Monday Night RAW
June 10, 2024
Fargodome
Fargo, North Dakota
As the opening video package ends, pyro explodes on the stage as the crowd in Fargo, North Dakota is erupting in cheers. The cameras pan through the crowd, showing off various signs reading things like “DANHAUSEN, CURSE ME!”, “MARRY ME DAKOTA!”, “SACKS IN A VAULT QUALIFYING MATCH!” and more. After doing a pan of the Fargodome, the cameras settle in on the commentary table where we see the team of Michael Cole and Wade Barrett.
MICHAEL COLE: Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another rip-roaring episode of Monday Night RAW! I’m Michael Cole and alongside me is my broadcast partner, Wade Barrett!
WADE BARRETT: You know, Cole, tonight we’re kicking off the beginning of qualifiers for the Money in the Bank match spots and I’m excited! I’d be more excited if I didn’t have to see Danhausen though.
MICHAEL COLE: Hey, he didn’t do so bad last week when he faced Peter Dastardly!
WADE BARRETT: Don’t you besmirch the name of Pete Dunne like that ungrateful little waif of a man, Danhausen, if you can even call him a man!
MICHAEL COLE: Well, at least Dunne has a chance to get back on track by taking on Matt Sydal tonight. Should be a great match, right?
WADE BARRETT: Another lunatic, guy thinks he’s some sort of shaman or something. What the hell is this third eye he babbles on about all the time?
MICHAEL COLE: I don’t know what the third eye is, but I know Dakota is looking to pick up her third victory tonight on RAW. She’s got a qualifying match against KAIRI and I think this one is going to be a must watch!
WADE BARRETT: Dakota certainly hasn’t lost her edge even after being defeated in her first shot at the WWE Women’s Championship. She seems more determined than ever to get that opportunity and prove once and for all she’s at the top of our WWE women’s division!
MICHAEL COLE: She’s not the only one hoping to prove themselves though, because Britt Baker and Dawn Marie also square off for a qualifying match tonight!
WADE BARRETT: Dawn and Britt are going to really do their damndest as well. Both have a lot to prove to the WWE Universe in what some might say is their first real step towards becoming a standout in the WWE women’s division.
MICHAEL COLE: The Motor City Machine Guns are raring to make a statement in the tag team division as well. Now is the right time to do it, because Punk and Richards are probably chomping at the bit to see who steps up!
WADE BARRETT: The Best Tag Team In The World certainly made a statement when they regained the WWE Tag Team Championships last week. Our EVPs are going to have to lick their wounds after the Empty Arena match last week, so it’s a great opportunity for everyone in the tag division to step up their game.
MICHAEL COLE: The Rock might want to step up his game this week as well! I know he’s practically a legend in the wrestling business, but he needs to get back on track!
WADE BARRETT: It’s easy to get lost in your own ego sometimes, Cole, but I’ve got confidence that The People’s Champion will do just that when he steps in the ring with Danhausen. It’s insane that I even have to talk about a match between The Rock and that little twerp!
MICHAEL COLE: Not to mention it’s a Money in the Bank qualifier as well, and speaking of qualifiers Jay White is gonna be doing his best to win his qualifying match tonight as well!
WADE BARRETT: After the humiliation of two trips to Dick Kick City last week, it’s hard to imagine he’s going to be at the top of his game! Cardona and MJF really did a number on him last week, tonight he needs to pick up this victory or Unforgiven may have proven to be all for naught!
MICHAEL COLE: I’m ready for some hard-hitting action, let’s see what tonight has in store for us on Monday Night RAW!
LOOK IN MY EYES!
WHAT DO YOU SEE?
THE CULT OF PERSONALITY!
WADE BARRETT: Oh, spare me the pain. Having these guys out here is a terrible way to start the program!MICHAEL COLE: THE TWO TIME WWE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! WHAT A WAY TO START THINGS OFF HERE TONIGHT IN FARGO!
When we last saw Blackhawk’s fan, CM Punk, and his tag team partner, Larry’s Favorite Wrestler, Stevie Richards, they were barely standing after their historic Empty Arena Match against the former WWE World Tag Team Champions, the EVPs, The Young Bucks, Nick and Matt Jackson. As the opening to The Best Tag Team in the World’s music plays, Michael Cole recaps the crowd on what happened just one week ago on Monday Night RAW when CM Punk drove the Minnesota Wild Zamboni machine through a glass wall, then somehow managed to land a picture-perfect double clothesline off the top of it on to Nick and Matt, saving his partner, Stevie in the process.
MICHAEL COLE: There they are, Wade!
The camera cuts backstage to follow CM Punk and his partner walking from their locker room to the ring. On their way, they slap hands with various staff members passing by. The unlikely duo, the self-proclaimed BEST TAG TEAM IN THE WORLD pauses before reaching the curtain that leads to the entrance ramp.
STEVIE RICHARDS: Should we?
Richards, of course, is referring to should they ride the Zamboni machine that’s parked against the wall to the ring tonight. Punk laughs and pats his partner on the back.
CM PUNK: Not tonight, buddy. My Zamboni days are done. Come on, let’s go to the ring. Let’s give the fans what they want…an opportunity to celebrate with us.
For lack of a better expression, Punk looks beat. Seven days later he still looks tired, cut up and bruised from TBTTITW’s knock-out, drag-out brawl with the Bucks. Stevie takes a final look at the Fargodome’s trusty Zamboni, a gleaming white machine that temptation almost caused him to commandeer.
Entering through the curtain into the arena in front of the fans, the energy and excitement is contagious. Punk and Stevie can’t help but grin from ear to ear. The crowd tonight in Fargo, North Carolina, the beautiful roiling mass of humanity, chants their favorite tag team’s names. The fans come damn near unhinged at the sight of the champions.
As the ring announcer announces the new tag team champions, Punk and Stevie start walking to the ring slapping hands with the fans. Behind them, pyrotechnics explode, their entrance tonight is a bit more over the top than usual. Overhead there is a blinding display of color and sound. The lights and camera flashes cast shadows on the champions as Punk slowly makes his way up the ring steps. Stevie slides in under the bottom rope and dances across the ring.
As the chants for CM Punk and Stevie Richards begin to momentarily subside, The Best Tag Team in the World stands side by side in the center of all the excitement. Adrenaline pumps through their veins. For the past several months, these two have been inseparable in and out of the ring. And last Monday Night on RAW all of their hard work and dedication paid off. And, tonight, here in Fargo… these two men are on top of the world.
Stevie is the first to take the microphone.
STEVIE RICHARDS: How are we doing tonight, FARGO?!
Punk and Stevie’s victory last week was a hard-won battle. Grueling to say the least. And the match took the best of them, leaving them battered and bruised. But if you were to ask them, they would tell you that they would gladly do it over and over again. It is apparent that at this given moment, nothing could bring these two down or tear them apart. Their bond is currently stronger than ever.
As the chants for CM Punk start up again, Punk looks over at his partner, Stevie. Their eyes meet for a mere moment and a smile creeps across both of their faces. It was time. It was their time. Punk and Stevie had worked too hard to waste any more time. They had a world to conquer. Together. The beginning of their historic reign as the WWE Tag Team Champions began last week and as far as everyone here in Fargo tonight was concerned, the end is nowhere in sight.
Punk takes a step forward, slowly raising his injured right arm in Stevie’s direction. Confidence and contentment radiate from Punk's pores as Richards hands him the microphone. Punk clears his throat and holds the microphone up to his mouth.
CM PUNK: NOW…I THINK WHAT MY PARTNER WAS SAYING…FARGO…HOW THE HELL ARE YOU?!
The crowd begins to chant “C-M-PUNK, C-M-PUNK, C-M-PUNK!” Punk lets the fans go wild for a few seconds. Their cheers echo off the high ceilings of this historic arena and reverberate through the air CM Punk breathes. And then, in a voice that was equal parts raspy, smooth, and commanding, Punk holds the microphone back up to his lips and begins to speak.
CM PUNK: Fargo. You’re too kind.
Off microphone, Stevie mouths, “Really, you’re way too kind.”
CM PUNK: Tonight, Stevie and I stand here tonight not just as individuals, but as a team. As best friends. As the new…two-time…WWE World Tag Team Champions.
The crowd erupts again. Their cheers are a deafening roar.
CM PUNK: And tonight…the two of us stand here before you…and we are humbled. Humbled by the love you’re showing us.
”C-M-PUNK, C-M-PUNK, C-M-PUNK!”
Punk pauses again. He lets the fans chant and the anticipation for what he is going to say next builds, before continuing to speak.
CM PUNK: Now, Fargo…don’t get me wrong…we came out here tonight because we wanted to celebrate our victory with some of the greatest fans in professional wrestling. But we also wanted to come out here tonight to tell you guys that we may be the WWE World Tag Team Champions…we may have finally beat The Young Bucks…
Stevie leans over and his partner, Punk, holds the microphone up to his mouth to let him speak.
STEVIE RICHARDS: We may be champions, Fargo. But WE ARE NOT DONE YET.
Punk laughs and pulls the microphone back to his own mouth.
CM PUNK: That’s right, Stevie…in fact, Fargo…we are here tonight to let you guys know that we ARE JUST GETTING STARTED!
Beside Punk, Stevie struts around nodding and shaking his head with what I can only describe as fierce determination.
CM PUNK: We are going to take this championship and we are going to show not just you guys here in Fargo… but we are going to show our fans all across the globe what true fighting champions look like.
The front row pumps their fists in the air.
CM PUNK: We are going to defend these championship belts against ANY AND ALL challengers that step in our way. That crosses our path. That step up to the plate. We are going to wrestle every damn tag team here in the WWE over and over again until we can rest easy at night. Until we can go home, and I can kiss AJ and Larry and say, “Guess what, babe… we did it.” We are going to wrestle challengers young and old… guys who are new to this sport… or veterans who just won’t quit and hang up their boots. We are going to wrestle any team that challenges us until we can safely stand in front of you guys, the fans, and say… “We’re done. We’ve proven ourselves to not only be the greatest but to be THE BEST TAG TEAM IN THE WORLD.” And Fargo… let me tell you why that makes you special… because each and every one of you will be able to say you were here, tonight when Stevie and I proclaimed our reign had begun. Soon you’ll all be able to say that you witnessed greatness. Living, breathing, history being made. FARGO… TELL ME… TELL ME, FARGO… TELL ME WHEN STEVIE RICHARDS AND CM PUNK ARE TELLIN’ LIES!
With a wild look of determination, Punk moans, and groans, holding the microphone above his head. The tag team champions bask in the adulation of the crowd. At this particular moment in time, it is hard to imagine anything or anybody getting in their way.
WADE BARRETT: I think I am going to get sick, Cole.
MICHAEL COLE: You get sick quite often, don’t you?
WADE BARRETT: Only when I have to endure insufferable egos like the one CM Punk has!
MICHAEL COLE: Come on! It’s great to have The Best Tag Team In The World back as WWE Tag Team Champions! They want to elevate the division to new levels and I think it speaks volumes for the dedication!
WADE BARRETT: Let’s just hope this match isn’t as insufferable as our current WWE Tag Team Champions. I’d like to take my mind off of them with a little action!
"Eye in The Sky" by The Alan Parsons Project begins to play as Matt Sydal makes his way out onto the stage and points out towards the crowd as they cheer for his arrival. Sydal gets a carefree smile on his face as he points to his third eye on his forehead before assuming a praying position with his hands in front of him and tosses his arms out to the side, breathing in the atmosphere of the Fargodome in North Dakota before he makes his way down to the ring.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Making his way to the ring, The Zen Jaguar Shaman, Maaatt Syyydal!
MICHAEL COLE: An impressive effort last week from Sydal, he definitely brought it as best as he could to the veteran Vampiro. I'm honestly surprised that he's even able to be out here right now after the damage he took last week!
WADE BARRETT: He certainly has nothing to be ashamed about with his performance last week, aside from the fact that Vampiro is probably falling apart physically at this point of his career.
MICHAEL COLE: I don't think you're giving either man enough credit, Wade. Vampiro and Sydal really did put on a hell of a match last week, both men clearly want to prove themselves.
WADE BARRETT: Well if Sydal wants to prove himself, tonight is the night to do it. Beating Dunne certainly isn't going to be easy in the least bit!
As Sydal gets into the ring, he runs to the turnbuckle corner and jumps up to the second rope as he tries to get the fans going before this one even starts. The crowd does cheer him on a bit as he throws that charming smile he has the fans way. However, it doesn't last for very long as "Too Fast for a U-Turn" by Lit begins to play and Pete Dunne makes his way to the stage with a furious expression on his face, slapping himself in the face a few times before he pops in a mouthguard and makes his way to the ring confidently. The crowd boos him as he doesn't even give them a moment of his attention, focusing directly on Sydal who is waiting in the ring.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: And his opponent, The Bruiserweight, Peeete Dunne!
MICHAEL COLE: All business as usual for Dunne!
WADE BARRETT: Dunne is a fighter! He doesn't need fanfare, Cole!
MICHAEL COLE: Well he certainly doesn't seem to care for it!
SINGLES MATCH
Pete Dunne doesn't even stand a chance to get in the ring as Sydal leaps over the top rope with a Spaceman Plancha that wipes him out on the floor outside of the ring. A couple ringside attendants have to quickly scramble out of the way as the men crash to the floor. Sydal however isn't done as he ascends the ring steps and moonsaults off of them, landing squarely on Dunne to drill some more damage into his midsection. Grabbing his opponent by the back of the neck, Sydal points at his forehead as he comments about his third eye telling him not to mess around! Sydal now takes Dunne by the back of the neck and runs him headfirst into the steel ring stairs as they break apart with a loud CRASH!
MICHAEL COLE: Dunne was certainly ruthless last week, so you can't blame Sydal for his aggression here!
WADE BARRETT: Sydal can't just attack him before the bell even rings! This is cheating plain and simple, Cole!
MICHAEL COLE: Technically he's within his rights to do whatever he wants before the bell rings. Until Dunne has crossed the threshold of the ring, he's fair game for any opportunity that Sydal has!
The referee warns Sydal that he will disqualify him if he doesn't get Dunne into the ring. Sydal reluctantly picks Dunne up and rolls him into the ring after he lifts him by the back of his tights. Sydal now climbs onto the apron as he ascends the turnbuckle corner and lines up his shot, backflipping off the top as he twists with a corkscrew motion and nails a senton onto Dunne and knocks the wind out of him as Dunne sits up holding his ribs. Sydal now whips him to the ropes and as he comes back nails an arm drag, following it up with a spinning wheel kick that knocks Dunne to the canvas again as Sydal hooks the legs quickly, 1...2...NO! Dunne gets the shoulder up and Sydal slaps the canvas in frustration.
WADE BARRETT: Dunne isn't going down that easy!
MICHAEL COLE: He might want to consider it after being manhandled like this by Sydal!
WADE BARRETT: I'd like to think Danhausen winning was the pinnacle of embarrassments in Dunne's career.
Both men are on their feet now as Dunne goes for a clothesline but Sydal ducks under and jumps up nailing a cutter on his opponent as he turns around! Both men taking a second to breathe now, Sydal kips up to his feet though and the crowd are behind him now! As Dunne finally gets to his feet, he doesn't even have a chance to prepare for the flurry of kicks that are coming his way, to the chest, to the shin, to the ribs, and finally an enziguri that knocks him for a loop as he wobbles for a moment. Sydal now whips Dunne into the turnbuckle and rushes in springing to the top rope before dropping down with a Meteora connecting flush to the chest of Dunne!
MICHAEL COLE: Good lord that can't have felt good!
WADE BARRETT: Fight back Dunne! Come on, man!
As Dunne comes out of the corner towards Sydal he looks like he's about to punch him, but Sydal merely shoves him backward with a foot as he crashes to the canvas. The crowd roars with approval as Sydal hypes them up by raising his arms up repeatedly to encourage them to get louder and he points to the turnbuckle corner, and they do get louder! Sydal now hops up to the top rope with the ease of a cat as he spins around and looks down at his opponent. Sydal takes the opportunity to close his eyes for a moment and pray before he leaps off with a Shooting Star Press that connects flush on his opponent as he hooks the legs of Dunne one more time, 1…2…3! Sydal has done it!
WINNER
MATT SYDAL
05:52 via PINFALL
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Here is your winner; The Zen Jaguar Shaman, MAAATT SYYYDAL!
MICHAEL COLE: He actually did it, Wade! He beat Pete Dunne!
WADE BARRETT: I'm as shocked as you are, Cole! NO! I'm disgusted, is what I am! Pete Dunne failed to get the job done for the second week in a row and I can't imagine it speaks well for his future here!
As Sydal mounts the turnbuckle corner the fans are cheering him on as he points at the center of his forehead and raises his arms in the air for the victory. The referee checks on Dunne who at this point can't seem to catch his breath again. Sydal hops down and looks at Dunne for a moment before the referee tentatively blocks Sydal from an attack that may be coming but he merely seems to check in before exiting the ring before he makes his way up the ramp and raises his arms again for his victory on the way out.
The cameras go to the backstage area where we’re taken to the office of WWE Co-Owner, Stephanie McMahon. The Fargo crowd boos at the sight of the executive, but she doesn’t let this faze her as a smile crosses her face. After the boos die down, Stephanie addresses the crowd.
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. You just witnessed an incredible opening match between Matt Sydal and Pete Dunne, where Matt Sydal was able to get the victory and show that he truly deserves to be in the WWE. But that’s not what I want to talk to you about tonight. Instead, I want to talk about the Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Becky Lynch.
The audience pops at the mention of “The Man” which causes Stephanie to smirk. As the crowd settles down, she continues on.
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: It’s great that you all love her so much, and I’m sure you’ve all been looking forward to seeing her for the last week. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen tonight.
The crowd boos once again, which causes a bigger smile to break out on Stephanie’s face.
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: Aww, I’m so sorry to disappoint you all, but it really was necessary. See, I didn’t appreciate how Becky just barged into my office last week, so I thought she could benefit from taking a week off to really think about her actions. So, Becky Lynch is not here tonight. However, she will be back next week when we’re live from Billings, Montana, and I expect her to meet with me to not only discuss what’s next for her as the Women’s Intercontinental Champion but to also publicly apologize to me for the months of disrespect. Becky, I know you’re watching, so I hope you’re prepared to finally fall in line next week. Because if you don’t, the consequences will be severe.
The smile leaves Stephanie’s face as she looks into the camera with a hardened, intense gaze as it slowly fades out.
The screen now fades in to reveal a single dim light bulb hanging from the ceiling, swaying gently. Beneath it stands Solo Sikoa, his face partially obscured by shadows. The rest of the room is shrouded in darkness, amplifying the intensity of the moment. Solo Sikoa, dressed in a black leather jacket, steps forward into the dim light, his expression fierce and unyielding.
SOLO SIKOA: In this world, there are few things that hold true power. Tradition, heritage, honor…these are not just words. They are the pillars upon which the strongest legacies are built. And in the WWE, those pillars have been crumbling, disrespected by those who don't understand their weight.
He pauses, his eyes narrowing as he looks directly into the camera, the light casting sharp shadows across his face.
SOLO SIKOA: Listen carefully. I am Solo Sikoa, and I am here to remind you all of what true power looks like. I come from a bloodline where tradition is sacred, where every drop of blood spilled, every scar earned, tells a story of honor and strength. But lately, I've seen this ring polluted by those who have forgotten these values, who have no respect for the legacy that men before them built with their own blood and sweat.
The light bulb continues to sway, casting eerie shadows around the room. Solo's voice lowers, becoming even more menacing.
SOLO SIKOA: You think you can step into this ring without acknowledging the warriors who came before you? You think you can disrespect the heritage that built this empire? I’m here to tell you that you are gravely mistaken. Tradition means something. It demands respect. And if you are not willing to acknowledge it, then I will make you acknowledge it... by force.
He steps closer to the camera, his voice a low, threatening growl.
SOLO SIKOA: I am the Enforcer, the Street Champion. I will cleanse this ring of its pretenders, its cowards, and its weaklings. I will remind each and every one of you what true power, true honor, looks like. No one is safe from the reckoning that is coming. When you see me standing across from you, know this: I am not just fighting for myself. I am fighting for my ancestors, for my heritage, for every warrior who came before me.
The light flickers, casting momentary darkness before illuminating Solo Sikoa's fierce gaze once more.
SOLO SIKOA: WWE, get ready. Because I am here to restore what has been lost. I am here to make you remember. And if you refuse to bow to tradition, I will break you and force you to your knees. The storm is coming, and its name is Solo Sikoa.
With that, the light bulb flickers one last time before plunging the room into complete darkness. The scene fades out, leaving the audience with a sense of impending doom and the unmistakable presence of Solo Sikoa looming large in their minds as the cameras go back to ringside.
MICHAEL COLE: Solo Sikoa has got some strong words there for the WWE superstars! Hasn’t even stepped in the ring yet but he’s already talking about cleansing the filth from WWE!
WADE BARRETT: He’s an absolute beast, Cole! Sikoa has been an unstoppable force before, we’ve both seen what he’s capable of with just one thumb!
MICHAEL COLE: I certainly wouldn’t want to get on his bad side!
WADE BARRETT: Then you better keep your mouth shut, Cole! He never said he wasn’t going to cleanse the commentary team as well!
”Kombat (Remix)” by Def Rebel begins to play after an ear-piercing scream wakes up the WWE Universe, and the unnerving bass tones alert them to the arrival of Dakota Kai! She makes her way onto the stage with a chilling look in her eyes as she practically snarls while she crouches down and then raises her arm into the air with her signature badass taunt before punching it out at the crowd and making her way down the ramp.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: The following contest is a Money in the Bank qualifying match! Making her way to the ring first, Daaakotaaa Kaaai!
MICHAEL COLE: Dakota Kai has been impressive since her debut, and she never fails to disappoint. Her tactics may not be for everybody but she knows how to get the job done!
WADE BARRETT: Dakota is exactly what this women’s division needs; she may not have had luck on her side, but she took the WWE Women’s Champion to the limit at Unforgiven. If she wins that Money in the Bank briefcase, I can only imagine how dangerous it’s going to be when she cashes it in!
MICHAEL COLE: Tonight she’s going up against a former friend, but she’s made it clear that it’s not going to affect her performance. While she respects her former ally, she doesn’t have any interest in taking it easy on anybody she gets in the ring with!
Dakota doesn’t have that usual bounce to her step and instead seems to have her focus set on what’s about to occur as she walks along the apron before she enters the ring, cranes her neck to each side, loosens up her arms by rotating each one around a couple of times, and crouches down to prepare for the oncoming KAIRI as she stares up the rampway. “The Last Voyage” now plays as KAIRI smiles on her way out to the stage and holds the ship’s helm in her hand and braces it on her shoulder as she stares out to the crowd and puts her free hand over her eyes to scan the crowd as she blocks out the bright lights of the arena from disturbing her enjoyment of the sea of faces in the WWE Universe!
SAMANTHA IRVIN: And her opponent, making her voyage from the seas of Japan, KAAAIIIRI!
MICHAEL COLE: KAIRI made an impressive showing last week, she defeated a much more physically imposing opponent last week in Kamille!
WADE BARRETT: It was definitely impressive, Cole. However, let’s not forget that Kamille isn’t her opponent here tonight. She’s dealing with a woman that knows exactly how she operates!
MICHAEL COLE: Both Dakota and KAIRI are quick on their feet, and it’ll certainly be interesting to see who comes out on top here!
WADE BARRETT: I can’t wait for it, Cole!
As KAIRI makes her way down to the ring, she seems to take more carefree enjoyment of the crowd’s approval as she spins the helm wheel. As she reaches the bottom of the rampway, she practically dances with grace as she has her arms out to the side and seemingly floats her way up the ring stair and ascends the turnbuckle post from the outside before standing atop it on the top rope.
SINGLES MATCH
Dakota rushes forward to knock her opponent off the top rope, but KAIRI merely jumps over her opponent as she rolls forward after she lands on her feet and spins around as she prepares for the now-infuriated Kai, who spins around after the failed attempt. As Dakota rushes in again, she’s ill-prepared for the spinning back fist Cutlass that knocks her square in the jaw! KAIRI follows it up with three quick forearm strikes and then crouches down as she spins her leg around and sweeps Dakota’s feet out from under her! Both women are quick to get back to their feet, but KAIRI jumps up and nails a dropkick that sends Dakota into the ring ropes as she catches herself on them with an arm so that she doesn’t bounce back into the second one that makes KAIRI land on her back, which she now grabs at in pain from the impact.
MICHAEL COLE: KAIRI is making life difficult for Dakota in this one!
WADE BARRETT: Dakota scouted that second dropkick though and now she needs to take advantage of the opening after the miss by KAIRI!
KAIRI tries to lock up with Dakota, but Dakota continually moves out of reach just in the nick of time as she taunts her opponent and grabs the ropes when KAIRI finally manages to grab onto her, so that KAIRI is forced to break the hold. The crowd’s boos loudly at Dakota when she exits the ring to get out of KAIRI's reach and drops to the floor outside to collect herself. KAIRI follows Dakota out and chases her back into the ring. With both women back inside now, Dakota lands a dropkick to the knees just as KAIRI slides in and stands up; Dakota lands a few kicks to the chest of KAIRI as she’s on her knees and then hits a snap DDT on KAIRI! Dakota pins, 1…2…but the referee stops and points to the foot on the rope as Dakota slaps the canvas in frustration. Dakota gets up and yanks KAIRI hard away from the ropes and pins again after she hooks both legs and clutches the outside arm, 1…2…but KAIRI kicks out by force!
MICHAEL COLE: Dakota’s doing a wonderful job at keeping KAIRI off her feet but it’s just not been enough to make her stay off of them!
WADE BARRETT: She’s focused on her goal, KAIRI may want this but Dakota needs this qualifying match! She’s intent on getting her hands on Serena Deeb one more time so that she can prove she’s the better woman by taking that WWE Women’s Championship away. The only way to do that is by getting through KAIRI tonight and going after that briefcase!
KAIRI uses the ropes to stand up and manages to leap over a low kick for her ankles by Dakota. Both women spin around to face each other again, and KAIRI runs in and connects with an arm drag that disorients Dakota enough for KAIRI to connect with her Tokyo Slam! This gets a loud crowd pop, KAIRI hooks the legs as she tries to put as much weight on Dakota as she can while she goes for the pin, 1…2, but Dakota manages to kick out! Neither KAIRI nor the WWE Universe can believe it, but as she gets to her feet, Dakota nails a drop-toehold that manages to tie KAIRI up in the ropes. Dakota grabs KAIRI under the chin and pulls back, trapping her arms over the top rope, using the position to her full advantage with unprotected, measured punches to the temple. Dakota follows up with several elbow smashes into the lower back of her opponent as she releases the hold on KAIRI’s chin, and she collapses, laying over the second rope, and hangs outside the ring for a moment. KAIRI flops onto the apron now as Dakota patiently waits for her opponent to slowly get to her feet, and Dakota nails her with a bicycle kick that sends her flying into the barricade on the outside!
MICHAEL COLE: It’s just been punishing blow after punishing blow here by Dakota Kai!
WADE BARRETT: Dakota knows that if KAIRI gets a head of steam behind her it’s going to shift the momentum. She can’t afford to lose this one and she’s showing she has no intention of doing so!
Dakota heads to the top rope and dives for KAIRI from the top, but KAIRI superkicks Dakota nearly out of her boots, and as she lands, she teeters like she’s dead on her feet. KAIRI quickly executes a release suplex, which sets up Dakota for what follows next, which is the Interceptor on the outside! KAIRI scrambles to lift the deadweight of Dakota and roll her into the ring, and finally she gets a cover on Dakota as she slides in herself, 1…2…3! NO! Dakota’s shoulder manages to shoot up off the canvas at the last second! KAIRI tries to drag Dakota up, but Dakota nails a series of elbows to the gut of KAIRI and flings her over onto the mat with a back-body drop. Dakota now grabs and holds KAIRI's arm as both stars get up, and Dakota connects with not one or two but four short-arm clotheslines, each getting bigger and bigger boos from the crowd. Dakota rears back for another, but KAIRI avoids the fifth by ducking underneath and hitting another superkick that pops the crowd in North Dakota! Both women are struggling to catch their breath, but Dakota gets up, bounces off the ropes, and runs right into KAIRI's Interceptor yet again! KAIRI and Dakota lay on the canvas with obvious labored breathing, as there's not enough in KAIRI to even attempt a cover this time.
MICHAEL COLE: What a showing by these two ladies tonight, Wade!
WADE BARRETT: I’m almost disappointed to know we can’t have both of them competing in that Money in the Bank qualifying match!
MICHAEL COLE: It certainly feels like they’ve both earned it at this point in the match!
KAIRI is first to her feet, but Dakota gets up only a second later than her, and both ladies nod their heads to one another. Dakota has an evil grin on her face as she watches KAIRI get a smile of her own before waving at Dakota to come at her. As Dakota rushes in, though, she gets monkey flipped onto her back while KAIRI hops up to the second rope. KAIRI flies off with her elbow pointed at the heart of her opponent, but Dakota rolls out of the way and the elbow slams straight into the canvas! Dakota pops up and lands a kick straight into the face of KAIRI. She lifts KAIRI onto her shoulders and drops her into the Go To Kick! Dakota pulls back on the leg of KAIRI as the referee makes the pin, 1….2….THR-NO! KAIRI has managed to get the shoulder up again, and Dakota’s eyes are as wide as saucers as she can’t believe it!
WADE BARRETT: Dakota can’t even fathom what just happened! Hell, I can’t fathom what just happened!
MICHAEL COLE: KAIRI is just not ready to admit defeat yet!
Dakota tries to search for what it will take to end KAIRI tonight, and as KAIRI struggles to get to her feet, Dakota pulls her in by wrapping an arm around the neck of KAIRI as she turns her back to the referee. Dakota now rakes the eyes and then turns and shoves KAIRI into the official, which knocks the official down to the canvas. The official is down and holds onto their head as they writhe on the canvas a bit. Dakota removes the top turnbuckle pad and then rams KAIRI head first into the exposed top turnbuckle and presses her back into the corner, as it’s obviously knocked her out of it. Dakota isn’t finished yet, though, as she sprints across the ring, turns, screams, and runs in and connects with her Kaio Kick! KAIRI crumbles out of the corner as Dakota scoops her into an inside cradle and hooks the legs as she tucks in the arm of KAIRI to avoid any possible rope breaks! The official slowly counts the pinfall as they are finally rousing and realize there’s a pin. 1…2...3! Dakota Kai finally puts her opponent away!

SAMANTHA IRVIN: Here is your winner, DAAAKOTAAA KAIII!
MICHAEL COLE: Ruthless! Absolutely ruthless by Dakota Kai!
WADE BARRETT: It was the only way to get the job done, Cole! She said it as we were heading into the match this week, she’s going to do whatever it takes from now on!
MICHAEL COLE: Well as disappointing as those final moments might be for any KAIRI fans, they certainly can’t be disappointed with how impressive she looked in this one!
Dakota neglects the fans who jeer her as she rolls out of the ring, and as Dakota makes her way backstage, she begins to mock the fans by making wiping tears motions at the crybabies in the audience who are disappointed with her actions. KAIRI is coming around now, as she’s still feeling the effects of the ring post. The official assists KAIRI to her feet slowly as they put an arm around her and help her make her way backstage to get checked over. The fans give KAIRI a standing ovation, as she’s still managed to get to her feet after such a brutal match that took place.
The WWE Universe in Fargo, North Dakota have been vocal all night, showing their appreciation for the WWE’s flagship show, RAW. They get even more vocal, however, as the TitanTron clicks to life showing “Big Daddy Cool” Diesel traversing the backstage area of the Fargodome. The big man notices the cameras and decides to address the WWE Universe.
DIESEL: I know…I know. I heard.
Sitting atop the big man’s shoulder is the WWE Championship, and he moves it from one shoulder to the other as he continues.
DIESEL: I heard what Prince Nana had to say on his little WWE.com exclusive. More of the same as far as I’m concerned. Swerve is coming back to get his title, huh? From where I’m standing, the business between Swerve and I has been settled. But, when you’re at the forefront of the new era of the WWE like myself, you’ve got to keep your head on a swivel. If Nana and Swerve disagree with me, if they think our business isn’t settled, then very simply put, they’re going to have to prove themselves. As the champion, I’ve got a company I’m responsible for, and if Swerve wants back in the title picture, he’s going to have to prove himself. But, I’ll have more to say about that in the ring later tonight, in front of the WWE universe.
With that, short and sweet, the big man continues walking down the hallway.
MICHAEL COLE: Very interesting comments there from the WWE Champion, Wade! It sounds like he took notice of what Prince Nana had to say on the website, but he doesn’t seem convinced that Swerve Strickland is due a rematch for the WWE Championship!
WADE BARRETT: He doesn’t seem convinced!? Well, he’s the ONLY one! Swerve Strickland is due a rematch for the title and he deserves that match immediately!
MICHAEL COLE: I guess we’re going to find out more, because as Big Daddy Cool said, he plans on addressing the WWE Universe tonight, in the ring!
WADE BARRETT: You’ll have to excuse me if I skip out on that, I can’t respect anyone who says Swerve Strickland isn’t due a rematch!
MICHAEL COLE: Well one thing we can’t skip out on is our next match, when Motor City Machine Guns take on the returning team of The Basham Brothers! The Guns have been eager to make a name for themselves since signing with WWE and tonight they have a chance to take out a legendary tag team!
As soon as the music hits there is a huge pop and mixed reaction as Eric Bischoff makes his way out to the entrance way. He looks around and gives his normal big toothy smile as he begins to walk down the ramp.
Eric reaches the ring and instead of walking up the steel steps and begins to walk around the side and walks toward the commentary table. Michael Cole has a puzzled look on his face as Wade Barrett rises to his feet and reaches out his hand to shake Bischoff's. Bischoff throws on the spare headset and takes a seat.
MICHAEL COLE: What are you doing here?
WADE BARRETT: Cole is that anyway to speak to one of the men who was a pillar to wrestling's greatest boom period?
ERIC BISCHOFF: It's fine, I've never really cared that much for what a puppet like Michael Cole has to say.
MICHAEL COLE: That might be a little rough, I just wanted to know why you were coming out here. We hadn't been told we would have a guest at the table.
ERIC BISCHOFF: Last I knew, I could do what I want. And what I want to do is see this match up close. So that's what I'm going to do, and maybe you can learn a thing or two about being a real play by play man.
WADE BARRETT: I am more than happy to learn at the feet of one of the greats!
"Six Barrel Shotgun" by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club hits the P/A system of the Fargodome as Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin of the Motor City Machine Guns make their way out to the top of the stage. Sabin gives a finger gun to the camera as he winks at the same time and Shelley smirks as he opens the vest he's wearing to reveal his physique before spreading his arms out to the side and shoots a finger gun from each hand into the air.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Making their way to the ring, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, THE MOOOTOR CIIITTY MAAACHIIINE GUUUNNSSS!
MICHAEL COLE: Well, a team that has been getting a lot of people's attention as of late. And I believe you had a good chat with them last week, isn't that right Eric?
ERIC BISCHOFF: I think I've earned the right to be called Mr. Bischoff, since I was running a wrestling empire while you were running around backstage in bad frosted tips.
WADE BARRETT: Mr. Bischoff, you said a few weeks ago you had your eye on the tag team division to add to your new group. Motor City Machine Guns are a veterans’ presence that you have a history with. They'd be a perfect addition.
ERIC BISCHOFF: You have such great knowledge Wade. And I agree they are at the top of my list. Also, you can call me Eric.
“Battle Without Honor or Humanity” by Tomoyasu Hotei hits and out walk Danny and Doug Basham. They look exactly the same as the last time they were in the WWE. Both with determination in their eyes as they give each other a few slaps to the head to psyche them up and then they stomp to the ring.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: And their opponents, from Columbus, Ohio. Doug and Danny, THE BAAASHAM BROTHERRRS
MICHAEL COLE: We haven't seen the Bashams since 2008. I'm interested to see what brought them here.
WADE BARRETT: The wrestling world has been put on notice far and wide that Eric Bischoff is looking for a tag team to give his tutelage to. I'm surprised more people haven't come out of the wood work.
ERIC BISCHOFF: You aren't wrong, Wade. My phone hasn't stopped ringing with tag teams begging for five minutes of attention from me. I invited the Bashams here tonight because they have a history of being great enforcers for factions before. And they take direction when need be.
The Basham Brothers get into the ring and as soon as they step in Shelley and Sabin immediately jump them with forearms. All four men begin to trade shots back and forth in corners as the bell rings to start the match.
TAG TEAM MATCH
With the match already having started both Bashams get the upper hands in the corners. They each whip Shelley and Sabin into the center of the ring. Instead of colliding, they side step one another and both return to the opposite corner with matching flying forearms rocking the Bashams in the corners. Doug rolls out of the ring, but Danny stumbles into the middle of the ring. He is met with a quick double team as Sabin sweeps his legs from behind as Shelley hits a hard leg lariat from the front.
MICHAEL COLE: Machine Guns are starting this match off quicker and more aggressive than we've seen from them.
WADE BARRETT: I wonder why that is, perhaps because they know they have a special audience?
ERIC BISCHOFF: I'll be honest, I don't think this team needs any special motivation, but I did let them know I'd be watching.
Sabin steps out of the ring and Shelley is left with a disorientated Danny on one knee. Without any hesitation Shelley bounces off the ropes and dropkicks Danny right in the face which sends the younger Basham backwards slamming the back of his head on the mat. Shelley grabs Danny by the back of the head and brings him to his feet. He tags Sabin in, then throws Danny to the ropes. As Danny bounces back Shelley gives him a reverse atomic drop, less than a second after Sabin comes in with a dropkick to Danny's knee which sends him face first into the canvas. Like lightning, Shelley bounces off the ropes and rolls over Danny's body grabbing the back of his head and pulling it up to be met with another full dropkick to the face from Sabin. As both get up they see Doug walking in trying to intervene, both Sabin and Shelley give a kick to Doug's gut to stomp him in his tracks. Then they deliver stereo superkicks to either side of the elder Basham's skull, the sound of the crack echoing in the arena.
WADE BARRETT: I can't believe my eyes, these two are lightning fast.
ERIC BISCHOFF: This is the type of team you want; they don't need to talk in the ring...they know what the other is thinking. Split second decisions like that are shared instinct.
MICHAEL COLE: No one has ever said Motor City Machine Guns aren't an incredible team. But I've never thought of them as a team who would align themselves with an Eric Bischoff.
ERIC BISCHOFF: That's because like so many others like you Cole, you have zero vision and that's why you've been stuck where you have been for decades.
Sabin and Danny are the legal men. Danny tries to fight back with two wide punches to Sabin's ribs, but they have little effect. Sabin comes back with a few well-placed punches himself before bouncing off the ropes, he pushes himself up on Danny and delivers a standing tornado DDT that plants his opponent squarely on the top of his head. Sabin gets to one knee, and he sees the barely conscious Basham next to him and then looks up to see Doug pulling himself back up to his corner. Without hesitation Sabin sprints toward the corner and jumps between the ropes, spearing Doug from the apron and crashing straight into the wall that protects the time keeper's table.
MICHAEL COLE: OH MY GOD! Why, why when you have a match so in hand would you take that kind of risk?
WADE BARRETT: It's not a risk when you know what you are doing, and the Machine Guns have decided to make a statement here tonight!
ERIC BISCHOFF: I've got to agree with you, calculated risks are how you push yourself to the top. Anyone can play it safe, but can you be that performer the fans are talking about as they leave the arena at the end of the night?
Sabin shakes the cobwebs a little loose as he did take a bit of a hit too. He sprints back into the ring and tags Shelley in. Shelley points to the corner and the fans erupt, he and Sabin drag Danny to the corner. Sabin sits Danny on the top turnbuckle facing out. Shelley climbs to the top on the side and brings Danny up. Sabin gets between Danny's legs as Shelley jumps back and a huge Slice Bread #2 and powerbomb combo plants Danny in the middle of the ring. The roof explodes from the fans seeing the move. Sabin looks over at Shelley and puts his finger as if to say one more thing. Shelley shakes his head and then brings the barely conscious Danny Basham to his feet only for ASCS RUSH!!!!!! The lightning-fast kick combinations solidifies that Danny is out cold. Shelley goes for the cover 1...2....3!!!! The bell rings as the match is over with a huge Machine Guns victory!

SAMANTHA IRVIN: Here are your winners....THE MOOOTOOOR CIIITTYYYY MAAAACHIIINNNEE GUUUNNSS!!
MICHAEL COLE: This match was pretty one sided, but I can't say I'm all that surprised. Shelley and Sabin have never stopped wrestling, while Doug and Danny might have a little ring rust still to be knocked off.
WADE BARRETT: One sided? This was a clinical car wreck of a match. I've never seen so many insane moves one after the other. All that matters though, is if Mr. Bischoff saw what he needed to see today.
ERIC BISCHOFF: You better believe I saw what I needed to see here. This match only confirmed what I had been thinking for the last week. Thank you both for letting me sit in with you, well maybe thank you Wade a little more than Michael.
Inside the ring Shelley and Sabin are still celebrating. Bischoff gets up from the table and starts clapping for them as he slowly makes his way around the ring. He catches their eye, and you see them yelling something to him with smiles on their faces. Bischoff nods to them with a smirk, gives a few more claps and then walks up the ramp as the Machine Guns celebrate with the crowd a bit more as the camera fades out to commercial.
Tune in next week as the Money in the Bank qualifying matches continue!
