into a tight hug. The pair climb through the ropes and down the stairs together, leaving The Rock clutching his head while a worried Paul Heyman kneels over him, making sure he’s okay.
The cameras go to the backstage area where we see one of the newest tag teams in WWE, the Motor City Machine Guns. The two teammates are currently just walking down the hallway, deep in conversation.
CHRIS SABIN: I know that Heat went well for us and gave us a debut win but we've got to make an impact here on RAW now. That's the next step.
ALEX SHELLEY: Yeah, question is... how do we go about that?
Chris shrugs his shoulders.
CHRIS SABIN: Actually wrestle a match on the show?
ALEX SHELLEY: Duh.
CHRIS SABIN: I guess standing out around here can be more difficult than we bargained for.
ALEX SHELLEY: Sure, it's not the best start. But, I mean, it's not like we're the only ones who have to go without this week. Take uh...
He looks across to see Dakota Kai, who is walking nearby, and vaguely motions towards her. She just shoots him an unimpressed look.
ALEX SHELLEY: I mean, not that you can't get a spot. You've been doing really well but this week is uh - -
DAKOTA KAI: What the hell are you on about?
ALEX SHELLEY: …I don't know.
DAKOTA KAI: Then shut up.
Dakota stares daggers at him before storming off. Alex just turns away and back to Chris, who is shaking his head.
CHRIS SABIN: Smooth.
ALEX SHELLEY: My point was that even the top dogs around here have to really earn their place. We'll get there. We can't just expect it to all fall into place. We're no strangers to hard work. It's just going to be a case of working towards it and if two people here can really show off their tenacity and determination, it's us.
CHRIS SABIN: That ended up surprisingly uplifting in the end.
ALEX SHELLEY: Thanks, I try.
He says with a proud smile before he turns and walks off, with Chris Sabin slowly following behind.
We now go to another area backstage to see the always a-dork-able Byron Saxton.
BYRON SAXTON: Ladies and gentlemen, my guest at this time - Prince Nana and the WWE Champion, Swerve Strickland!
The camera zooms out to reveal the two aforementioned men, both standing to Saxton’s right. Nana is closest, acting like a barrier between Swerve and Saxton almost. The Champ, as always, is dressed in nothing but the best - with the WWE Championship being the piece that pulls everything together.
BYRON SAXTON: Now, Swer-
SWERVE STRICKLAND: It’s amusing still, Saxton, that you think this is the relationship we have. That you can just talk to me.
PRINCE NANA: What do you want with the Champion, eh?
Nana further inserts himself between Saxton and Swerve, but… what the hell is Saxton doing? He begins fiddling with his ear piece, and holds a finger up to Nana.
BYRON SAXTON: Actually, I-uh… one second. I’ve got Stephanie McMahon in my ear piece.
PRINCE NANA: Wait, what? You’ve got who?
That piques Swerve’s interest, his eyes narrowing. Nana begins to rant, but Swerve hushes him with a look.
BYRON SAXTON: Yes ma’am, right away.
PRINCE NANA: What the heck is going on here, huh?! Huh?! What trick are you trying to pull?
BYRON SAXTON: Some decorum, please! Mrs, McMahon has given me the pleasure of announcing that there has actually been a change to Diesel and Shawn Michaels versus Oba Femi and Will Hobbs here tonight.
PRINCE NANA: Let me guess, one of the old timers pulled a hamstring on their way to the bathroom this morning?
Nana laughs and looks to Swerve for approval, who doesn’t budge. Saxton gives a small smile, obviously about to take so much joy in what comes next.
BYRON SAXTON: Funny, but not quite. Maybe you’ll find this funny, though. Mrs. McMahon has informed me that tonight, if Diesel and Shawn Michaels beat the Mogul Embassy… Diesel gets another shot at the championship!
PRINCE NANA: WHAT?!
Nana’s entire vibe has changed completely. His eyes are almost on the floor, they’ve popped so far out of his head. But Swerve doesn’t bend, doesn’t fold. Doesn’t break. He just looks to the ground. And then he hears that nasally little voice rubbing salt in the wound.
BYRON SAXTON: What are your thoughts on that, champ?
Swerve looks to Saxton with an intensity very rarely seen from our WWE Champ. Swerve goes to take a step toward Byron, but he’s stopped by Prince Nana who puts a hand on Swerve’s shoulder. Swerve bats the hand away, looking at Nana who is rambling incoherently. Swerve gives one final look to Saxton before walking off screen, followed by the inconsolable Prince Nana. Saxton turns to the camera, a HUGE smile on his face as we go back to the announce desk.
MICHAEL COLE: THAT...That was awesome, Wade! Good for Byron.
WADE BARRETT: Who cares about Byron?! Look at how they’re treating our WWE Champion! They’re putting title shots on the line in matches that don’t have anything to do with him!
MICHAEL COLE: Are you serious?! They’ve bullied Saxton for months! Swerve is clearly involved in this match by proxy of his goons, an--
WADE BARRETT: Ah, bahumbug, Cole!
MICHAEL COLE: It’s not Christmas.
The cameras now go to the cafeteria, where Liv Morgan is checking out the catering options. After a few seconds, Isla Dawn appears behind her, almost stalker-like, as Liv now looks over the trays of food available in front of her. As The White Witch draws closer, she lets her fingers dance through the back of Liv’s straightened blond hair. Liv’s breath catches in her throat as she struggles to maintain her composure, completely thrown off as she turns around.
ISLA DAWN: I hope you didn’t think we let you off that easy.
Isla’s Scottish accent echoes with mischief around the room as a grin takes her features. She leans in closer, her lips almost grazing Liv’s ear.
ISLA DAWN: I think we have unfinished business, you and I…
Liv leans back to create what little distance she can as she looks at Isla with confusion.
LIV MORGAN: What are you talking about?
Isla begins to ease off, allowing some breathing space between the two.
ISLA DAWN: I think you know what I’m talking about. I don’t think we got the chance to meet. I mean… I know you already know me as the witness to your poor Rhea Ripley's unfortunate stumble upon ‘Isla Dawn’ in the tag match last week… but I don’t think us, we, personally, got the chance to… you know…
Isla’s eyes fill with madness and a smirk appears on her face as she extends an inviting hand out toward Liv Morgan. Before Liv can give a response, a hand smacks away Isla’s hand and the camera reveals Rhea Ripley who wraps a protective arm around Liv.
RHEA RIPLEY: Listen here freak show, whatever wacky offer you have, Liv is not interested. Now if I were you, I would get the hell outta here before I break your arm.
IWith a wicked smile still on her face Isla’s iris looks down in spite at her hand that has just been hit and then glares back at both women before exiting the area, leaving Rhea and Liv to look on with expressions that are a mixture of bewilderment and irritation as the cameras go back to ringside.[/quote]
MICHAEL COLE: Isla Dawn continues to give me the creeps, Wade. Thank God Rhea Ripley showed up when she did, who knows what she might’ve done to Liv Morgan!
WADE BARRETT: I’m with you, Cole. Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre are two of the strangest people we have in the WWE and every time I see them, a shiver runs down my spine.
MICHAEL COLE: Another interesting person - - albeit not quite nearly as…otherworldly as The Unholy Union - - is Matt Sydal. He’s had a bit of a mixed bag of success here in the new era so far, and tonight he’s looking to start a path of upward momentum as he goes one-on-one with Dominik Mysterio!
”It Is My Time” by def rebel hits the P/A system of the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama as Dominik Mysterio makes his way out with a strut and the crowd boos him. Mysterio makes a rude gesture to the fans as he sticks his tongue out and laughs at their reaction. Right before he gets to the ramp, he really breathes in their hatred for him as he smirks cockily and continues on his way.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: The following contest is scheduled for one fal! Making his way to the ring, Dirty Dooominiiik Mysteeeriooo!
MICHAEL COLE: I've made it very clear how much I hate this man, if you can even call him a man, Wade.
WADE BARRETT: Dominik Mysterio is a man, Cole, you just aren't willing to admit that he's more of a man than you'll ever be!
MICHAEL COLE: I'm sure the folks in the arena don't agree with you, Wade, do you hear their displeasure at his arrival?!
WADE BARRETT: Listen, Cole, these people are from Alabama...can we really trust their opinion on anything?
"Eye in The Sky" by The Alan Parsons Project begins to play as Matt Sydal comes out to the top of the ramp. He raises his arms in the air as he lays his palms flat against each other and smiles. As he drops his arms, he lifts his right pointer finger up to point at his forehead before making his way down the ramp as his sparklers shoot up from either side of the front of the stage.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: And his opponent, making his way to the ring, The Dynamic Dynamo Maaatt Syyydaaal!
MICHAEL COLE: Sydal has been facing some seriously tough competition every time he comes out here.
WADE BARRETT: He's done some impressive things in the ring as well since he signed with the WWE.
MICHAEL COLE: He just needs that first victory that really sparks the flame for him to find his spot.
SINGLES MATCH
While the bell is still ringing, Sydal charges at Mysterio to take him down with a simple headlock takeover, but Mysterio quickly applies the headscissors to force the break. Both men kip up, with Mysterio catching a dropkick by Sydal and catapulting him into the corner. Sydal jumps onto the ropes and springboards off into a crossbody but gets caught in mid-air and dropped into a rib breaker by Dominik Mysterio who wisely pins, 1...2...NO! Sydal beats the count and Mysterio treats the audience to a snap suplex. He then spins the hips and picks up Sydal for a second snap suplex, spinning the hips one more time he gets up and nails a third snap suplex to complete the trifecta known as Three Amigos. Just as Sydal reaches for the pain in his back, Mysterio digs his right knee into his back and pulls the arms back in a bow and arrow. After a moment, Mysterio lets go of the hold and gets in a running elbow smash to set up the hurricanrana and successfully nails it and goes for the pinfall but a foot on the ropes forces him to stop the pinfall attempt at one. Mysterio grabs Sydal by the arm as he gets to his feet, and he pulls down hard with a wringer. Sydal smartly uses the ropes as he backflips to undo the hold before transitioning into a hammerlock. Sydal redirects Mysterio into the corner with a shove and as he spins around; Sydal lands a dropkick to put Mysterio in the perfect seated position for a corner slingshot dropkick and the corner springboard splash on Mysterio which he transitions into a roll-up for a pin, 1....2...NO! The official is right there to count it, but Mysterio manages to kick out at the last second.
MICHAEL COLE: A couple of quick exchanges here but it looks like neither man has the clear advantage yet.
WADE BARRETT: Dominik Mysterio is certainly a breath of fresh air against Sydal, though.
MICHAEL COLE: They both have that high-flying and technical background that really compliments their styles against one another.
A rapid backslide by Mysterio pins Sydal down for two but Sydal counters with a surprise knee to the jaw! Mysterio leans on the ropes while Sydal gets a run behind him, Sydal grabs onto Mysterio's waist and hits a flip to the other side of him, lands back on his feet and uses all the momentum to German suplex Mysterio over to a loud pop from the crowd. Mysterio rolls back onto his feet and connects a series of loud chops across the chest of Sydal that send him reeling back before he grabs around the waist of Sydal and nails a belly-to-back suplex. Both stars are down and get back up to exchange forearm shots as they tire each other out. Mysterio lifts Sydal onto his shoulders, but Sydal swiftly escapes and shoves Mysterio forward. Mysterio turns back and side steps a superkick attempt before attempting a hurricanrana; Sydal lands on his feet though and goes with the momentum to springboard off the second rope and nails a Tornado DDT. As Mysterio gets to his feet, Sydal dives right into an inverted atomic drop from the top rope by Mysterio. Sydal isn't prepared as Mysterio follows it up with a spinebuster to put Sydal down for the cover, the referee counts 1...2...2.856532! The shoulder flies off the canvas at just the last second as Mysterio and the referee both can't believe it!
WADE BARRETT: Am I going crazy here, Cole? Are we seeing a fire light up inside both of these men?
MICHAEL COLE: Sydal and Mysterio are both looking for a decisive victory here to get themselves noticed here in WWE!
WADE BARRETT: Well I'm certainly impressed, these two are putting on a clinic here!
A modified armbar is applied by Mysterio to Sydal, who tries for a rope break, but he is nowhere near the ropes. Sydal struggles in the hold but gradually pulls himself and Mysterio towards the ropes to force a break. Mysterio appears as though he's searching for an answer on how to put Sydal down for good and decides to go for a running penalty kick to the face to do the trick! Sydal ducks it but can't get up quick enough to avoid a superkick to the side of the face from Mysterio, spinning Sydal over onto his back and Mysterio heads to the high-risk district. Sydal manages to get himself up and catches Mysterio on the top rope with a springboard dropkick which knocks Mysterio for a loop. Sydal heads up there as well, but Mysterio tries to fight him off. Sydal decides against the superplex attempt and instead nails a hurricanrana to Mysterio off the top rope right onto his tailbone. Sydal finds his footing on the top ropes as he climbs and tries to put the final mark on his opponent and nails his Shooting Sydal Press to put Mysterio down and pins Mysterio as the referee makes the count, 1....2....3! A decisive victory once and for all as Sydal takes home the win!

SAMANTHA IRVIN: Here is your winner, the Dynamic Dynamo MAAATT SYYYDAAAL!!!
MICHAEL COLE: Truly a spectacle to behold, Wade, these men were wrestling as if the rent was due!
WADE BARRETT: The rent check is always due, Cole! These two were wrestling to make sure they could pay that rent check!
Matt Sydal clutches his hands into fists as he can't believe that he's finally managed to get the victory here. The referee goes to lift his hand as the fans cheer, but he pulls it away for a moment as he checks on Mysterio for a moment before lifting his own hand in the air for the victory, holding onto his arm as he was put through his paces here by the younger Mysterio. After a moment of soaking in the cheers, Sydal turns and heads to the ropes and exits the ring, hopping down the floor and making his way up the ramp.
The camera takes us through the winding corridors of the backstage area. The locker rooms, showers, and office areas are very flashy, but we are confused...is this a tour? Are they taking us somewhere hidden? Eventually, we find ourselves in a secret circus shrine. With none other than the Ringling Brothers joining the likes of Andre the Giant on the walls, we are less confused...
WADE BARRETT: Oh, boy... Looks like we've got another sob story without an on-screen appearance... YAWN --
MICHAEL COLE: W-Whoa, wait... Give it a chance, Barrett!
Instead of Kizarny, we see Doink the Clown! Funnily, he greets us like he's The Grinch. Doink, humorously, changes back and forth between looking like himself and looking like Kizarny by adding or removing his wig. He laughs, taunts, struts, acts embarrassed, and feigns mischievousness...
DOINK THE CLOWN: Rather attached from our roots, we can find ourselves lost. Wrestlers, from sea to sea -- worldwide -- all know where we come from. And, with Kizarny joining the WWE Roster recently, all this talk about carnival folks being "hillbilly circus freaks" on social media is nonsense! We may add a humorous touch to Kizarny's matches, but Kizarny is someone to be reckoned with! Wrestling is DANGEROUS -- and Kizarny, of all people, is FIT to handle danger! You think he can't handle your wimpy little finisher? Your pathetic little mind game? He's done some circus stunts SO DANGEROUS that our boss is TERRIFIED to tell the Big Man upstairs about it! So... If I were some of you new punks on the block here in the WWE... I'd show some RESPECT for your roots... Stop making fun of him... Stop calling him a "hillbilly circus freak" online... And, instead, ROOT... for KIZARNY!
Kizarny's music plays and Doink the Clown, again, pretends like he was pantsed and/or he peed himself. Humorously, he shows his muscles and taunts the camera, letting the audience know that these two clowns aren't going to back down from their opponents in the ring... Again, a graphic flashes before our screen announcing to us that Kizarny will soon join us on screen...
The scene now changes to Vampiro standing alone in a dimly lit room, the faint glow of candles casting eerie shadows on the walls. His eyes gleam with an otherworldly intensity as he begins to speak, his voice low and hypnotic.
VAMPIRO: To the bone... a phrase that resonates with the essence of darkness, the very core of my being. It speaks of raw power, of untamed fury that courses through my veins like fire.
As he speaks, the haunting melody of "To the Bone" by Mirel Wagner begins to play in the background, its somber notes weaving a chilling atmosphere around him.
VAMPIRO: This music... it captures the essence of my soul, the depths of my torment and my rage. Its haunting melody echoes the cries of the damned, the whispers of the shadows that dance in the night.
He paces slowly, his movements fluid and graceful, like a predator stalking its prey.
VAMPIRO: With each note, I am reminded of the darkness that resides within me, the darkness that fuels my every move, my every action. It is a reminder of who I am, what I am... a creature of the night, a warrior of the shadows.
His eyes flash with a feral intensity as he raises his hands, the music swelling to a crescendo.
VAMPIRO: So let the world tremble at the sound of my theme, let them cower in fear as I emerge from the darkness. For I am Vampiro, and I am not bound by the constraints of mortal men. I am a force of nature, a harbinger of destruction, and with this music as my anthem, I will unleash hell upon all who dare to oppose me.
As the music fades into the background, Vampiro's laughter echoes through the room, a chilling reminder of the darkness that lurks within him and the cameras go back to ringside.
MICHAEL COLE: What is with all of the creepy stuff going on tonight, Wade?
WADE BARRETT: I couldn’t tell you, Cole, I’m not sure if this is Monday Night RAW or The Twilight Zone!
MICHAEL COLE: Well just to remind everyone that this is a wrestling show, coming up next we have a huge tag team match as Christian Cage’s “sons” Nick Wayne and Killswitch go up against the debuting Moustache Army!
"Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes begins to play as both members of Moustache Mountain make their way out and lean towards opposite sides of the crowd as they do a muscle pose for a moment before checking to make sure their moustaches are in tip-top shape. Marching down to the ring as they slap a few hands along the way as the crowd cheer for the tag team.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: The following tag team contest is scheduled for one fall! Making their way to the ring, Trent Seven and Tyler Bate, Moustache Mooountaaain!
MICHAEL COLE: These two made a hell of a tag team while they were in NXT UK!
WADE BARRETT: Well boys, now it's time for the big show, hope you've got your big boy pants on!
MICHAEL COLE: I figured you'd be a fan, Wade.
WADE BARRETT: Bloody hell, Cole! It's not like I'm obligated to like every Englishman that appears on our programming! You'd better prepare to get cancelled if you keep making statements like that!
The debuting tag team makes their way up the steel steps to the apron, entering the ring and they each walk over to a corner and climb up on the second turnbuckle, raising their arms in the air before jumping down to the mat. Taking off their jackets, they drop them over the top rope to the ringside attendant before high fiving and facing the entryway. "Take Over" hits and the crowd instantly turns to booing as Christian Cage makes his way out to the top of the ramp with his monster Killswitch behind him and Nick Wayne at his right side as they tease the crowd by waving them off as they head down the rampway.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: And their opponents, being accompanied by Christian Cage, representing The Patriarchy, they are Niiick Waaayyyneee and Kiiillswiiitch!
MICHAEL COLE: Killswitch is a beast of a man, he looks like he could take care of any challenge in his path.
WADE BARRETT: Nick Wayne is nothing to scoff at either, he may be young, but he's got quite the arsenal as we've seen on episodes of HEAT, Cole.
MICHAEL COLE: Are these two as ready for the main stage as Moustache Mountain looks though?
WADE BARRETT: Great question, Cole, but with Christian out here to help keep them focused I don't see how that would be a problem for them.
TAG TEAM MATCH
Christian is consulting with his lackeys for a moment as Bate and Seven watch and grow quickly irritated by how long it's taking. Both men rush forward and take out Killswitch and Wayne quickly with dropkicks, Christian bails out of the ring and keeps a safe distance as he barks orders. Both members of Moustache Mountain now begin to rain down blows on Killswitch, but he pushes them both off in a showing of power. As they return to try and chop the big man down, he wraps a hand around both of their throats and lifts them up and drops them down with double chokeslams. Wayne gives the assist and evens the odds as he pulls Bate out of the ring and the two begin to brawl at ringside as the bell rings.
MICHAEL COLE: Bate and Seven weren't going to just sit around, they wanted action and that's what they are getting!
WADE BARRETT: Might have been the wrong move on their part, Killswitch isn't going to mess around either!
Trent stirs and as he gets up from the canvas, he receives a high knee by Killswitch that knocks him for a loop. Killswitch picks him up off the ground and delivers a headbutt to make sure he keeps seeing stars. Tyler Bate is now in his team’s corner as he shouts at the big man who runs over and clobbers him with a clothesline that sends him to the floor outside of the ring. Turning his attention back to Seven, he nails a lariat that spins him upside down before landing on his face in the middle of the ring. Killswitch now runs a thumb along his throat as he waits for his prey to rouse again. However, it's not Seven that gets up but his partner that rushes in and gets tossed over the top rope and that momentum sends him crashing all the way onto the ramp leading to the ring back first.
MICHAEL COLE: Both members of Moustache Mountain have been trying their best but at every opportunity the big man has just been delivering punishment.
WADE BARRETT: Killswitch is a monster of a man and he's been proving that tonight!
Killwitch reaches down and wraps his hand around the throat of Seven as he picks him up again, Seven desparately tries to get out of it but it's no avail as he gets lifted up and dropped with a second CHOKESLAM! Killswitch drops down for the pinfall but Christian tells him to tag in his partner, reluctantly he gets up and tags Wayne in who demands Seven get up. As Trent gets to his feet Wayne runs up the turnbuckle post and jumps off delivering a CLOUT CUTTER before he lifts the leg and the referee counts, 1....2....3!
WINNER
NICK WAYNE & KILLSWITCH
03:42 via PINFALL
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Here are your winners, representing The Patriarchy, NIIICK WAAAYYYNEEE AND KIIILLSWIIITCH!
MICHAEL COLE: Well that certainly puts them on the board!
WADE BARRETT: A big win here for The Patriarchy, Nick Wayne and Killswitch have made an impact here, Cole!
Tyler Bate rushes in but is caught around the throat by Killswitch as he attempts to save his partner from Nick Wayne who is stomping on him. Killswitch lifts up Bate with ease and walks to the ropes before he drops Bate to the floor below! Wayne shoves Seven out of the ring with his foot as Christian Cage gets into the ring and raises both members of The Patriarchy's arms into the air and slaps them on the chest as he congratulates them.
MICHAEL COLE: I'm sure we'll never hear the end of this, it's bad enough that Christian has been on a roll now his lackeys have a victory here on RAW.
WADE BARRETT: He's a great man, a great leader, and a father who anyone who needs it, Cole! What's not to love about Christian Cage?
As the fans continue to boo the trio, Christian pulls his “sons” close to him in an embrace, before leading them to the ropes to exit the ring. The three of them get down to the arena floor and begin making their way up the ramp, continuing their pompous celebration as the cameras fade to commercial.
