Biography:
Considered by many to be amongst the best amature wrestlers in America's history, Gable Steveson is a real American Hero. Winning three Big 10 championships, two NCAA Division 1 championships, and four world championships before finally reaching the pinnacle of American Sports by competing for an Olympic Gold Medal at the 2020 Tokyo Games. In a tense final round, Steveson scored a takedown in the final second against the reigning world champion to secure his spot as the second youngest US wrestling gold medalist in history. Steveson is a champion in every sense of the word.
After emerging as a hero to the American people in that year's Olympics, he caught the eye of WWE talent scouts and was soon signed to a developmental deal. But that was more than two years ago. Progress seems to have stalled, and the system seemingly lost all faith in what was once hailed as a "can't miss prospect." What was the problem? Was he just not getting the difference in physicality? Is he losing motivation? Was he not connecting with the fans? Trainers and so called "experts" were perplexed, but far too much has been put into Steveson to give up on him now. WWE officials were determined to unlock his potential, and desperate times call for desperate measures.
In what seemed like a losing effort to get the Olympic Champion ready for the big leagues, one final hail mary was put into action: WWE Hall of Famer and the only other Olympic Gold Medalist in WWE history, Kurt Angle, was brought out of retirement and would now personally oversee Steveson's development and path to success as a future WWE Champion!
