Monday Night RAW
May 20, 2024
Bridgestone Arena
Nashville, Tennessee
As the opening video package ends, pyro explodes on the stage as the crowd in Nashville, Tennessee is erupting in cheers. The cameras pan through the crowd, showing off various signs reading things like “Cancel The Bucks!”, “Wizzelcome Tizzo Nizzashville Kizarny!”, “Put Out The Fyre, Alexa!” and more. After doing a pan of the Bridgestone Arena, the cameras settle in on the commentary table where we see the team of Michael Cole and Wade Barrett.
MICHAEL COLE: Good evening folks and welcome to what’s bound to be another fantastic episode of Monday Night RAW! I’m Michael Cole alongside my broadcast partner, Wade Barrett, and we’re as ready for the action tonight as these fans in attendance!
WADE BARRETT: You got that right, Cole, we’re just days away from Unforgiven and it’s going to be a very special night in terms of where the future of the WWE is headed!
MICHAEL COLE: But before we get there, Wade, we’ve got tons going on tonight that’s sure to not only entertain but also show what could be a clear advantage for some of the competitors that have already been announced in matches.
WADE BARRETT: Tons of implications for the future both tonight and at Unforgiven. I can’t wait to see not only some of our established superstars, but newer superstars step between the ropes and duke it out.
MICHAEL COLE: The Wiseman’s client, The Rock, is looking to make up for his loss to Corey Graves last week by trying to beat one of our newer superstars, Kizarny in our opening match.
WADE BARRETT: Can you truly imagine a circus act outdoing not only a bonafide Hollywood celebrity but a future WWE Hall of Famer in The Rock? I personally think Kizarny is in for a world of hurt tonight.
MICHAEL COLE: We’ll have to find out very soon, but Jamie Hayter is looking to make her own mark on the division as well as she takes on Rhea Ripley. Another of our newer superstars, but Rhea is also looking to make her own impact still as well in the women’s division.
WADE BARRETT: If I know Rhea Ripley well, she’ll be making an impact on the canvas with Jamie Hayter very soon. She’s not trying to get thrown off track and allow Hayter to pass her by on a possible spot at getting to the top of the division.
MICHAEL COLE: Corey Graves is taking on a man who once was merely a manager to Jacob Fatu. We wish Jacob well on his way to recovery after the vicious attack by Vampiro. Graves might be wavering in his excitement for this one, but Vampiro has already proven himself a dangerous prospect in the men’s division here in the WWE.
WADE BARRETT: Vampiro has nothing to lose and everything to gain here tonight if he can pick up a victory over Graves. The man has been steadily chugging forward for the past two weeks and as much as we love it, I’m sure the veterans like Vampiro have been keeping a close eye on him.
MICHAEL COLE: The Bizarre One, Goldust, is making his WWE debut tonight as well. Can you imagine what he could be wanting to do in this new era?
WADE BARRETT: I’d imagine his goal would be to try and get what his brother failed to do at our first premium live event, Night of Champions. The WWE Championship is a prize that he’s yet to win and it would make his father proud to see one of them able to capture that shiny gold.
MICHAEL COLE: And we can’t forget about tag team action, the division has been growing week by week and we’ve got the Motor City Machine Guns hoping to get an upset over The Patriarchy.
WADE BARRETT: In my opinion, Cole, the upset would be for The Patriarchy to get the victory. The Motor City Machine Guns have been traveling all over the world winning prizes in some of the biggest wrestling companies outside of WWE. If The Patriarchy can manage to get the win, it would go a long way in making them one step closer to those WWE Tag Team Championships that the EVPs are holding onto right now.
MICHAEL COLE: Let’s not forget that we’ve got Alba Fyre and Alexa Bliss facing off against one another for the first time in WWE action. I’m not sure if I’m excited about it or creeped out that those two will be in the ring at the same time. Something isn’t right about either of those ladies, Wade.
WADE BARRETT: Alexa certainly has had her issues with The Unholy Union and her personal mental health lately. This is a good way for them to really test the waters here and show what they’ve got, whether it’ll settle any grudges is another story however.
MICHAEL COLE: And we certainly haven’t forgotten about Charlie Dempsey taking on Malakai Black. Those two are as hard-hitting as they come and I’m not sure either is going to be able to walk away from this one.
WADE BARRETT: They certainly haven’t held back in any of their previous matches. Both men have the potential to really stand out after this one, I’d imagine management is keen to see who will[/b] be able to walk away.
MICHAEL COLE: Well with all that said, I can’t wait for this to start and certainly neither can any of the WWE Universe. Let’s get ready to kick things off in style here on Monday Night RAW…wait a minute, I’m getting word that there’s some kind of disturbance backstage!
WADE BARRETT: I’m being told Diesel and Old Man Michaels are tearing up the backstage area! Typical!
Wade Barrett is right, but he’s wrong too. It’s not just Diesel and Old Man Michaels tearing things up. They’re in a massive brawl with the WWE Champion Swerve Strickland, Oba Femi and Will Hobbs!
MICHAEL COLE: Things are completely out of control, Wade!
The Titan Tron is showing the melee to the crowd, as WWE officials and referees are doing their best to get in the middle of the mess. Oba Femi is engaged in a slugfest with Old Man Michaels, with two referees trying to get in the middle of them. Diesel is doing his best to get his hands on Swerve Strickland, but Will Hobbs is running interference and is engaged in fists with “Big Daddy Cool”. Hobbs throws a right hand and it connects clean on Diesel’s jaw, and the big man retaliates by throwing a right hand of his own, which connects right across Hobb’s face. This is followed by another round of punches before Swerve sneaks in and lands a knee to Diesel’s gut. Diesel bends down holding his gut, which gives Swerve and Hobbs a chance to jump on him.
MICHAEL COLE: Two on one, Wade! This isn’t right!
WADE BARRETT: Give me a break Cole, it’s clear Two Dudes with Attitudes started this whole mess!
MICHAEL COLE: What!? How can you tell that?
WADE BARRETT: It’s just their nature.
Old Man Michaels is able to dispose of Femi, and he quickly comes to Diesel’s aid, clearing Hobbs from the skirmish. This leaves Diesel and Swerve to exchange punches and they engage in a lockup, but it’s quickly broken up by not one, not two, but three WWE officials. This doesn’t stop the champion and his challenger from trying to get at one another, as they’re reaching over the officials throwing punches and trying to get at one another.
Femi is back to his feet and he rushes over to Old Man Michaels and Hobbs, joining the melee. Femi and Hobbs are able to get the best of Michaels, before Shawn throws Hobbs into a nearby concrete wall. He’s unable to follow up because Femi jumps on him, landing vicious shots. WWE officials do their best to get in between Femi and Michaels, but they’re struggling to do so.
MICHAEL COLE: This is complete mayhem! The WWE Champion Swerve Strickland, Will Hobbs and Oba Femi are tearing up the backstage area with Diesel and Old Man Michaels!
WADE BARRETT: Two Dudes have been asking for this, Cole and you know it’s true!
The brawl continues backstage with neither camp getting the upper hand. Just when Diesel looks like he’s got the best of Swerve, Femi or Hobbs jumps in and the champ pummels “Big Daddy Cool”. And, just when it looks like Shawn is able to fight off Hobbs, Femi jumps back in the mix. The two camps brawl all over the backstage area, knocking down catering trays and sound equipment, tearing everything apart. WWE officials are able to get in between the combatants with varying success. As the bawl goes on, another group of WWE officials and referees jump in and soon the enormous gaggle of officials and referees are able to create a wall between the two camps.
MICHAEL COLE: Finally, some order!
On their side of the wall, Diesel tries to break through and on the other side Swerve tries to break through. But, the sheer number of officials involved finally have seemed to separate everyone.
WADE BARRETT: Diesel should consider himself lucky!
DIESEL: Next week, Swerve! No running and no one to break it up!
SWERVE STRICKLAND: You’re lucky they’re here tonight!
DIESEL: Yeah? I’ll see you in the ring, and I’ll be leaving with that WWE Championship!
SWERVE STRICKLAND: You won’t leave at all! YOU WON’T LEAVE AT ALL!
MICHAEL COLE: It’s a war of words now, Wade, but things were out of control to open the show.
WADE BARRETT: Things are heating up for Unforgiven next week Cole, that’s for sure!
MICHAEL COLE: That they are! But moving on to the next order of business, last week we saw an absolute war in our opening match.
WADE BARRETT: That’s right Cole. Not only did we get to see the return of The Final Boss, The Rock, but we got to see him make his in-ring return as well!
MICHAEL COLE: And we got to watch his shocking defeat at the hands of our colleague, Corey Graves.
WADE BARRETT: The Rock will be looking to prove to the WWE Universe that it was just a fluke. I don’t envy his opponent tonight; he’s going to be in for a world of hurt!
MICHAEL COLE: We’ll find out what happens as The Rock opens the show once again, this time against Kizarny!
The crowd goes quiet as the lights dim. After a moment, “Entry of the Gladiators” by Big Top begins to play over the speakers, and the crowd cheers as Kizarny steps out from backstage, surveying the ring and the audience. Doink the Clown steps out beside him clad in his full regalia, from the green wig down to the big shoes.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! On his way to the ring, The Sideshow Psycho Kizarny!
The carnival music continues to play as the pair makes their way down to the ring and up the stairs. The Sideshow Psycho climbs the corner post and raises his fists to the crowd, soaking in their cheers.
MICHAEL COLE: Kizarny is looking confident, but one has to wonder if that might be a little misplaced!
WADE BARRETT: He might actually be a psycho if he thinks that The Rock is going to let him out of the ring in one piece!
The lights go down once again, only for two blue and white spotlights to sweep across the crowd as The Final Boss’s music starts to hit. The crowd goes wild as the two spotlights focus on The Rock as he makes his way from the back. His eyes are cold behind his dark shades, and he stares daggers down towards the ring.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: And his opponent, the Final Boss, THE ROOOCK!
After a moment, The Rock starts putting one foot in front of the other. There’s no swagger in this walk, only sheer-minded determination. His eyes stay locked on Kizarny as he mounts the ringside steps and climbs into the ring. He shrugs off his vest and tosses his sunglasses to an attendant.
MICHAEL COLE: The Rock is looking intense!
WADE BARRETT: Of course he is! After last week he’s got something to prove!
The official looks between the two men and asks if they’re ready. He gets a quick reply from Kizarny, who hops on the balls of his feet, loosening himself up. It takes two more asks to get an answer from the Rock, though. And then the bell rings.
SINGLES MATCH
The Rock and Kizarny face off, neither man moving for a moment. The official looks between the two, watching them closely. After a moment, Kizarny decides to make the first move. He puts his arms out to go for the lock-up - - clotheslined by The Rock! Kizarny folds like a marionette with cut strings! He looks dazed for a moment, and The Rock presses his advantage! He grabs the Sideshow Psycho and drags him to his feet and hefts him over with a belly-to-belly suplex! Kizarny crashes down hard, and he’s seeing stars as the Rock goes for the cover, 1…kick out at 1.5!
MICHAEL COLE: Kizarny could have lost it right there!
WADE BARRETT: The Rock is looking like a beast here tonight.
The Rock paces back and forth, trying to decide on his next move. After a moment, just as Kizarny looks to be about to sit up, The Rock delivers a sharp boot to his midsection. The Sideshow Psycho rolls over onto his stomach, only for The Rock to plant his boot on Kizarny’s neck! He scrubs Kizarny’s face against the mat and the official tries to tell him to stop, but he refuses. The ref begins the count, but The Rock continues until the last possible second!
The official sends him to the corner and checks on Kizarny, who is clutching his face. The Sideshow Psycho rises to his feet. His face is red and scraped, but he gives the nod and our match continues. The Rock charges forward for another clothesline - - straight into an arm drag takedown by Kizarny! The crowd erupts as he plants the Final Boss!
MICHAEL COLE: Shades of Ricky Steamboat right there!
WADE BARRETT: Kizarny is showing a lot of heart, but it’s going to take a lot more than that to put the People’s Champion away!
Kizarny sees his moment and he seizes it! He steps over to the ring ropes and grips the top one. He jumps to the middle, to the top, springboard Hell-bow! NO! Nobody’s home! The Rock rolls out of the way just in time, and Kizarny eats canvas. He clutches his elbow, rolling in pain as The Rock stands over him like a titan. The People’s Champion grabs the Sideshow Psycho and yanks him to his feet, shouting angrily at him for a moment. He delivers a hard left-handed slap before going for an Irish whip off the opposite rope. Kizarny rebounds and comes back – and ducks the right hand! He hits the ropes again and comes back with a full-head of steam, and hits dead center with a dropkick. The Rock stumbles back to the ropes, but Kizarny is hot on his heels and hits him with a clothesline over the top rope! The Rock rolls to the ground, but Kizarny isn’t done. He turns to bounce off the ropes again and gets his speed going, before leaping through the ropes to deliver a suicide dive DDT!
MICHAEL COLE: What a show of athleticism!
WADE BARRETT: That was impressive, but he can’t keep going like that for long. Sooner or later, the tank will be empty!
Kizarny’s still got some gas in the tank, though! He kips up to his feet and showboats for the crowd! The Rock starts to raise himself up, managing to get to his knees before Kizarny notices and comes charging back in to hit him with the Hellion Hammer lariat! The Rock is down! The Sideshow Psycho grabs his fallen opponent and rolls him into the ring, before going for the pin! 1…2…3…?! NO! Shoulder up at 2.99! The crowd can’t believe it, and Kizarny’s in shock! He punches the mat and gets to his feet, pulling The Rock into position for the Tallulah Bell. Kizarny jumps…and hangs in midair! The Rock’s holding him up! The Final Boss hefts him up, adjusting him into a fireman’s carry on his shoulders, and looks directly into the camera before falling back into a Samoan drop.
The Rock rises and looks at his fallen opponent, before yanking off the elbow pad and throwing it into the crowd! He’s ready to end it here as he rebounds off one rope, then the second. People’s Elbow! There’s the cover, 1…2…3!

THE ROCK

SAMANTHA IRVIN: Here is your winner, The Final Boss THE ROOOCK!
MICHAEL COLE: What a match! Kizarny showed a lot of passion tonight, but in the end he fell just short against The Rock.
WADE BARRETT: I won’t say Kizarny doesn’t have moves in the ring, Cole, but there’s a reason The Rock has been such an icon in this business; that’s not a position you get to by being a pushover.
The Final Boss theme plays over the speakers, and the crowd boos and jeers as the ref raises The Rock’s hand in victory. Paul Heyman steps up hand him his vest and sunglasses before escorting him down the stairs and back up towards the stage.
We head backstage to the entrance of the arena, past a number of staffers doing official staffing things. Seems appropriate. That interesting note is soon a fleeting thought as the doors to one of the talent entrances swing open and The Best Tag Team in the World walks through the door. Well, they don’t walk through the door together. That would be difficult. CM Punk walks in first, followed closely by his tag team partner Stevie Richards. As both members of TBTTITW walk into the arena, the crowd comes absolutely unglued.
STEVIE RICHARDS: Tonight we get our hands on the Young Bucks, right Punkster?
CM PUNK: You said it, Stevie. With any luck, we’ll get a measure of revenge.
STEVIE RICHARDS: Good, those two and their phony referee have been asking for it!
CM PUNK: They’re…
The Best Tag Team in the World stops dead in their tracks as Stephanie McMahon is standing right in their path.
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: Good evening, gentlemen.
STEVIE RICHARDS: Hey boss.
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: I have to say, I’m a little surprised to see you here tonight.
STEVIE RICHARDS: What?
CM PUNK: I think what Stevie is trying to say is…what?
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: Well, I seem to recall you two putting your hands on a WWE official two weeks in a row. Does that ring a bell?
CM PUNK: Stevie?
STEVIE RICHARDS: I don’t understand the question.
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: That’s not important. What is important is that you both are banned from the arena tonight. And don’t try to blame me, you brought this on yourselves.
A chorus of boos fill the arena.
STEVIE RICHARDS: There goes your ratings.
CM PUNK: A bit harsh if you ask me.
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: Well, the good thing is, I’m not asking you, Punk. I’m telling the both of you that you need to leave this arena right now. I can’t have my WWE superstars putting their hands on a WWE official, much less two weeks in a row. It’s completely unacceptable. So, you’ll need to find something else to do with your evening.
Stevie looks at his tag team partner.
STEVIE RICHARDS: Pizza?
CM Punk, rather than answer his partner, questions Stephanie McMahon a bit more.
CM PUNK: So let me get this straight, the Young Bucks have been toying around with the system for weeks now, and you’re punishing us?
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: It’s like I said, your actions the last couple weeks have been unacceptable, and there needs to be repercussions.
Stephanie points behind TBTTITW, towards the door.
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: Gentlemen.
Punk looks like he’s about to blow a gasket before slowly turning around and heading for the door. Stevie follows.
STEVIE RICHARDS: Maybe now isn’t the best time to ask, but can we forgo the olives this time?
Giving Stephanie a glare, Punk turns around and heads towards the talent door once again, Stevie following close behind, as Stephanie stands there and watches them exit the building.
The cameras now go to a different area of the arena, where we see "The Man" and, most importantly, the Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Becky Lynch, walking down the corridor with purpose, her flaming red locks flying behind her, her boots stomping on the ground like she physically hates the floor and wants to punch it as hard as she possibly can with her feet, not to mention the title belt itself held lovely against her shoulder. She continues down the hallway, that's until she's grounded to a halt, as Chelsea Green, a rival she's had many heated encounters with, comes out from behind the corner and quite dramatically bumps into Becky Lynch, which causes The Man to lose her footing slightly, but Chelsea Green, stumbles and bumbles like a soccer player looking for a penalty, a performance that might earn her an Oscar.
BECKY LYNCH: Were you literally hiding around that corner just so you could bump into me?
Chelsea scoffs and rolls her eyes as she straightens herself out.
CHELSEA GREEN: Puh-leaze! As if I would purposely bump into a nasty little weirdo like you.
BECKY LYNCH: Oh no, I'm so emotionally wounded, your opinion means so much to me. I value every second you've been in my life Chelsea Green.
It should go without saying, but Becky's face is absolutely deadpan, and her voice practically drips with insincerity. After a moment, Becky sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose.
BECKY LYNCH: Speaking of best friends, I've been searching for yours all night. Maybe you can be useful for a change - - where's Jamie Hayter? You know, the tall, lanky gal with a face begging for a backhand.
Chelsea smirks as she shrugs her shoulders.
CHELSEA GREEN: Why, Becky? Are you reconsidering the situation you’ve gotten yourself into? Thinking about backing out of the match at Unforgiven?
BECKY LYNCH: Screw it.
Becky shrugs her shoulders as if to say, "I tried to be nice", before she suddenly grabs Chelsea and pushes her against the wall.
BECKY LYNCH: Look, you cheap ass human Barbie doll, I've been given the run-around for you and your bestie, for far too long, and I'm done playing these games. Now, I know you know she is, and you're going to tell me. It's just a matter of how many times I hit you before you do.
Despite the situation she currently finds herself in, a devious smile comes across Chelsea’s face.
CHELSEA GREEN: Well, Becky, it’s your lucky day. Because she’s closer than you think.
Becky’s face furrows in confusion when suddenly...
WHACK!
She’s struck in the back by a steel chair! Letting go of Chelsea, Becky turns around to see Jamie Hayter standing there, steel chair in hand! Becky grits her teeth and takes a step forward, but Jamie brings the chair down across her back again with another loud WHACK, sending the Women’s Intercontinental Champion down to her knees!
CHELSEA GREEN: You’re not so tough now, are you, Becky?
With a laugh, Chelsea delivers a stiff kick to Becky’s midsection, causing The Man to let out a groan as she falls to the floor and rolls over onto her back. Dropping the chair, Jamie Hayter now mounts the fallen Lynch and nails her with a stiff right hand shot to the face, and then another. Chelsea notices security starting to approach them, so she signals to Jamie that it’s time to go. Jamie stops striking Lynch and then stands over the fallen champion, looking down at her with a sneer.
JAMIE HAYTER: Just remember this, Becky. I can get to you at any time I wish. I can destroy you at any point I choose. I could just destroy you now and spare everyone the heartbreak at Unforgiven, but where's the fun in that? With the time between now and Unforgiven, it's much more fun to draw it out to the point where everyone - - yourself included - - is begging for me to take the belt from you as a form of mercy.
Jamie leans down and whispers into Becky's ear.
JAMIE HAYTER: Believe me when I tell you this, Becky. When Unforgiven comes and I take that belt from you, it won't be out of mercy. It'll be out of dominance, because I'm the most powerful woman in wrestling, and I'll prove it.
Standing up, Jamie delivers one final stomp to Becky’s midsection before she and Chelsea run off, just as security gets to Becky to check on her as the cameras go back to ringside.
MICHAEL COLE: That was an absolute setup by Chelsea Green and Jamie Hayter, Wade!
WADE BARRETT: Nonsense, Cole! Chelsea and Jamie don’t need to set up anyone, they just happened to be in the right place at the right time!
MICHAEL COLE: Whatever you say there, partner, but Jamie Hayter has planted a big target on herself and Becky Lynch has yet to miss her mark when she takes aim at somebody. That’s assuming Jamie even makes it to Unforgiven, she’s got to get through Rhea Ripley first, and that just so happens to be our next match!
Rhea Ripley is shown standing in the ring, cracking her knuckles as her music fades out. Suddenly, "Teenage Nosferatu Pussy" by Rob Zombie begins to play on the speakers and the crowd erupts in boos as Jamie Hayter struts out to the top of the ramp, a cocky smirk on her face. Looking out at the crowd, Jamie laughs before throwing her arms out to the side and tilting her head back, basking in the hatred from the fans before making her way down the ramp.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Already in the ring at this time, The Eradicator, Rheeea Riiipleeey! And her opponent, making her way to the ring, The Most Powerful Woman in Wrestling, Jaaamiiieee Haaayterrr!
MICHAEL COLE: Jamie Hayter looks incredibly proud of herself after those heinous actions backstage!
WADE BARRETT: She should be proud of herself, Cole! Becky Lynch is one tough cookie and Jamie got one over on her!
Jamie saunters down the ramp, still laughing at the booing fans. As she gets to the bottom, she walks over to the steel steps and makes her way up to the apron, stepping into the ring as she walks to the center and throws her arms out to the side again as she continues to soak in the hatred from the crowd. Bringing her arms back down she shrugs out of her jacket and tosses it over the top rope to a ringside attendant before turning her attention to Rhea Ripley as her music fades out.
SINGLES MATCH
The bell rings and Rhea Ripley wastes no time running towards Jamie Hayter looking for a clothesline, but Hayter acts fast and takes Ripley down with a drop toe hold! Delivering a stomp to Ripley’s back, Hayter bends down and grabs Ripley by the hair, roughly bringing her up to her feet. Jamie whips Rhea into the corner and then comes charging in looking to strike, but Rhea moves and rocks Hayter in the jaw with a stiff elbow shot that sends The Hayteful One staggering back!
MICHAEL COLE: What a shot from Rhea Ripley!
WADE BARRETT: She might’ve knocked a tooth out!
As Jamie holds her jaw, her eyes darken with anger and she turns around to face Rhea but she gets knocked down to the canvas with a big boot! Rhea goes for the cover, looking to end this one quickly and the referee makes the count, 1…2…THRNOO!! Jamie Hayter kicks out just in time! Rhea doesn’t look too bothered by this as she stands up and bends down to grab Hayter, picking her up and putting her arms through Jamie’s legs before lifting her up, looking to hit the Riptide! However, Jamie wriggles free from Rhea’s grasp and slides down Rhea’s back and lands on her feet, before quickly rolling Rhea up with a school girl pin, 1…2…3!! Jamie Hayter gets the sneaky win!
WINNER
JAMIE HAYTER

SAMANTHA IRVIN: Here is your winner, The Most Powerful Woman in Wrestling, JAAAMIIIEEE HAAAYTERRR!
MICHAEL COLE: Jamie Hayter snuck out the back door with that one, Wade!
WADE BARRETT: A win is a win, Cole, and that certainly helps her momentum going into her match this Sunday against Becky Lynch!
"Teenage Nosferatu Pussy" begins to play again, and the crowd once again erupts into boos as Jamie Hayter quickly rolls out of the ring, laughing at Rhea Ripley who is already up on her knees, a look of shock and disappointment on her face. Jamie walks around to the bottom of the ramp and demands the referee still raise her hand, so the referee exits the ring and raises Jamie’s arm in the air, pointing at her to declare her the winner. Ripping her hand away from the referee, Jamie makes a mocking crying expression with her hands as she looks at the disappointed Ripley, before turning and making her way up the ramp towards the back.
The scene transitions to backstage where we join Triple H, who’s engrossed in paperwork in his office. His phone rings, momentarily interrupting his focus, just as a knock sounds on his door.
TRIPLE H: Door’s open! Make it quick!
The door swings open, revealing ECW legend and old-time locker room acquaintance Dawn Marie, clutching a stack of papers to send the crowd in shock. She exudes her signature allure, her dark brown locks cascading over a stunning navy-blue dress that accentuates her newfound curves. It has been nearly two decades since Dawn's last appearance in WWE. Triple H quickly hits ignore on his cell phone as he takes in Dawn’s reemergence and rises from his leather chair.
DAWN MARIE: Hey, Hunter. I have something for you.
TRIPLE H: Dawn Marie? What are you doing here?
DAWN MARIE: There were some papers left out in the hallway with your name on them and I couldn’t just walk by, leave them, and not say hello. Who knows what these could be?
TRIPLE H: Well, it’s amazing to see you Dawn and you’re looking… great. I wish I had more time to show you around.
DAWN MARIE: Oh don’t worry, this is all old territory to me. It’s weird, isn’t it? Just like old times except you're over there and I’m…well…anyway. I have some ideas I think you might like.
Approaching Triple H's desk, Dawn carefully sets down the papers, a sly smirk gracing her lips. Triple H shifts uncomfortably, wary of potentially offending Dawn with his next words.
TRIPLE H: Dawn, I’m sorry. I hope this doesn’t come across rude. It is great to see you, but this isn’t 2002. You can’t just walk in here with your…assets all up in everyone’s faces looking for something or someone of importance. This is a new chapter. WWE has evolved.
Dawn chuckles softly, with eyes lowering she almost shies away as she took in the co-owner’s words.
TRIPLE H: Before talking about ideas you have, I have very important things to be dealing with right now. If you need me to hear your ideas, then go about it the professional way and arrange a formal appointment.
DAWN MARIE: Right. I get it. You prefer some one-on-one time.
Dawn shakes her head and with a faint smile still on her lips, she takes a step back from the space they share.
DAWN MARIE: You know, I hate to say it Hunter but you’re starting to sound a lot like Vince.
Hunter’s expression darkens at the mention of Vince as the crowd gasps. The memory of Dawn’s brief distasteful stint as Stephanie McMahon’s father’s legal assistant comes to the forefront of everybody’s minds who know the history. With that, Dawn fixes her dress, turns on her heel and exits the room with purpose. Triple H settles back into his chair, relieved to see Dawn Marie leave, and he goes back to the papers he was looking over.
We're taken backstage, where we see Cathy Kelly's ever-happy smiley, cute button face as she stands with a trusty microphone in her hand.
CATHY KELLEY: Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in welcoming the Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn!
The crowd pops slightly as Sami appears on the screen in his eternally stylish cargo jacket and cap, which he tips in the direction of Cathy before cringing slightly at that movement as she settles in.
CATHY KELLEY: Sami, you've got a monumental title defense at Unforgiven against Christian Cage, a man you confronted last week. It's fair to say, last week we almost saw fireworks, and the anticipation for this match is reaching fever pitch.
SAMI ZAYN: Yeah, yeah, it got pretty intense, didn't it?
Sami smiles a little bashfully as he scratches his beard..
SAMI ZAYN: I'm not going to lie, I'm a little embarrassed about how Christian got under my skin, which is what he wanted the entire time. But I'm not going to give him the satisfaction, I'm not going to let him play his games. I'm going to stay focused on the prize, because we both know what this is all about. It's about this - -
Sami slaps the title belt on his shoulder.
SAMI ZAYN: That's all the guy cares about, not being a father, not about family; that's all a smoke screen to disguise from the fact that he's just trying to get me in the frame of mind that will weaken me mentally so he can steal this from me, but I'm not going to play his game, and if Christian Cage wants this belt, I really hope, he has a plan b, because he's not going to steal this belt from Sami Zayn...he's going to have to fight for it.
And with a nod, Sami walks off into the distance as the cameras go back to ringside.
MICHAEL COLE: Sami certainly seems like he’s in the right headspace going into Unforgiven. Looks like he’s ready to defend the Intercontinental Championship with everything he’s got, Wade!
WADE BARRETT: But Christian certainly won’t let him walk out with the gold, he’s got plans in motion already, Cole. You don’t understand how badly The Patriarchy wants him to win that Intercontinental Championship!
MICHAEL COLE: Well, speaking of The Patriarchy, they’ll be dealing with their own challenge tonight in the form of the newest tag team to join the ranks of WWE. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are now officially taking part in their first match on Monday Night Raw and it’s going to be happening right now!
"Six Barrel Shotgun" by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club hits the P/A system of the Bridgestone Arena as Alexy Shelley and Chris Sabin of the Motor City Machine Guns make their way out to the top of the stage. Sabin gives a finger gun to the camera as he winks at the same time and Shelley smirks as he opens the vest he's wearing to reveal his physique before spreading his arms out to the side and shoots a finger gun from each hand into the air.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Making their way to the ring, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, The Moootor Ciiity Maaachiiine Guuuns!
MICHAEL COLE: These two are no strangers to tag team action, Wade. As a matter of fact, they were well-decorated on the tag team scene outside of WWE.
WADE BARRETT: These two have made the rounds all over the world to hone their craft and tonight is a big night for them. They are going to see if they have what it takes to make it here in the WWE.
MICHAEL COLE: Against a tag team that isn’t afraid of a little competition. The Patriarchy has been led by Christian Cage on a pretty impressive win streak so far, tonight we'll see if they can beat a very game opponent in the Motor City Machine Guns.
WADE BARRETT: The Patriarchy will do what they've always done Cole and make their father proud, Christian wouldn't accept anything less!
Sabin and Shelley stand on the ring aprons as they tease the crowd a bit with some more poses before entering the ring and bumping forearms together in a moment of solidarity. Just as they begin to strategize, the countdown begins and "Take Over" hits the P/A system of the arena as Christian leads his men out to battle, a grin on his face as he shoots insults down at the Motor City Machine Guns. Nick Wayne is at his side and Killswitch looms ominously behind them like the mountain of a man that he is.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: And their opponents, being accompanied by Christian Cage, Nick Wayne and Killswitch, The Paaatriarchyyy!
WADE BARRETT: There they are Cole, the hottest rising superstars in the tag team division, Nick Wayne and Killswitch! Can you imagine having to come up against a man the size of Killswitch? Even if you only had to face him on his own, I'm not sure any of the tag teams on the roster would be capable of chopping a man like that down.
MICHAEL COLE: Killswitch has certainly been a force to be reckoned with in the ring. However, I wouldn't count out the Motor City Machine Guns before we see what they can do.
TAG TEAM MATCH
Killswitch has pulled himself onto the apron as the Motor City Machine Guns eyes widen at the sheer size of him. Nick Wayne confidently strides up the stairs as Christian continues to deride the opposing team from the outside to distract them it appears. Both members of the Machine Guns run forward and get clobbered down by Killswitch as he enters the ring, Sabin taking the worst of it as Shelley rolls out of the ring after the hit. Killswitch grabs Sabin by the wrist and pulls him into the corner as the bell rings and he tags in Wayne as he lifts up Sabin and drops him with a Backbreaker but keeps him bent over the knee as Wayne comes off the top turnbuckle with a knee drop that mimics one of the signature tag moves of their opponents.
MICHAEL COLE: Well that was uncalled for!
WADE BARRETT: The Patriarchy are gonna beat the Motor City Machine Guns at their own game it appears!
Wayne now slaps the back of Sabin's head as he chastises him for thinking he could just walk into this match on RAW and beat The Patriarchy in their first official match. He grabs him by the lower jaw and the top of his head as he points his view towards Christian Cage and screams at Sabin about how delusional he is before shoving his face into the canvas. Wayne now slaps him on the back of the head again as he picks him up and delivers a devastating looking Fisherman's Buster, keeping the leg hooked as the referee drops down but he only gets a two count that Sabin manages to kick out of. Wayne pulls Sabin back to his corner by the foot as he lifts him up and tags in Killswith, before applying a Full Nelson. He holds Sabin in place for a Big Boot and drops him on his head with a Dragon Suplex before he slaps Killswitch on the chest and tells him to destroy Sabin. Killswitch stares at Wayne for a moment before he reaches down and grabs Sabin by the throat and lifts him back to his feet once again.
MICHAEL COLE: You know, Wayne seems to really rely on the big man to get the job done.
WADE BARRETT: If you had a partner like Killswitch, you'd probably let him do most of the work too, wouldn't you?
MICHAEL COLE: Just seems like maybe he's the real superstar to watch in the group is all I'm saying.
Killswitch lifts Sabin up by the throat, but he wriggles his way out of it and lands on his feet before nailing a dropkick to the right knee of Killswitch that drops the monster to his knees. Sabin runs and hits the ropes before he comes back with a crossbody that knocks the big man over. Sabin grabs the top rope for a moment as the crowd cheers him on and he rushes back with a Bicycle Kick that absolutely nails the big man in the side of the head. Shelley has his arm extended as Sabin makes the tag and feels the wear finally kick in as he gets to take a breather now. Shelley rushes in and stomps on the big man's right knee before he applies a single leg Boston Crab, cinching the hold on tight. Killswitch fights to go for the ropes, but that right knee is really feeling it and he instead opts to roll over and power Shelley over who flies over in a cartwheel like motion to break the hold.
WADE BARRETT: Shelley wisely came in for his partner, but it looks like Killswitch is still game enough to keep the advantage out of their hands.
MICHAEL COLE: An impressive show of power once again by Killswitch. It looks like he may need to get to his partner to keep the team alive in this match though, that right knee has taken quite a bit of damage at this point.
Wayne has his arm extended as Killswitch slowly makes his way over, favoring the right knee as he tags his partner in. Wayne runs in and grabs Shelley around the neck and flips over nailing a standing Sliced Bread as he hooks the leg, 1...2...NO! Shelley and Wayne are both on their feet now as Wayne rushes in with a running European Uppercut that takes Shelley off his feet once again. As Shelley gets up again, Wayne jumps up and wraps his legs around the neck but as he goes for the Tijeras, he's stopped mid-swing as Shelley lifts him up and powerbombs him straight to the canvas which knocks the wind out of Wayne! Shelley picks him up off the canvas and hangs him up in the corner turnbuckle with the Tree of Woe position before he rushes to the other corner, the crowd erupting in cheers at this turn of events. Shelley aims with the finger guns before he rushes in and runs up the ropes, dropping down on Wayne with a double foot stomp that knocks him down and out of the position to the canvas. Shelley hooks the leg as the referee makes the count, 1...2....3! FOOT ON THE ROPES! Shelley gets up and raises his arm in the air for the victory, but the referee spins him around and points at Wayne's foot on the ropes!
WADE BARRETT: Wise beyond his years, that ring awareness was probably taught to him by his father, Christian Cage.
MICHAEL COLE: First of all, Christian isn't his father. And second of all, that looked like his foot just happened to land on the rope during his fall and the referee didn't see it at first!
WADE BARRETT: Well, Shelley and these fans don't look pleased at all!
Shelley pulls Wayne up and nails an STO into his team’s corner as he tags in Sabin once again. Both men set Wayne up with Shelley on the top rope and Sabin underneath him in the powerbomb position as they nail MADE IN DETROIT! Sabin keeps the legs hooked from the powerbomb position as Killswitch enters the ring, but Shelley nails him with a hurricanrana that sends him tumbling out of the ring on top of Christian. The referee is in position now as he makes the count, 1....2....3! Shelley looks poised for Killswitch and Christian to interfere but both men back up the rampway as they curse at the Motor City Machine Guns!

SAMANTHA IRVIN: Here are your winners, THE MOOOTOR CIIITY MACHIIINE GUUUNS!
MICHAEL COLE: Justice has finally been served to The Patriarchy, Wade!
WADE BARRETT: They didn't deserve this! The Motor City Machine Guns must have paid off the referee!
As Nick Wayne rolls out of the ring, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin lean over the ropes as they stand on them and challenge Christian and Killswitch to come back down. Killswitch goes to rush forward but he's stopped by Cage to fight another day. Shelley and Sabin going to the turnbuckles as they pose for the fans and Sabin gives another wink to the camera as Monday Night RAW goes to commercial break.

The video package would go on to reveal a few shots of Lola’s venture in NXT where we last saw gyrating and fighting her way to becoming victorious in the women’s NXT breakout tournament before that corner of the company got frozen. The video package would finish up with a teaser for her debut in WWE.
