Monday Night RAW
July 8, 2024
T-Mobile Arena
Las Vegas, Nevada
As the opening video package ends, pyro explodes on the stage as the crowd in Las Vegas is erupting in cheers. The cameras pan through the crowd, showing off various signs reading things like “Down With The Patriarchy!”, “I Love Women’s Wrestling!”, “Adam Cole, Bay-Bay!” and more. After doing a pan of the T-Mobile Arena, the cameras settle in on the commentary table where we see the team of Michael Cole and Wade Barrett.
MICHAEL COLE: Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another rip-roaring episode of Monday Night RAW! I’m Michael Cole and alongside me is my broadcast partner, Wade Barrett!
WADE BARRETT: What a night of action we have planned for us tonight, Cole! The bitter rivalry between The Patriarchy and Mankind comes to a head tonight when we see Mankind take on the WWE Intercontinental Champion and Patriarchy leader, Christian Cage!
MICHAEL COLE: I don’t know about you, Wade, but I’m not sure I’d want to be in Christian’s shoes tonight. As much as he may not believe in the capabilities of Mankind, he’s proven to be far better than Christian gives him credit for since he came back. He almost managed to get a clean victory over a much younger, Nick Wayne who is another member of The Patriarchy only a few weeks ago!
WADE BARRETT: I’m not sure which man truly has the advantage but it’s certainly going to be interesting to see what happens. As far as interesting situations, Toni Storm and Britt Baker teaming up to face Isla Dawn and Dakota Kai is certainly going to be one. Both teams are women that will be fighting each other come time for our Premium Live Event this Sunday for an opportunity at that Money in the Bank briefcase!
MICHAEL COLE: Only time will tell if those ladies will be able to work together towards a common goal. You have to imagine that some of the women might get some ideas about taking advantage of their partners should opportunities arise!
WADE BARRETT: You also have to imagine that Goldust and Fallon Henley will be looking to make the most of their matches as well. Both of those superstars are also heading towards Money in the Bank, and a victory in their favor would really bolster their spirits!
MICHAEL COLE: But their opponents, Adam Cole and Jakara Jackson, might want to halt that momentum and take it for themselves in helping to build themselves up towards whatever goals they have for the future!
WADE BARRETT: Brody King is certainly looking like he’s going to have a bright future after last week and Seth Rollins is in his way. While Seth might be stepping into the ring soon after being nursed back to health you have to imagine this isn’t quite the test he’d like to be facing.
MICHAEL COLE: He’s certainly got the deck stacked against him, but he’s known for being able to work himself out of plenty of situations he didn’t look like he was favored in. Even managed to become WWE Champion in quite a few of those instances in the past!
WADE BARRETT: We’ll just have to see how crafty he can get, much like The Ultimate Opportunist who’ll be facing Christopher Daniels. After that loss last week to Brody King you have to imagine he’s looking for some retribution!
MICHAEL COLE: Edge certainly would like to get a victory as well. Not the best run of luck for him lately, but a win over Daniels just might kick start him in the right direction. But let’s get to the action Wade, because I’m dying to see what these superstars have in store for us tonight!
From the voices of WWE RAW, Michael Cole and Wade Barrett, we head backstage where Byron Saxton is standing by holding a microphone, standing in front of a WWE RAW backdrop.
BYRON SAXTON: Good evening and welcome to Monday Night RAW, ladies and gentlemen! I’m standing by with - -
Before Byron has the opportunity to introduce his guest, the T-Mobile Arena explodes as the WWE Champion, “Big Daddy Cool” Diesel, fills the screen next to Saxton.
BYRON SAXTON: It sounds like the WWE Universe here in Las Vegas, Nevada is ready for my guest, ladies and gentlemen, your WWE Champion…“Big Daddy Cool” Diesel!
“Big Daddy Cool” stands next to Saxton, his arms at his sides and the WWE Championship over his shoulder.
BYRON SAXTON: Well big man, I want to thank you for taking a moment to speak with me here in front of the WWE Universe in Las Vegas. You had a major announcement last week…
DIESEL: It seems that way, doesn’t it? You know, not many champions take it upon themselves to name their next challenger, and fewer still take it upon themselves to pick as challenging an opponent as I did. Sure, I could’ve taken the easy way out and picked someone less physically gifted as the man I picked, and could you have blamed me? I’m a man that appreciates working smarter and not harder, but as the face of the WWE, I felt it important to not only challenge myself, but to reward the man that is seen as the future of our business.
BYRON SAXTON: And the WWE Universe has been buzzing since your announcement. It sounds like you recognize that a challenge awaits you.
DIESEL: Without a doubt. It’s like I said, not only have I set out to challenge myself, but I wanted to reward someone that virtually everyone sees as the future of our business. Someone with all the tools. Someone who is as much a can’t miss prospect as we’ve seen in our business in a long, long time. That’s my role as the face of this company, to recognize the future when I see it.
BYRON SAXTON: Well your opponent is certainly that if you ask just about anyone in the locker room.
DIESEL: That’s what I hear. But, when we get in the ring, it’s not going to be about the future, it’s going to be about the here and now. My opponent has all the tools to lead this company into the future, but he’s got to worry about the here and now when he gets in the ring with Big Daddy Cool. You see, Bronn Breakker - -
Just as Diesel mentions his opponent’s name for the first time, the camera shot expands to show Bronn Breakker walking onto the set. \
BYRON SAXTON: Easy now gentlemen, let’s save it for the ring!
Bronn doesn’t speak. Instead, he walks right up to the WWE Champion. Despite the notable height difference, Bronn does his best to get face to face with Diesel. Big Daddy Cool doesn’t back down, and there is a tension filled standoff.
BYRON SAXTON: Take it easy fellas, let’s just take it easy.
Neither man blinks as they size each other up. Neither man speaks or moves as they size up their respective competition.
BYRON SAXTON: I’m going to send it back to you Michael and Wade, let’s just hope this stare down doesn’t get out of control!
MICHAEL COLE: Let’s hope so Byron, clearly a lot of tension between the WWE Champion and his challenger Bronn Breakker.
WADE BARRETT: His challenger and the next WWE Champion if you ask me, Cole! Diesel has bit off more than he can chew!
MICHAEL COLE: Hopefully Edge hasn’t bitten off more than he can chew when it comes to Christopher Daniels!
WADE BARRETT: As a WWE mainstay, it would be quite embarrassing for him to not pick up the victory.
MICHAEL COLE: But Daniels could use this victory as well, so you have to imagine both men are going to be pulling out every trick they know!
”30/30-150” by Stone Sour plays over the sound system of the arena as Daniels makes his way to the top of the stage and holds up his hand in his signature taunt. The crowd boos him as he straightens out his ring jacket and brushes them off with a wave of his hand..
SAMANTHA IRVIN: The following triple threat match is scheduled for one fall! Making her way to the ring, The Fallen Angel Chriiistopher Daaanieeels!
MICHAEL COLE: Daniels isn’t looking as confident as last week, but you have to imagine getting the life choked out of you will do that to a man.
WADE BARRETT: Especially when you’re being whipped around like a ragdoll during the entire process!
The crowd roars as “Metalingus” by Alter Bridge begins to play, and Edge emerges from backstage looking fired up. He stomps his feet, his hands clenched into fist as he soaks in the audience’s energy.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: And his opponent, the Rated R Superstar…Edge!
MICHAEL COLE: Edge seems a little more hyped for this one than Daniels but having the audience behind you provides a bit more of a confidence build.
WADE BARRETT: Losing a major opportunity like Money in the Bank only two weeks ago shouldn’t allow him to be this confident.
His eyes focus on the ring and he takes off sliding under them into the ring before he shoots up to his feet. Edge steps into the corner and shakes the ring ropes wildly before he mounts the turnbuckle corner and throws up the rocker taunt.
SINGLES MATCH
Edge starts the match by running forward at Daniels as he goes for the spear but Daniels moves out of the way just in time! Daniels watches on as Edge barely manages to stop himself before ramming into the turnbuckle corner. Daniels uses this fear to take control as he nails a kick to the gut and sets Edge up in a double underhook before lifting him straight up from the canvas and dropping him down with his Angel’s Wings maneuver which plants him face first into the canvas. Daniels quickly grabs him by the back of the tights and rolls him up as the official slides into position but doesn’t catch the grab of the tights and instead is focused on the shoulder to the canvas; 1…2…3!
WINNER
CHRISTOPHER DANIELS
01:13 via PINFALL
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Here is your winner, The Fallen Angel CHRIIISTOPHER DAAANIEEELS!
MICHAEL COLE: Wait a second, what just happened?
WADE BARRETT: Daniels just outsmarted the Rated R Superstar!
Christopher Daniels hightails it out of the ring as he raises his own arms in the air for his victory. Edge shoots up from the canvas and begins to argue with the official as he grabs the back of his tights to tell the referee about the shady tactics that were just used. The official is obviously saying he didn’t see it as Daniels has a shit-eating grin on his face as he waves at Edge as he backs up the ramp.
"When the Lights Go Down" by Downstait hits the P/A system of the T-Mobile arena as Las Vegas, Nevada erupts with a chorus of boos for the two men making their way to the stage, Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Matt Cardona. They bump fists together before they begin to make their trek down to the ring with their arms raised in the air as if to just absorb the hatred for them into their bodies and use it for fuel.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Ladies and gentlemen please welcome, Matt Cardona and Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Strrrooong IIIslaaand!
WADE BARRETT: Here they come, Cole, our future WWE Tag Team Champions! The way these two have worked together the past couple of weeks, you would think they were a veteran tag team. They know what moves the other is going to make and they back them up no matter what!
MICHAEL COLE: I don’t know if they are the future WWE Tag Team Champions, but they certainly are impressive looking together. They have managed to get some big victories and I think it would be silly not to expect them to do great things.
WADE BARRETT: Please, if these two don’t become WWE Tag Team Champions, it’s because they were cheated out of becoming them! CM Punk and Stevie Richards are just holding the gold and keeping it warm, that’s my opinion.
As they make their way to the ring, they both spot a few fans in the front row who are heckling them holding a “The Best Tag Team In The World” sign and they steal it from them.
Friedman points to it as he shows it to Cardona, which prompts Cardona to spit on it before slapping it to the ground and both men dig their heels into it to mess it up even further. Maxwell picks it back up and crumples it before tossing it in the fans faces. Both men now laugh as they ascend the ring stairs and enter the ring with huge grins on their faces due to their actions. MJF now ushers a ringside attendant to bring them some mics before he snaps his fingers to prompt him to hurry it up. Cardona accepts one of the mics from MJF as the music begins to fade out before the two men stand in the center of the ring and Matt begins to speak despite the boos from the crowd.
MATT CARDONA: Alright you jabronis, shut up already!
This has the opposite effect of what Matt was hoping for, as the crowd is now booing even louder. Matt just shakes his head as he looks over at Friedman who decides to take a turn at trying to speak.
MAXWELL JACOB FRIEDMAN: Well, I’d say I was surprised, but Cardona, we’re in a city full of degenerates who couldn’t get lucky if their life depended on it! So you can’t blame them for being displeased with us, because we can get lucky any day of the week!
The crowd continues to boo as Cardona smirks and lifts his microphone back up.
MATT CARDONA: You know what wasn’t luck though, bro? What we did to CM Punk and Stevie Richards last week! That was pure intelligence and skill!
Maxwell can’t help but get a grin on his face as he remembers exactly what Cardona is talking about.
MAXWELL JACOB FRIEDMAN: They can only blame themselves for what we did last week, brochaho! CM Punk can’t help but get himself into trouble it seems like, first he did it with the EVPs and need I remind you all how that turned out? Now he’s messing with us, we’ll do more than take those WWE Tag Team Championships away from them…we’ll embarrass them in front of the entire WWE Universe!
Cardona laughs before continuing.
MATT CARDONA: You said it, bro! You know, I heard they’re not even here tonight, I bet they were too scared to face us after the beatdown we gave them!
MAXWELL JACOB FRIEDMAN: Well they’d better change their tights to brown, because when we get them in the ring, they’ll be shitting themselves from fear of us. I mean, let’s face it, we already made it clear that the two of us are the better tag team and we haven’t even faced them yet. Maybe we should be egotistical enough to call ourselves The Best Tag Team In The World?
Friedman motions out to the fans to see what they think and they obviously don’t agree with the pair at all. Matt, however, nods in agreement.
MATT CARDONA: Totally, bro! I think we’ve more than proven that we’re the REAL Best Tag Team in the World, and Punk and Richards know it! That’s why they’re not here tonight, because they know we could easily take those titles from them!
As MJF and Matt Cardona continue their relentless tirade against CM Punk and Stevie Richards in the ring, two cameramen who have been standing on the ring apron, inch closer to MJF and Cardona by stepping into the ring behind them.
MICHAEL COLE: Wade, are you seeing what I’m seeing?
WADE BARRETT: Oh, hell… this better not be…
Oh, but it is! Suddenly, the two cameramen drop their cameras and remove their hats and sunglasses. Their actions are seamless and synchronized.
MICHAEL COLE: It’s… IT’S…. CM PUNK AND STEVIE RICHARDS!
WADE BARRETT: Someone needs to warn MJF and Cardona!
That’s right! The two cameramen reveal themselves as none other than CM Punk and Stevie Richards, the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions!
Cardona and MJF look confused and somewhat disgusted as the arena erupts in deafening “CM-PUNK, CM-PUNK, CM-PUNK” chants.
MICHAEL COLE: Cardona and MJF have no idea what’s happening!
WADE BARRETT: Where’s security, Cole?!?
MJF and Cardona are caught off guard as Stevie Richards, wasting no time, spins MJF around. With Stevie-like speed he closes the gap between them.
MICHAEL COLE: Richards with a devastating STEVIE KICK!! Stevie connects with MJF square in the jaw!
MJF hits the mat hard. He lays sprawled out on the mat momentarily stunned before rolling out of the ring.
WADE BARRETT: Watch out Cardona!
Meanwhile, CM Punk sets his sights on Matt Cardona who turns around to face the tag team champions. The seasoned veteran, Punk, scoops Cardona up onto his shoulders.
MICHAEL COLE: Listen to that crowd! They know what’s coming!
As the crowd continues to chant, Punk with perfect execution hits his signature GTS move.
MICHAEL COLE: GO TO SLEEP!
WADE BARRETT: Where’s Triple H or Stephanie?! Someone needs to do something about this!
Punk’s knee connects with his face and Cardona crumples to the ground. But they’re not done yet! Stevie picks up a stunned Cardona up off the mat and securely locks him in a bear hug. Cardona wiggles but is unable to break free. He’s still dazed and confused from the GTS.
Standing in the middle of the ring, the technical wizard, Chicago’s own, CM Punk nods to his tag team partner. Punk takes off in a sprint towards the ropes. He hits the ropes rebounding in the opposite direction, picking up speed in the process. With perfect timing and precision, Punk extends his arm delivering a devastating running clothesline on Cardona!
MICHAEL COLE: HART-ATTACK CLOTHESLINE!!!
The crowd erupts with excitement. Stevie kicks Cardona out of the ring as Punk reaches down and grabs a microphone.
CM PUNK: Surprise, surprise! Too busy running your mouths to see us coming. Look at you now! Not so tough when you’re lying on your backs are you? I’ll tell you what… if you two think you’ve got what it takes… if you think you’re ready to square off against THE BEST TAG TEAM IN THE WORLD in a fair fight…If you think you can step up to us, bring it on. We're right here, ready to defend our titles anytime, anywhere! In fact, how about this...how about this Sunday night at Money in the Bank, Stevie and I shut you arrogant little pricks up for good?
The arena is filled with cheers and chants in favor of the Tag Team Champions. MJF and Cardona, still reeling from the ambush, exchange dazed glances, their bravado from moments ago now shattered. The challenge has been laid down, and the message is clear: Punk and Richards are not to be underestimated.
MICHAEL COLE: Did you hear that, Wade? The Best Tag Team in the World has laid out the challenge to Strong Island for this Sunday - - and the tag titles are on the line!
WADE BARRETT: I can't wait, Cole, that's going to be one hell of a match! Money in the Bank is shaping up to be a stacked show and if you ask me, I think we're going to see new Tag Team Champions!
MICHAEL COLE: Well I might not agree with you there, but I do think we’re going to see one hell of a match! The six person tag between Bullet Club Red and Strong Island was one of the greatest tag team matches I’ve seen since the new regime took over. And of course, The Young Bucks are still waiting in the wings somewhere, it’s only a matter of time before we get even more great tag teams in the mix!
The roar of the crowd fills the T-Mobile Arena, that is until one by one, the lights begin to dim, casting long shadows over the crowd. A hush starts to fall over the arena as the darkness deepens, enveloping everything in an almost tangible gloom. All eyes turned to the TitanTron, which flickers to life. The scene slowly materializes: the moon hangs high, casting its ethereal light over a calm, undulating ocean. The woman walks from behind the scene. She steps gracefully onto the shimmering waves, her presence commanding attention even through the screen. Each step she takes sends ripples spreading outwards, disturbed only by the rhythmic sloshing of the water. In her hand, she carries her signature baseball bat engulfed in flames, the fire casting an ominous glow around her and as she walks, she runs her fingers through the flames of the bat, the fire flickering around her hand like a controlled inferno. Her thick Scottish accent, resonant and commanding, fills the arena. The camera follows her movements, capturing the intensity in her movements.
ALBA FYRE: In this world, we are told that to win is to conquer all. But what of those who taste defeat? Are they lesser? Are they broken?
The beach comes into view of the camera, a stark contrast with its dark, fine sand stretching endlessly, lit by fierce, crackling flames of torches planted firmly in the ground. The torches stand like sentinels, guarding a path that leads to an old, creaky cabin. Alba Fyre is finally revealed. Her eyes glint with determination, her red hair flows behind her as she reaches the shore, her bare feet sinking slightly into the cool sand. She is a sight to behold, a powerful figure draped in dark robes that billow around her.
ALBA FYRE: We have all faced defeat before. We have known the sting of loss. Yet here we stand, unbroken, unbowed. For every fall, we will rise again, stronger, more determined. We remain dominant, not because we never lose, but because we will never ever give up.
With a final, powerful swing, Alba hurls the flaming bat into the water. It soars through the air, a blazing arc of light, before plunging into the waves with a hiss and a cloud of steam. The flames are extinguished, but the fire within Alba burns brighter than ever. The cameras now take us to clips of Alba and Isla’s fights for dominance since their return in April. Their immense battles from their beginnings this turn around on Heat, to them winning in the first women's tag team match since the reshuffle against Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan. As it flickers between scenes of Alba’s stroll, the replays close in more to a point of Alba’s singles run as a competitor and her recent elimination from the Battle Royal which crowned a new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion in Kairi Sane.
ALBA FYRE: You may think the flame is put out, but from its ashes, a new fire is born. Fire is the most powerful element and at any given time; it consumes, it transforms, it gives life through destruction. And like fire, I will rise again.
Her words resonate with a wisdom beyond her years, a profound understanding of the cycle of triumph and despair. She reaches the door of the cabin, its hinges groaning in protest as she pushes it open. The interior is dimly lit, shadows dancing on the walls as the flames outside flicker through the windows. Inside, Isla Dawn waits, her back turned to the door. Alba joins her, both facing a figure that stands imposing before them. The figure clearly aims to look feminine yet is fooling no one with their huge frame and muscles rippling beneath their attire. They wear a Harlequin mask, the eerie contrast of colors adding to the air of mystery. Perhaps a nod to Isla’s search for a partner and a friend to join the girls. She is often left confused and lost when they leave her. Alba continues her monologue, her voice steady and sure.
ALBA FYRE: We are not bound by the labels others place upon us because we are everything. We are everybody. We are the chaos and the calm, the light and the dark. The others were never meant to join us. This path is ours to walk.
ISLA DAWN: Alone.
There is an undeniable shift in the atmosphere as Isla’s voice, low and besotted with the figure chimed in. Alba continues.
ALBA FYRE: We have brought darkness, excitement and brutality to Monday Night Raw. The shadows that once hid in the corners of the ring now dominate the spotlight. Together we resurrected the chaos, the madness, the unbridled fury that once ruled the world of wrestling. They fear us because they cannot control us. They tremble at our power, at the thought of what we might do next. They think they can withstand us, but they haven't seen anything yet. The future holds many surprises.
The masked figure remains silent, a looming presence in the room. With a swift motion, Alba reaches out, pulling the mask away to reveal the face of The Jester, a man with one eye white and the other black, his gaze intense and piercing through the camera as a manic grin comes spread across his face. The three begin to laugh together, the camera zooming out to reveal the backs of the girls again until it scrambles and the screen cut to black.
MICHAEL COLE: So, this is the guy that mysteriously appeared in the Battle Royal last week!
WADE BARRETT: You say mysteriously, Cole, but I don’t think it’s too mysterious after all of the spooky Ouija board ritual scenes we’ve been seeing since the beginning of time from the Unholy Union. They did conjure Lilly back to the WWE, after all! Isla, especially, has always been partial to a friend.
MICHAEL COLE: Well, we’ll see if she can make a friend out of her partner Dakota Kai in their tag match later on tonight! But up next we have a different women’s match, as Fallon Henley looks to continue her momentum before Money in the Bank this Sunday when she goes one-on-one with Jakara Jackson who is competing in her first match on Monday Night RAW!
WADE BARRETT: The women’s division continues to grow and frankly Cole, these ladies have been killing it on a consistent basis! I have no doubts that this match will be more of the same!
”Saddle Up” by def rebel begins to play on the speakers and the crowd begins to cheer as Fallon Henley steps out to the top of the ramp. Looking out at the crowd with a big, confident smile, Fallon nods at the crowd’s support before making her way down the ramp.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, Fallooon Heeenleeeyyy!
MICHAEL COLE: Fallon Henley got a big win over Tiffany Stratton last week to qualify for the women’s Money in the Bank match, and a win here tonight would go a long way to building up her momentum for what is undoubtedly the biggest moment of her career!
WADE BARRETT: It certainly would, Cole, and Fallon Henley has a lot of fight in her, she might just make it happen!
Fallon gets to the bottom of the ramp and makes her way up the steel steps to the ring apron, entering the ring and walking over to the corner. Climbing up onto the second turnbuckle, she raises her arms in the air and gives the crowd a big smile as they continue to cheer her on. Hopping down to the mat, Fallon takes her denim vest off and hands it to the ringside attendant with a smile. Swinging her arms back and forth to warm up, Fallon turns her attention to the entrance area as her music fades out and “Time Out” by def rebel begins to play on the speakers and the crowd gives a more mixed reaction as the lights go out and a yellow stripe forms on the screen of the TitanTron, showing Jakara Jackson standing in front of it at the top of the ramp. Briefly looking out at the crowd once the lights come up, Jakara quickly focuses her attention on Fallon waiting for her in the ring and points down to her as a look of determination washes over her face and she begins making her way down to the ring
SAMANTHA IRVIN: And her opponent, making her way to the ring, Jakarrraaa Jaaacksooon!
MICHAEL COLE: Jakara Jackson is looking ready to go as she comes down the ramp to participate in her first ever match on Monday Night RAW!
WADE BARRETT: That she is, Cole, and as much as Fallon Henley wants to keep up her momentum as she prepares to head into Money in the Bank, you have to think that Jakara Jackson is just as eager to make a name for herself as well. This one is going to be very interesting, to say the least!
Getting to the bottom of the ramp, Jakara goes up the steel steps to the apron, entering the ring and going to the center, as she strikes a pose to a continued mixed reaction from the audience. As her music begins to fade, she rolls her shoulders as she turns her attention to Fallon, a whisper of a smirk forming on her face.
SINGLES MATCH
The bell rings and Fallon extends her hand for a handshake, offering Jakara a genuine smile. Looking at Fallon with narrowed eyes, Jakara hesitates for a second, but decides to extend her own hand and accept the handshake. The crowd cheers the sportsmanship between the two ladies, but out of nowhere, Jakara kicks Fallon in the midsection, causing her to double over! The crowd lets out a collective gasp at the betrayal, and they let out a boo as Jakara nails Fallon in the back with a double axe handle to knock her down face first to the mat. Jakara then crouches down and grabs Fallon by the back of the head and begins wiping her face into the mat!
MICHAEL COLE: What a disrespectful move by Jakara Jackson!
WADE BARRETT: You call it disrespectful, I call it ruthless! She’s clearly figured out what it takes to be successful here on Monday Night RAW, Noam Dar should be proud!
The crowd continues booing as Jakara stops rubbing Fallon’s face into the mat and gets to her feet. Choosing to not emulate her fellow Meta-Four member Oro Mensah by striking a pose, Jakara stays on the attack, flipping Fallon over onto her back and then walking around to her head and stepping on her hair. As Fallon cries out in pain, Jakara reaches down and grabs Fallon’s arms, lifting her up and pulling her hair in the process, causing Fallon to scream out in pain! Jakara drops Fallon back down to the mat before grabbing her arms and lifting her up for a second time, this time holding her in place! As Fallon screams, the referee tells Jakara she needs to let go but she refuses, so he begins the count, 1…2…3…4…Jakara lets go of Fallon’s arms, dropping her back down to the mat and stepping off of her hair and she takes a step back and holds her hands up in surrender as the referee admonishes her. After the lecture from the official, Jakara walks back over to Fallon and jumps up in the air, looking to come down on her with a jumping elbow drop but Fallon rolls out of the way and Jakara crashes into the mat!
MICHAEL COLE: A bit of a rough landing for Jackson there!
WADE BARRETT: Now she’s being introduced to one of the more painful parts of being part of the WWE roster!
As Jakara rolls around on the mat holding her elbow, Fallon scrambles to her feet and runs over to Jakara, grabbing her by the hair and pulling her up to her feet. Throwing Jakara’s head under her arm, Fallon drives Jakara’s head into the mat with a DDT! Fallon gets to her feet and looks down at Jakara who slowly rolls onto her back, and Fallon yells “WELCOME TO RAW!” before hitting the ropes and when she comes back, she jumps in the air and comes down on Jakara with a jumping leg drop! Fallon immediately goes for the pin and hooks the leg, 1…2…kick out by Jakara Jackson!
MICHAEL COLE: Jakara Jackson isn’t going to stay down that easily!
WADE BARRETT: I told you she’s eager to prove herself, Cole!
Fallon gets to her feet and bends down to pick Jakara up, but the Meta-Four member moves fast, grabbing Fallon by the head and rolling her up into a small package pin! 1…2…THRNOOO! Fallon Henley gets out of it just in time! Both women are to their feet, and Jakara Jackson goes for a clothesline but Fallon ducks underneath the attempt and when both women turn around, Fallon nails Jakara with a roundhouse kick! Jakara falls to the mat and Fallon goes for the cover again, 1…2…THRENOOO! Jakara is barely able to kick out! Fallon lets out a frustrated wail and pulls Jakara to her feet. Fallon grabs Jakara by the wrist and goes to whip her into the ropes, but Jakara hangs onto Fallon’s arm and lifts it up and goes under, twisting herself around to face Fallon and deliver a kick to the midsection! Fallon lets go of Jakara’s wrist and turns around, clutching at her abdomen and Jakara wastes no time, grabbin Fallon’s hair and driving her down to the mat with a Sit-Out Hair-Pull Slam! Jakara now goes for the cover and hooks the leg, 1…2…3! Jakara Jackson has won!
WINNER
JAKARA JACKSON
03:58 via PINFALL
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Here is your winner, JAKARRRAAA JAAACKSOOON!
MICHAEL COLE: Jakara Jackson has won her first match on Monday Night RAW! What a performance!
WADE BARRETT: It was very impressive, that’s for sure. I said earlier that the women’s division continues to heat up and I have a feeling that we could be looking at the future of the division here in Jakara Jackson.
”Time Out” begins to play again and the crowd gives another mixed reaction as Jakara Jackson gets to her feet. While they tend to like her spunky personality, her actions against Fallon Henley leave a lot to be desired and it’s clear the Las Vegas crowd is conflicted on how to feel right now. As the referee raises her hand in the air, Jakara has a big smile on her face, clearly excited to have gotten the win in her first Monday Night RAW match. As the referee lets go of her arm to go check on Fallon Henley, Jakara strikes a pose, which brings a few more cheers from the crowd, and she walks over to the ropes with a big smile on her face. Exiting the ring and hopping down to the floor, Jakara slaps a couple of outstretched hands of fans in the front row before raising her arms triumphantly as she walks up the ramp to the back, elated at her victory. Meanwhile, in the ring, Fallon Henley sits up, her face filled with disappointment as she realizes she’s lost just six days before Money in the Bank. Shaking her head, Fallon blinks to fight back tears as she scoots over to the ropes and rolls under the bottom rope out of the ring, hurrying up the ramp to the back.
We cut to the backstage area and Cathy Kelley is waiting for her cue. She gets it and speaks towards the camera.
CATHY KELLEY: Money in the Bank is just six days away with two huge ladder matches taking place that night. My guest at this time is one of the participants in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Ladies and gentlemen, Austin Theory.
The crowd is mostly booing as Theory comes into frame, but there’s a few small cheers for him.
CATHY KELLEY: Austin, Money in the Bank is going to be your biggest challenge and test to date. What are your thoughts heading into that match?
Theory gives her a confident smirk.
AUSTIN THEORY: My thoughts? Great question. First and foremost, my thought goes to the fact that the guy I beat to get into this match is getting a WWE World Championship shot at the same show. A little befuddling if you ask me. If I would have known then what I know now about that, maybe I would have tried to just lose the match and back my way into a title shot.
Kelley tries her best to steer the conversation back to Theory’s match.
CATHY KELLEY: That being said, you’ve got a tall task ahead of you.
AUSTIN THEORY: Listen, I’m not lacking when it comes to confidence, Cathy. We both know that. It’s tough to go into this match with any kind of confidence though. This match is absolutely stacked.
CATHY KELLEY: Is there someone you’ve got your eye on as a serious threat in the men’s match?
Theory shakes his head.
AUSTIN THEORY: Not really, no. This match is a wildcard match. You could be dominating this thing and destroying everyone. You turn your back for one second and some schmuck like…like…Danhausen could easily set up a ladder, climb it and win the match without doing a damn thing before that. He could be hiding under the ring the whole time, crawl out, climb the ladder and win. You just can’t plan for that kind of crap, Cathy. Fact of the matter is this. I’ve gotta be ready for each and every person in that match. From the Alex Shelley’s to the Goldust’s to even the Danhausen’s. Everyone has to be accounted for at all times.
Almost on cue, the camera pulls back a bit to reveal Danhausen sneaking into frame, crouched very low. Cathy Kelley seems to notice him, but Austin Theory does not. He continues speaking, as Danhausen signals to Cathy to remain quiet.
AUSTIN THEORY: But when you're Austin Theory, you don't - - Hey!
Austin notices that Cathy Kelley is not looking at him and follows her eyes, turning around to reveal Danhausen crouched behind him!
AUSTIN THEORY: Danhausen?! What the - -?!
DANHAUSEN: Groin punch!
Danhausen goes to punch Austin Theory in the groin, but Theory is easily able to step to the side, and thwart his plans. Danhausen stumbles a bit before standing up and brushing himself off.
DANHAUSEN: Well, that's embarrassing...
AUSTIN THEORY: Just what the hell are you doing, you idiot?
DANHAUSEN: No swearing! Danhausen heard that you were talking ... Danhausen goes into his pocket and pulls out an index card and reads from it. … smack. Yes, that's right. Danhausen heard you use Danhausen's name, so Danhausen sought to teach you a lesson that you would never forget! A swift punch to the groin, and you'll be incapacitated for weeks - - maybe, even months - - and thus, Danhausen's chances of winning the Human Monies in the Vault would be even greater than they already are!
AUSTIN THEORY: You were going to punch me in the dick, and you thought that would keep me from winning Money in the Bank?
DANHAUSEN: NO SWEARING! But, yes - - that was more or less Danhausen's plan.
AUSTIN THEORY: That's a terrible plan.
Danhausen bares his teeth and hisses at Austin Theory.
DANHAUSEN: Says who? What would you know about winning, huh, Austin Hypothesis? Since Danhausen has landed on this planet - - er, Danhausen means since Danhausen has entered the WWE - - Danhausen has been undefeated! Are you aware of what that means, hmm? Well, let Danhausen tell you. It means that no man, woman, nor child have been able to pin the almighty Danhausen's shoulders to the mat for longer than 2 consecutive seconds. Danhausen is riding a wave of momentum right now, and Danhausen does not intend for that wave to be ridden by the likes of YOU! Now, I'll give you a very simple choice. Either you withdraw from the Human Monies in the Vault bout, and you pledge your undying allegiance to Danhausen this instant - - OR BE CURSED!
Danhausen slowly begins to lift his hands up, readying the curse…but just then, someone else walks into frame.
COREY GRAVES: What the hell is wrong with you two?
Theory and Danhausen look over to see Graves with a look of disgust on his face as he steps up to the microphone.
AUSTIN THEORY: What is wrong with me? This is supposed to be my interview segment.
COREY GRAVES: Well, it’s clear that you’re not fit to be interviewed. I can’t believe it’s even a question who is going to walk out of Money in the Bank with the men’s briefcase when the two of you make up twenty five percent of the participants.
Danhausen crooks his head.
DANHAUSEN: Er, Danhausen does not believe that math is mathing. There are nine competitors in the match so two of us would be - -
COREY GRAVES: Shut up. You know what the best part of coming back to in ring competition was? Not having to watch losers like you, Danhausen, doing what I have always dreamed of. But I’m not on the sidelines, and I’m not going to let the two of you make a joke out of my moment.
Graves pushes to be standing right next to Cathy.
AUSTIN THEORY: Your moment?
COREY GRAVES: Cathy, I’m the one you want to be talking to, because I’m the one who will be holding the briefcase when the smoke clears. These two idiots know it, the fans know it, and the rest of the cretins in this locker room know it. I have been the most dominating and fastest rising star in this company since I stepped back in that ring. It won’t be any different when we are in Las Vegas. So, if you want to play pretend with this little clown show you can, but the facts are the facts. And hell, given what a pathetic excuse for a main event we’ve got going on…who's to say I don’t just cash in that night. The Money in the Bank match ends with that case high above my head…but the question is, does the Money in the Bank show end with the WWE title around my waist? Wouldn’t that be a sight?
With a sneer Graves pushes out of frame leaving Danhausen and Theory staring at each other frozen in their positions from before Graves was there.
DANHAUSEN: Corey Burial Plots does not understand that Danhausen is undefeated either.
AUSTIN THEORY: This is my interview time! Get the hell out of here!
Danhausen just shrugs at Theory who in turn, turns around and storms off in anger. We cut back to the ringside area.
MICHAEL COLE: Three of the participants in the Money in the Bank ladder match crossing paths backstage there.
WADE BARRETT: This Danhausen fellow is quite peculiar, isn’t he?
MICHAEL COLE: That may be a bit of an understatement.
WADE BARRETT: Any one of those fools could grab that briefcase next week, Cole. That’s even crazier to think about!
MICHAEL COLE: Danhausen as the Money in the Bank winner, what a timeline!
WADE BARRETT: One I don’t want to live in.
MICHAEL COLE: Well folks now it’s time for our next match! Last week, the Monday Night Messiah, Seth “Freakin’” Rollins made his return to the WWE and he’s immediately jumping back into action as he takes on the imposing Brody King!
WADE BARRETT: Seth’s comeback might be over before it even begins!
BURN IT DOOOOOWN!
The crowd roars as “The Second Coming” by def rebel plays through the speakers. Spotlights sway and dance over the audience as the camera pans across them, before focusing on the man himself. Seth Rollins emerges, looking a little awed at the crowd’s response. He pauses at the top of the ramp, adjusts the white-and-black fur collar around his neck, listening to the crowd as they ‘wooooooah-oooooh-OOOOOH-oooh’ along with his music.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome…Seth Freakin’ Rolllllliiins!
Seth saunters his way down the ramp, slapping hands with the fans on the sidelines before finally climbing the ring stairs. He steps through the ropes and mounts one of the turnbuckles, his arms open wide towards the crowd, who only cheers and sings louder for him.
MICHAEL COLE: Seth Rollins is home!
WADE BARRETT: He sure is, Cole, and this Las Vegas crowd is loving it. I just wish they could hold a tune!
Seth accepts a microphone from a production staffer before jumping down from the turnbuckle. He checks the volume, and the crowd goes quiet as he raises the mic to his lips.
SETH 'FREAKIN' ROLLINS: Las Vegas! Welcome back, finally, to Monday Night RAW-liiiiiiiins!
The crowd pops for this, and a smile breaks out on Seth’s face as he gives them a moment to settle.
SETH 'FREAKIN' ROLLINS: God, I can’t tell you how good it feels to walk through those curtains again. Hearing you guys singing my song? I’m going to be high on that feeling all night long, baby. But I didn’t come out just to get my ego inflated; I’m not Christian Cage, after all. No, I’m out here to talk to you about exactly why it took so long for me to get here; so long to finally join this new era of WWE.
Seth walks over to the ring ropes and leans forward against them, his arm folded under him with the mic in his free hand.
SETH 'FREAKIN' ROLLINS: In January of this year, I was at a live event in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and I did what I do every night; the same thing man has wanted to do since he took his first step: I flew. I jumped off the turnbuckle, and I landed wrong on my leg, and I knew it was bad. I’ll be honest folks…it scared the hell outta me.
Seth pauses for a breath, and to let the crowd absorb what he said.
SETH 'FREAKIN' ROLLINS: Let’s be honest, folks. I’m not as young as I used to be. Every time I get knocked down, it’s just a little bit harder to get back up. And laying in that hospital room waiting to hear the verdict, I realized that I’ve been a WWE superstar for twelve years. I’ve been a wrestler - - don’t fine me, Hunter! - - for twenty years of my life. I’ve been everywhere there is to go, done everything there is to do. So, laying there, I got to thinking. Maybe it’s time to go? Go out on a high point, instead of being one of those former legends you see working in front of fifteen people in a school gymnasium in Little Rock.
Seth’s expression darkens as he looks down, away from the camera.
SETH 'FREAKIN' ROLLINS: In a way, I did go. I couldn’t be on the shows, of course, but Hunter and ol’ Steph weren’t exactly burning my phone up while I was gone. I walked out on…well. Someone who is very important to me, and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to rebuild that bond as strong as it was, and that’s on me. Crises of faith can help you find a different path, a better path than the one you’re walking, but that’s not the only way they can end.
He looks back up, his smile returned, wider than ever.
SETH 'FREAKIN' ROLLINS: Or they can teach you to keep on rolling. When I was gone, staying in hotels, living on diner food wondering exactly what the hell I was going to do with my life, I realized that this business is my life. I need the adrenaline rush from hearing that bell ring. That emotional high of hearing the crowd cheering my name. The GLORY of holding a big gold belt up high is a feeling that you can’t find anywhere else on this earth. So, you know what? I’m thinking I’m back, and I’m not going any –
Seth throws his hands up in the air in frustration as the heavy-metal thrum of “Divine Injustice” by God’s hate begins to fill the arena, and the crowd’s happiness turns to boos. ‘Big Bad’ Brody King lumbers out from backstage, looking completely oblivious to the crowd around him, his intense gaze focused directly on Seth, who watches back. After a moment, Seth gives the universal ‘bring it’ finger wave, and Brody King continues down the ramp.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: And his opponent, making his way to the ring, ”Big Bad” Brooodyyy Kiiing!
MICHAEL COLE: It doesn't look like Brody King’s willing to wait his turn!
WADE BARRETT: And why should he? Brody had a phenomenal debut last week, and now Seth gets to run his mouth for 20 minutes before their match? I think he’s going to hand-deliver his reply!
King climbs the stairs slowly and pushes down the top rope, stepping over it. He trades a stare with Seth Rollins, who shrugs out of his coat and passes it off to a ring attendant. As his music fades out, he turns to look at Seth Rollins with a sinister smile, while Rollins is seen exhaling deeply.
SINGLES MATCH
The bell rings and Brody King charges in and knocks Seth Rollins down with a shoulder block! Hitting the ropes, Brody King comes back and jumps up, coming down on Rollins with a splash! King stays on Rollins, looking for a quick pin, 1…2...kick out by Seth Rollins!
MICHAEL COLE: Brody King looking to make quick work out of Seth Rollins like he did to Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal last week!
WADE BARRETT: I have a feeling Rollins is going to wish he’d have just stayed down!
Brody gets to his feet and bends down, grabbing Rollins by the hair and forcefully bringing him to his feet as well. He whips The Architect into the corner and comes charging in, looking to hit another big splash, but Rollins moves out of the way and King crashes hard chest first into the corner! The crowd cheers as King stumbles out of the corner and turns around to get knocked in the face with a superkick from Rollins, but King doesn’t go down, instead he just wobbles around on his feet!
MICHAEL COLE: I can’t believe that superkick didn’t take him down!
WADE BARRETT: Are we looking at the same man, Cole? Brody King is built like a brick house!
Seth Rollins seems to be in the same mindset as Michael Cole, as he looks at Brody King wobbling on his feet. Running his hands through his hair, Rollins comes in again, nailing another superkick but King still doesn’t go down, just becomes more unsteady on his feet. The desperation starting to rise a bit, Seth delivers a kick to King’s midsection, which surprisingly does cause the bigger man to double over. Rollins grabs King by the head, shoves his head between his legs and hooks his arms before driving him face first into the mat with The Pedigree! Rollins quickly goes for the cover and hooks the leg, 1…2…3! Seth Rollins is victorious!
WINNER
SETH “FREAKIN’” ROLLINS
02:41 via PINFALL
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Here is your winner, “The Architect” SETH “FREAKIN’” ROLLLLLLIIINS!
MICHAEL COLE: Seth Rollins did it! In what should be no surprise to anyone, he overcame this giant hurdle in Brody King and is walking out victorious!
WADE BARRETT: And he beat King in the same amount of time as King won his debut match last week, I have a feeling that’s not going to sit very well with the big man!
”The Second Coming” begins playing on the speakers again and the crowd is going wild with cheers as Seth Rollins gets to his feet, clearly relieved to have the match over with. As the referee raises his hand in victory, Seth quickly pulls his hand away and goes to the ropes, exiting the ring and hopping down to the floor, slapping a few outstretched hands of fans as he quickly makes his way up the ramp, not wanting to be anywhere near Brody King anymore. As he gets to the top of the ramp he stops and looks back in the ring, to see Brody King now to his feet yelling angrily about his loss. Seth just rubs his face with his hands and looks at King with wide eyes, before shaking his head and turning to head to the back as the cameras fade out to commercial.
Tune in this Sunday to find out who will become Mr. and Ms. Money in the Bank 2024!
