Money in the Bank
July 14, 2024
Allegiant Stadium
Las Vegas, Nevada
As the opening video package ends, pyro explodes on the stage as the crowd in Las Vegas, Nevada is erupting in cheers. The cameras pan through the crowd, showing off various signs reading things like “CASH IT IN!”, “NEXT WWE CHAMP”, “LITA” “DAKOTA’S #1 FAN” and more. After doing a pan of the Allegiant Stadium, the cameras settle in on the commentary table where we see the team of Michael Cole and Wade Barrett.
MICHAEL COLE: Welcome to Allegiant Stadium here in beautiful Sin City, Las Vegas! I’m Michael Cole and alongside me as always is my broadcast partner, Wade Barrett. Tonight we get to find out just who has what it takes to begin the next step to WWE superstardom.
WADE BARRETT: You couldn’t be any more right, Cole! With the amount of talent packed into tonight's show and only so many opportunities available for the taking! I personally can’t wait to see who can climb the ladders to success and grab those briefcases suspended above the ring for an opportunity of a lifetime!
MICHAEL COLE: Well we won’t have to wait long for that, because one of those briefcases will be on the line very soon. But we can’t talk about one briefcase without talking about the other, and the women’s match is going to be just as hotly contested if not a tighter competition for those ladies as the six of them compete later on to see who will have that briefcase by the end of the night!
WADE BARRETT: Speaking of tight competition, Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Matt Cardona are giving CM Punk and Stevie Richards some tight competition for those WWE Tag Team Championships. It’s been back and forth attacks, and some rather strong words between both groups that have ignited this feud into a blaze that I’m not sure this one match can extinguish!
MICHAEL COLE: The Best Tag Team In The World have certainly been given a run for the money in the weeks leading up to Money in the Bank. MJF and Cardona showed the pair that they had what it takes when they not only beat Bullet Club Red but managed to sneak attack Punk and Richards backstage on Monday Night RAW!
WADE BARRETT: And you have to imagine that Punk and Richards are going to be very leery of those two. Especially after the trouble they had with the EVPs not very long ago. They could run into a similar situation here tonight and they don’t want that at all. I for one would be very happy to see those titles change hands though! Those boys have been a little too big for their britches if you ask me!
MICHAEL COLE: Well I can’t say I agree with you on that one, Wade. But I do think we have to respect the other end of the spectrum in both our WWE Championship and WWE Women’s Championship matches. Bron Breakker, Diesel, Serena Deeb and Lita all have shown a tremendous amount of respect for one another. A far cry from the usual situations we’ve had in the main event scene for the past few premium live events we’ve had.
WADE BARRETT: Nobody in any of those matches is any less motivated to put down their opponent though. The biggest prizes in the WWE are on the line and you have to imagine that all parties involved are going to do what it takes to come out on top.
Suddenly, “King of Kings” by Motörhead begins to play over the speakers and surprisingly, the crowd goes wild with cheers as the owners of the WWE, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, come out from the back. With their arms outstretched, the power couple look absolutely ecstatic to be in Allegiant Stadium as they begin to make their way down the ramp.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Ladies and gentlemen please welcome, the owners of WWE, Stephanie McMahon and Triiipllle H!
MICHAEL COLE: We’re kicking off the show with our owners, they have to be feeling very excited that we’re entering our fourth premium live event, Money in the Bank, Wade!
WADE BARRETT: They should be excited but more importantly, they should be focused because tonight is where future stars are born!
Stephanie and Triple H reach the bottom of the ramp and Triple H goes up the steel steps first, pausing on the apron and holding the ropes open for Stephanie and she makes her way up the steps behind him. Pausing to give him a kiss, Stephanie enters the ring and Triple H follows close behind her. Approaching Samantha Irvin, Stephanie asks for the microphone and Samantha hands it to her with a smile before exiting the ring, as Triple H asks for a second microphone from a ringside attendant. Going to the center of the ring, the two of them look out at the crowd with big, beaming smiles and as the music fades out and the cheers start to subside, Triple H raises his microphone up to his mouth and begins to speak.
TRIPLE H: Tonight is a monumental night for the history of World Wrestling Entertainment, it’s a night where superstars are truly made for the first time in their careers! With opportunities like the WWE Championship and WWE Women’s Championship match contracts hanging above their heads ripe for the picking. Only one man and one woman will be able to claim their chance at the opportunity of a lifetime!
Triple H rubs a hand over his beard as he grins.
TRIPLE H: Nights like tonight are the ones that Stephanie and I hold very dear because they can shape the very future of our company. World Wrestling Entertainment may never be the same again after this night is through. Because if somebody wishes, they can cash in that opportunity at any given point in time to try and become champion and take the WWE by storm.
As Triple H lowers his microphone, Stephanie raises hers up to her mouth to speak.
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: Now before I say anything further, I’d just like to start out by saying…what’s up Las Vegas?!
The crowd goes wild with the cheap pop and Stephanie has a big smile on her face as she continues.
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: I’ve gotta be honest, I’m surprised by the warm reception given how people have felt about us the last few weeks. I know we don’t always make the most popular decisions, but rest assured we’re always striving to do what is best for business and for the WWE Universe! Now, on to the subject at hand. These ladder matches are absolutely career changing, some of the greatest superstars in WWE history have had their careers launched into the stratosphere by winning this match, and I expect tonight to be no different.
As Triple H steps back up raising his microphone, he wraps his other arm around Stephanie’s waist.
TRIPLE H: Those contracts aren’t the only thing on the line tonight. We’ve got the WWE Championship, WWE Women’s Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championships all on the line tonight as well. I’d like to wish all the competitors in those matches luck in their pursuit of either capturing or retaining that greatness. Now, I only have one question for you: Las Vegas…are you ready?
The crowd gives an even louder cheap pop than the last time, as he points out towards the fans.
TRIPLE H: NOOO! I SAID…ARE…YOU…READY?!
The crowd cheers absolutely wild for this as the Co-Owners take their leave from the ring with Triple H holding open the ropes for Stephanie. Both of them take their time down the stairs and play to the crowd a bit with some hand slaps as they make their way to the back.
MICHAEL COLE: It seems like both Stephanie and Triple H are prepared for what the future holds, but are these superstars ready to cement their future?
WADE BARRETT: That’s a great question, Cole, and one we should have an answer to very soon when we see the male superstars compete for their opportunity at that Money in the Bank briefcase coming up right now!
MICHAEL COLE: So many bets have probably been made on these Money in the Bank matches tonight, but I’m not sure who the odds-on favorite is for either of these matches!
The crowd is on their feet as “Christcontrol” begins to play through the sound system, and their boos very nearly drown out the music as Corey Graves emerges from backstage with Carmella at his side. Graves has one arm around Carmella’s waist, and the other he raises in a defiant fist to the crowd. After a moment, the pair share a brief kiss before she heads to the back and he makes his way down the ramp towards the ring.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: The following contest is the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match! The only way to win is to climb the ladder and unhook the briefcase, earning themselves an any time, any place shot at the WWE Championship! Introducing first, making his way to the ring, Corey Graaaves!
MICHAEL COLE: Graves has taken the WWE by storm since leaving the commentary desk! He’s beaten every opponent they’ve placed in his path, but tonight he’s not going one-on-one with anybody. He’s going to be attacked from every side by the other men seeking that same opportunity he wants hanging above the ring!
WADE BARRETT: You asked who the favorite was for this match, and I have to imagine that if you’re smart, your money would be on Corey Graves. It was an absolutely stellar return, and his focus has not wavered from his goal of becoming a future WWE Champion!
Graves lets his denim jacket slide off his shoulders as he gets into the ring, and stares up at the briefcase hanging above the ring. When suddenly "Six Barrel Shotgun" by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club hits as Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin of the Motor City Machine Guns make their way out to the top of the stage, Sabin gives a finger gun to the camera as he winks at the same time, and Shelley smirks as he opens the vest he's wearing to reveal his physique before spreading his arms out to the side and shooting a finger gun from each hand into the air. Sabin and Shelley dap each other up before Sabin pats him on the back and sends him off to the ring as he exits to the backstage area.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Making his way to the ring, he is one-half of the Motor City Machine Guns; Allleeex Shelleeey!
MICHAEL COLE: Shelley is a tag team specialist, Wade, but he’s worked his way into this match by going to the limit with Sikoa in their qualifying match. Both of those men earned a second chance, and tonight they’ve got to be hoping they can get the job done.
WADE BARRETT: I’m sure that Shelley would love to win this one for his partner Sabin and the Motor City Machine Guns. I’m just not sure if he couldn’t beat Sikoa, if he's got the chance tonight to take home that briefcase. Stranger things have happened, though, Cole!
As Shelley slaps a few hands along the rampway, he focuses his eyes on the briefcase above the ring. His gaze only leaves it when Corey Graves shouts something at him, and the two now lock eyes with each other. Shelley shouts something back, and Graves leans over the ropes to tell him that he doesn’t stand a chance. ”The Danhausen Show” by Gwarsenio Hall plays as an upset-looking Danhausen stomps his way out to the stage and begins to wring his hands together, showing the nerves this match can bring to a competitor. Reaching into his pants, he pulls out his jar of teeth as he gently strokes the glass they are held in, and he mumbles to himself as he makes his way to the ring.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Making his way to the ring, he’s very nice, he’s very evil, Daaanhaaauuusen!
MICHAEL COLE: Speaking of stranger things, here comes one of them! Though he claims to be very evil, I’m thinking the very nice part has turned the WWE Universe into Danhausen’s fans! And even if you won’t admit it, Wade, I’m thinking that he might be sneaky enough to get himself that briefcase!
WADE BARRETT: I will pay any man in this match one thousand dollars to take him out and make sure that doesn’t happen! Heck! I’d pay any fan to jump the barricade and make sure that doesn’t happen!
”Nick Wayne” by Photographic Memory begins to play over the speakers of the sound system as he practically skips his way out on stage with confidence. The crowd throws trash at him as The Patriarchy member dodges a few cups and plastic bottles thrown his way. Wayne throws a few rude gestures their way as he struts his way to one side of the stage and then the other, egging them on. He shoves his way past Danhausen and turns to look at him, but Danhausen raises his arms and begins to curse Wayne.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Making his way to the ring, he is a member of The Patriarchy, Niiick Waaayne!
MICHAEL COLE: One of Christian’s "sons," and with the tutelage of a master of ladder matches, you have to imagine he’s got some inside knowledge that’s going to help him out tonight.
WADE BARRETT: Christian does have a solid record of being the winner in these types of matches. One has to wonder if Nick Wayne would actually be the holder of the briefcase or if he would hand it off to Christian should he walk out of here tonight with it?
Wayne tries to avoid being cursed, but "Goldust" by Jim Johnston hits the P/A system of the arena, and gold sparks begin to fall down on the stage. The flash of cameras can be seen as Goldust stands at the top of the stage with his own flamboyantly gold attire and robe to match. His arms extend before he brings them to his chest, and he rubs them up his torso before biting at the audience as he makes his way down to the ring.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Making his way to the ring for the evening, The Bizarre One; Gooolduuust!
MICHAEL COLE: And we go from strange to stranger, if that’s even possible. Goldust is called The Bizarre One for a reason; he doesn’t play by the same rules that other wrestlers do.
WADE BARRETT: And in this ladder match, he could utilize his moves to their maximum potential. I can only imagine that between Danhausen and Goldust, there’s going to be a lot of men nursing the family jewels with some ice after tonight.
Goldust allows the robe to fall from his shoulders as he ascends the stairs and gracefully goes between the ropes as he looks at the rest of the men in the ring and licks his lips at the thought of the possibilities. "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC hits the PA system of the arena as the fans erupt for the extreme legend, Lance Storm. He makes his way out onto the stage and raises his arms in the air before making his way down the ramp. As he makes his way down to the ring, he stares up at the briefcase hanging above the ring, stretches himself out, and rolls his neck to loosen himself up.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Making his way to the ring, The Thrillseeker, Laaance Stooorm!
MICHAEL COLE: Storm doesn’t get enough credit; he’s been served a bad hand so far, but he’s one of my personal favorites. He’s got a technical acumen in that ring that not many superstars can match.
WADE BARRETT: His age, one would think, was an issue, but I’ve seen him do things that even in my best days I couldn’t do. Honestly, he’s got to be my second choice for who I’d like to see walk out of here with that briefcase tonight!
”Remember The Name” by def rebel begins to play on the speakers, and the crowd erupts into boos as Austin Theory steps out to the top of the ramp. Looking out at the crowd with a cocky smirk, Austin shields his eyes as if to say how bright his future is as he makes his way down the ramp. He waves off the fans in the front row as they reach out and tells them he wouldn’t even touch them with a 10-foot pole if one were available. Pointing towards the briefcases, he slaps himself on the chest and says that he’s walking out with a shot at the WWE Championship by the time this match is through.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Making his way to the ring, The A-Hole from A-Town, Auuustiiin Theeeoryyy!
MICHAEL COLE: And of course, Theory isn’t making any friends tonight, Wade. He’s certainly allowed his alliance with the EVPs to get to his head a bit—that same cocky and brash attitude I don’t care for.
WADE BARRETT: I’ve changed my mind. Theory is my second choice, and Storm is my third choice to win this one. The A-Hole from A-Town is paired with guys that have probably imparted their knowledge to him, and that gives him the edge in my mind!
As Austin makes his way up the ring stairs, he checks out the competition already around the ring and laughs. Climbing to the top turnbuckle as the spotlight focuses on him, suddenly ”Le Manu” by Shepherds Reign hits the sound system, and Solo Sikoa slowly saunters his way out to the top of the ramp. Heyman speaks with his client as Sikoa nods, and Heyman makes his way to the back as Sikoa heads down to the ring. Sikoa is staring daggers through Shelley.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Making his way to the ring, The Street Champion; Solo Sikoooaaa!
MICHAEL COLE: But did you forget about Solo Sikoa? You’re looking at a man that’s being counseled by a venerable encyclopedia set of knowledge in his wiseman, Paul Heyman!
WADE BARRETT: Alright, everybody else moves down the list, and Sikoa is my new favorite! I should’ve bet on Sikoa before we came on the air; that’s guaranteed money we see walking down to the ring right now!
Sikoa slaps his hands down on the ring steps repeatedly before screaming as he points to the case above the ring and makes a cutting motion across his throat before he ascends the steps and enters the ring through the ropes. "Switchblade" hits, and the leader of Bullet Club Red comes out to a thunderous roar from the crowd, showing their approval of him. He lets the finger guns out as he fires above the crowd, and pyro shoots with each “pull” of the trigger, which impresses them even further with each one. He now holsters his guns as he saunters down to the ring confidently and removes his jacket, which he tosses into the crowd for a lucky fan to catch and take home.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Making his way to the ring, representing Bullet Club Red, Switchblaaade Jayyy Whiiite!
MICHAEL COLE: Bullet Club Red has got to be watching this one with bated breath in the back. Serena has her own blockbuster match later tonight, and I’m sure she would love to see Jay take home that briefcase tonight.
WADE BARRETT: They’ve been beset by issues in the past, but with their formal rivals being occupied in the WWE Tag Team Championship scene, you have to imagine this would be his shot. If he can climb that ladder tonight and grab the case, he’ll be able to get an opportunity to bring home the WWE Championship and really make Bullet Club Red the faction to beat!
LADDER MATCH
All nine men in this match are hesitant to be the ones to make the first move, but almost simultaneously, they pair off with one another and begin throwing hands quite quickly. Danhausen, however, has somehow managed to avoid grabbing any attention and slides out of the ring and under the apron to hide himself from the chaotic battles happening inside the ring. Sikoa has gone wild as he grabs Shelley by the throat and nails a SAMOAN SPIKE that sends him rolling out of the ring. He now turns and nails another one on Theory, who flops over the top rope, holding his throat, as he crashes and burns on the floor outside. White is the next victim Sikoa has in store for a spike, but he nails a kick below the belt that sends Sikoa rolling out of the ring holding his junk. Storm charges in at White and nearly takes his head off with a superkick, wiping the leader of Bullet Club Red out. Wayne, after seeing this, looks to go after a distracted Storm charging at him, but Storm ducks. Storm, however, uses his agility to hit an overhead kick! This sends Wayne backwards as Goldust wraps an arm around the neck and nails a bulldog to Wayne that wipes him out. Meanwhile, Theory is trying to take down Shelley, but Shelley dodges the offense, firing back with a thrust kick to the chest, dropping Theory.
MICHAEL COLE: That’s got to smart!
WADE BARRETT: This match is pure chaos at this point, and with nine men in the ring vying for one briefcase, it was bound to be that way!
Shelley rolls out of the ring after Theory, as we see Graves dodge a clothesline from Goldust, and he springboards off the ropes, but Goldust catches him in mid-air! Goldust tries to fallaway slam him as Wayne catches him with a leg sweep, dropping The Bizarre One and saving Graves for now! Graves gets back to his feet as both men look at each other and run off the ropes, connecting with a double basement dropkick to Goldust, with Wayne hitting him in the front while Graves hits him in the back. Goldust rolls out of the ring as we see White slide back in, and he gets met with a spinning back kick from Wayne! On the outside, Storm and Sikoa carry on brawling as Sikoa tosses Storm into a ladder at ringside! Lance holds his head in pain as Solo lifts him up and hits him with an Uranage onto the fallen ladder, wiping out Storm. The camera cuts back to the ring as we see Nick Wayne and Corey Graves staring each other down in the ring as the crowd gets excited at the prospect of the two going head-to-head.
MICHAEL COLE: This is an interesting staredown, with the younger Wayne hungry to prove himself and the more veteran Graves wanting to prove himself all over again!
WADE BARRETT: And neither of them wants to give an inch to the other!
Graves smiles while Wayne remains stoic as both men get ready to fight; however, Sikoa and Theory slide into the ring, attacking the pair to boos from the crowd. Sikoa goes after Graves, while Theory goes after Wayne. Both men lay into the other with several fists as Sikoa hits Graves with a belly-to-back suplex, while Theory connects with a german suplex, sending Wayne towards the center of the ring. Sikoa follows this up by running the ropes as he looks for a senton, but gets met with a ladder shot to the face from Jay White! Sikoa falls to the mat after the shot with the ladder as Theory charges at White, who tosses the ladder at him, causing Theory to fall to the mat. White quickly follows up by springboarding off the ropes and hitting a double-foot stomp, crushing Theory beneath the ladder! Theory now rolls out of the ring in pain as White gets back up to his feet. We then see Graves charging at him with a boot, but White hits him with a BLADE RUNNER! White gets back up as he sees Wayne coming at him and drops him with a BLADERUNNER as well!
MICHAEL COLE: White is cleaning house right now!
WADE BARRETT: It may be summer, but he forgot to get his spring cleaning done, so he’s working on that right now!
White makes his way back to the ladder, looking to pick it up, as he gets wiped out by a dropkick from Shelley! Shelley has an ecstatic grin on his face as he looks at the ladder on the mat, picking it up and using it to send the rising Theory out of the ring. Shelley then lifts the ladder into the air and drops it onto White! Meanwhile, Goldust has climbed to the top rope as he jumps off, but Shelley catches him in mid-air and hits a massive spinebuster onto the ladder! Goldust and White roll out of the ring as we can see Wayne on the outside, ready to slide back in, but something tells him to wait, not wanting to mess with the chaos in the ring right now. Alex Shelley picks up the ladder again and sets it up in the middle of the ring as he starts to make the climb. However, as he starts to make the climb, we see Storm slide into the ring and start to drag Shelley down off the ladder. Shelley lands on his feet as he goes after Storm, who ducks underneath him and follows up with a snap DDT!
MICHAEL COLE: Storm and Shelley are putting on a miniature clinic here!
WADE BARRETT: The extreme legend shows that he’s still a step ahead with that snap DDT!
However, Shelley shakes it off and clobbers Storm with a massive right hand, sending him backwards. Shelley then grabs hold of Storm as he looks to hit an underarm snap STO onto the ladder, but Storm counters with a hurricanrana, sending Shelley face first into the ladder and knocking it over. Shelley rolls out of the ring after going face first into the ladder as Storm looks to pick it up and reposition it in the center of the ring as he gets taken down by Wayne! Wayne starts laying stiff shots into the back of Storm before grabbing hold of him and hitting him with a dragon suplex. Wayne grabs the ladder and places it in one of the corners of the ring, and as he makes his way back to Storm on the mat, he whips him into the ladder in the corner of the ring back first! Wayne takes a moment before he charges in and connects with a running double knee strike, slamming Storm’s head into the ladder!
MICHAEL COLE: Wayne absolutely crushing Storm against that ladder!
WADE BARRETT: Probably just wanted to remind him that things are still extreme, Cole!
Storm falls down and rolls out of the ring. Wayne lets out a cocky smirk as he sees Shelley on the ring apron. Wayne charges at Shelley, who springboards over Wayne, running off the ropes and bouncing off to hit Wayne with a triangle dropkick! At this point, Sikoa makes his way back into the ring and goes after Shelley, who uses his speed to dodge the charging Samoan. Shelley then springboards off the ropes onto Sikoa's shoulder, balancing himself on them for a split second, and quick as a flash, he hits Wayne with a FROG SPLASH FROM SIKOA'S SHOULDERS! Wayne rolls out of the ring as Shelley grabs his ribs, but has no time to react as Sikoa grabs hold of him and locks in the guillotine choke! Shelley tries to get out of the hold, but no matter what he does, he cannot escape. However, as he is doing this, Danhausen slides into the ring. Sikoa is so focused on choking out Shelley that Danhausen is able to set up the ladder in the middle of the ring and start to make the climb. Sikoa finally sees what is happening and lets go of the hold before he drags Danhausen off the ladder.
MICHAEL COLE: Solo is not happy right now!
WADE BARRETT: He’s been working to get his opportunity, and Danhausen is trying to steal it from him!
Both men start throwing punches at each other as Sikoa takes control, with several hard strikes laying into Danhausen. He has Danhausen near the corner, but Danhausen counters with a superkick, sending him backwards! Danhausen doesn't stop there, as he follows up with a knee lift to the head. Sikoa wobbles slightly but looks very angry. Danhausen runs off the ropes, going for another one, but Sikoa counters with a belly-to-back suplex into the upright ladder! Sikoa grabs hold of Danhausen, lifting him into the air and slamming him down with a massive STO! Danhausen rolls out of the ring as Sikoa turns around and sees White on the top rope. However, as he dives off the top rope, Sikoa moves out of the way, causing White to crash and burn. Sikoa quickly follows this up by hitting White with a running senton, crushing him. Solo starts to trash talk White on the mat as the camera cuts to show Graves appear behind Solo Sikoa! Sikoa gets back to his feet and turns around into a spin kick to the head, and Sikoa is out for the count as he and White roll out of the ring to the outside. Graves turns to the ladder in the center of the ring as he gets ready to make the climb. He gets about halfway up the ladder as Shelley slides back into the ring!
MICHAEL COLE: Graves might want to turn around, because Shelley is right behind him!
WADE BARRETT: And it looks like he might get flattened by him!
Shelley goes straight for Graves on the ladder, but Graves, thinking quickly, flips off, landing on his feet! Shelley turns around and charges at Graves, but he dodges out of the way as he starts laying into Shelley with some low kicks to the leg. However, Shelley grabs hold of Graves as he looks to lift him into the air, but Graves transitions it into a modified octopus hold! Graves is looking to wear down the tag team specialist using the hold, while Shelley tries to find a way to escape the hold. Shelley ends up making it to the corner of the ring with the ladder in it and jumping backwards, sending Graves back first into the ladder and forcing him to let go of the hold! Shelley gets back up on his feet, struggling for breath, and as he stumbles a bit, Nick Wayne slides into the ring with a ladder of his own and clocks Shelley with it, sending him out of the ring! Wayne then sees Graves laid out on the ladder in the corner of the ring. He places the ladder he brought to the ring on the floor, makes his way over to Graves, and connects with several stomps to the mid-section of Graves!
MICHAEL COLE: Wayne still isn’t done tonight!
WADE BARRETT: He’s got his father’s expectation to live up to, Cole!
Wayne is not done there, though, as he grabs one of Grave's feet, placing it in between the ladder in the corner, and slamming the ladder on it a few times! Wayne then springboards off the ropes and stomps on the ladder, crushing Graves' foot, trying to not only take away his ability to climb the ladder but also his vertical base altogether! Graves rolls out of the ring, gritting his teeth and clutching his right foot, as Wayne then grabs the ladder he brought into the ring, places it in the center, and starts to climb it. He gets about halfway up the ladder as Storm joins him in the center of the ring, setting up his own ladder! Both men start to battle on the ladders, throwing fists as they try to knock the other man down. This has been going on for a while, as we see Theory on the ring apron. He takes a moment before springboarding from the ropes onto the two ladders! He would then start to fight both men, trying to overcome their superior power. However, as this is going on, Danhausen makes his way into the ring and joins the other three men on the top of the ladders as they all try to reach for the briefcase.
MICHAEL COLE: Well, this isn’t going to work!
WADE BARRETT: They’re all desperate for that briefcase, Cole! They aren’t thinking straight right now!
As the battle carries on, we see Shelley appear once again as he slides in between both ladders. He takes a moment before, with one arm on each ladder, he pushes both of them over, causing all four men to crash and burn! All four men now roll out of the ring as Shelley stands alone in the center of the ring. He picks up one of the ladders, moving it away from the center of the ring by tossing it towards the ropes. Shelley starts to set up the other ladder in the center of the ring as he starts to make the climb. However, before he can get too far up the ladder, Jay White jumps into the ring and dropkicks the ladder, sending it tumbling over. White gets to his feet, wincing a little, as Shelley rises to his feet, looking frustrated. Jay tries to think quickly as he charges at Shelley, looking for a slingblade, but Shelley counters with a swinging fisherman suplex, sending White crashing onto the ladder on the mat! White's back is in agony as Shelley picks him up and tosses him out of the ring. Shelley, however, does not stop there, as he sends White into the Spanish announce table back first. He then starts to rip apart the Spanish announce table, tossing the pieces to the side before he returns to White. Shelley lifts White into the air as he looks to hit him with a powerbomb through the table, but White fights back with several lefts and rights!
MICHAEL COLE: White knows what’s happening, and he doesn’t want to go through that table!
WADE BARRETT:And somebody should keep an eye on the ring because it looks like Danhausen has risen!
As this is going on, we can see Danhausen slowly making his way inside the ring. Back on the outside, White hits an arm drag, sending Shelley over the announce table and behind the commentary desk! White climbs onto the commentary table and jumps off it, onto the chest of Shelley. in the ring Danhausen has set up a ladder up as Sikoa once again joins him inside the ring. Sikoa tries to go for the guillotine choke one more time but Danhausen is ready for it and hits several elbows as he desperately fights off Soloa Sikoa sending Solo to the mat! Danhausen looks to follow up with a Goodnighthausen but Sikoa lands on his feet! Danhausen does not let that stop him however, as he springs back up hitting a GROIN PUNCH instead! However, as he looks to get back to his feet White tries to catch him by surprise but he also gets a GROIN PUNCH!! White rolls out of the ring as Danhausen gets back to his feet looking towards the ladder. As he takes the first step onto the ladder, Wayne grabs him from behind but he spins his way out of it and hits Wayne with a GROIN PUNCH!
MICHAEL COLE: OH!
WADE BARRETT: NO!
Wayne rolls out of the ring as Danhausen repositions the ladder, leaving the other one on the floor next to him, and makes the climb. Danhausen gets about three steps from the top as Graves slides into the ring. He takes a little longer than normal due to the damage done to his right foot as he uses his left foot to pepper the back of Danhausen, slowing him down for the moment. Graves makes his way up the ladder behind Danhausen as he starts trying to pry him off the ladder! He takes a few moments, but he can't quite pull Danhausen off the ladder. Danhausen is just too determined and starts elbowing Graves! Corey catches one of these elbows and counters him, locking in a dragon sleeper on Danhausen! Danhausen is starting to struggle as, on the other side of the ring, we see an opportunistic Wayne sneak inside! Wayne climbs the ladder as Graves sees Wayne making the climb on the other side! However, he does not act on it as Theory slides in and sends the ladder crashing down! Wayne and Danhausen roll out of the ring. Theory at this point lifts Graves into the air and hit A-Town Down him onto the fallen ladder not once, not twice, but three times, destroying Grave's back. Theory follows this up by tossing Graves out of the ring!
MICHAEL COLE: It’s all Austin right now!
WADE BARRETT: I told you he would win, Cole!
MICHAEL COLE: No you didn’t!
Austin Theory then reposition the ladder in the center of the ring as Alex Shelley slid back inside. Thinking quickly, Theory grabs the ladder that was on the mat and charges at Shelley, but Shelley grabs it, yanking it away from the cocky young superstar and tossing it behind him to the floor outside by the announce table. Theory tries to get away from Shelley, who grabs Theory and suplexes him to the floor outside, causing Theory to land on the ladder! Shelley seems to be enjoying this as he springboards off the apron and hits Theory with a missile dropkick! Shelley joins him on the outside of the ring as he sees the Spanish announce table and has an idea. Shelley uses all of his strength to put Theory on the announce table. Shelley then grabs the ladder that got thrown to the outside of the ring and set it up next to Theory, as it seems like he is about to go for the Frog Splash from the top of the ladder. Shelley gets halfway up the ladder as Sikoa recovers and attacks him from behind! Sikoa takes a few moments to grab hold of Shelley before hitting him with a LIFTING POWERBOMB FROM THE LADDER ONTO AUSTIN THEORY ON THE ANNOUNCE TABLE breaking it to boos from the crowd!
WADE BARRETT: Sikoa absolutely destroyed both men with that powerbomb!
MICHAEL COLE: And he's clearly pleased by that!
Sikoa smirks as he heads back to the ring, as he gets blindsided by Storm with a ladder! Storm wipes him out before turning to see White making his way into the ring and taking him out as well. Wayne thinks of sliding into the ring to attack Storm, but something tells him to pick a better moment as he stays on the outside once again. Graves also makes his way onto the apron but gets met with a shot to the face as Storm is taking out everyone in his path on his way to the briefcase! However, Sikoa is behind Storm and locks in a sleeper hold, causing Storm to drop the ladder he was holding! Sikoa looks to squeeze the life out of Storm, who is looking for a way to escape from the hold, but Sikoa realizing that Storm is trying to send him back first into the ladder, drags Storm down to the mat, stopping him! Storm tries to escape the sleeper, but it is of no use as Sikoa chokes him out! Sikoa lifts Storm's lifeless body up and tosses him from the ring. Sikoa lets out a shout, getting a mixed reaction from the crowd, as Wayne slides in behind him and hits him with a superkick to the back of the head, stunning him! Wayne grabs hold of Sikoa, looking to DDT him into the mat, but Sikoa overpowers Wayne with ease!
WADE BARRETT: Not the man you want to test!
MICHAEL COLE: The power of Sikoa will win every time!
Sikoa pushes Wayne back first into the ladder as he starts pounding Nick with several punches to the head! He then grabs hold of Wayne on the mat as he lifts him into the air and slams him back first onto the ladder! Wayne clutches his back as he rolls out of the ring. Sikoa, meanwhile, looks to reposition the ladder in the center of the ring as White climbs onto the apron and slingshots off it, hitting Solo with a dropkick, taking Sikoa off his feet as the two go head-to-head! White runs off the ropes, hitting the rising Sikoa with a slingblade and sending him down to the mat. White runs off the ropes again and hits him with a second one! White quickly follows it up by going for the Blade Runner, but Sikoa lifts him up and nails a Spinning Solo on White! Sikoa quickly follows this up by suplexing White onto the ladders behind him, destroying Graves' back! Sikoa is not done there, however, as he drags White up and hits him with an STO onto one of the two ladders, breaking it! Solo Sikoa is looking damn near unstoppable!
WADE BARRETT: Oh my god!
MICHAEL COLE: Graves was just put through that steel ladder by Sikoa!
White rolls out of the ring as Sikoa picks up the broken ladder and tosses it out of the ring. He repositions the non-broken ladder in the center of the ring, but before he can climb, he sees Corey Graves make his way into the ring with a pained look on his face as the two men come face to face in the center of the ring! They take a moment to stare each other down, getting loud boos from the crowd, but Goldust and Danhausen now have steel chairs in hand! They slide into the ring and attack both men with numerous chair shots to the back, taking both men down to cheers from the crowd! The odd pair grab Corey Graves, launching into the air, and toss him face first into the ladder, into the corner of the ring! Neither man is done there as they grab the chairs they brought to the ring, placing them on the mat. They make their way back over to Graves as they start beating him down with a few punches to the head. They both then grab hold of Graves, lifting him into the air, and hit him with a double powerbomb onto the steel chairs! Graves grabs his back as he clenches his jaw in pain and rolls out of the ring!
WADE BARRETT: And Graves gets the brunt of the punishment in this match again!
MICHAEL COLE: His back is going to look like hell tomorrow!
Both men turn around as we see the monstrous Sikoa make his way back to his feet with an angry snarl as he charges at the pair, taking them down with a double clothesline. He is not done there, as he lays into Goldust with several punches before lifting him into the air and hitting him with a german suplex! Sikoa looks to attack Danhausen but gets met with a chair shot, stopping him in his path. Danhausen is not done there, as he runs off the ropes and connects with a rocket kick, dropping Sikoa! Wayne takes the opportunity to slide back in and begin climbing the ladder, as Goldust and Danhausen are still looking for trouble but not realizing he’s on his climb. The crowd boos as he gets about a quarter of the way up when Goldust and Danhausen see him. Wayne pauses for a moment, realizing the trouble he’s in, as they both grab ladders on either side of him and begin pulling them apart from each other. Wayne slowly goes into a split position as they pull apart, as he looks up at the briefcase that he could almost taste. Danhausen motions for Goldust to go ahead; Nick Wayne, however, pleads with him not to do it! SHATTERED DREAMS! Wayne falls to the canvas, holding his groin, before he rolls out of the ring in pain.
WADE BARRETT: I could feel that one, Cole!
MICHAEL COLE: Ooof, me too, Wade!
As Goldust turns to his temporary ally, he spots too late as he’s hit with a GROIN PUNCH! Goldust can’t believe it, as the betrayal he’s feeling can be seen in his eyes as he crumbles to the canvas and rolls out of the ring to recover from the devastating blow. Danhausen takes the opportunity to climb and is about halfway up the ladder as we see Storm on the apron. He flies off the ropes and onto the ladder on the other side, shocking Danhausen. Both men get to the top of the ladder as they start to battle each other. Both men are throwing hands, as both men are desperate and exhausted after this long match! However, as they are battling, Shelley reappears and pushes the ladder down to the mat! Both men look like they are going to crash and burn. Danhausen, thanks to his agility, lands on his feet! Shelley, seeing this, responds by turning around and taking Danhausen's head off with a massive clothesline, wiping out Danhausen and sending him out of the ring for the moment. Shelley looks to reposition the ladder as Storm hits him with a dropkick to the back, stunning him and causing him to put the ladder slightly off-center from the briefcase! Shelley turns around as Storm runs off the ropes looking for a superkick, but Shelley catches him in mid-air and drops him with a spinning sit-out slam onto the mat. Storm is back up, however, thanks to the ropes, as he catches the rising Shelley with a knee to the face, stopping him for a moment.
WADE BARRETT: Shelley looks dazed by that knee!
MICHAEL COLE: Right to the face, I’d imagine he is dazed!
Storm starts hitting Shelley with some stiff uppercuts as he forces Shelley into the corner. He charges at Shelley, but he counters with a big boot, stopping him in his tracks. Danhausen, though, while this is happening, has climbed to the top rope as he flies through the air, but Shelley catches him while he is in mid-air with a dropkick that crashes him on top of Storm. Storm rolls out of the ring, selling the impact, as Shelley has to take a moment to readjust the ladder. He starts to climb the ladder and is a couple of rungs away from the top as Danhausen starts to climb the other side of the ladder! Danhausen refuses to give up, as he joins Alex Shelley at the top of the ladder. Shelley reaches for the briefcase, but Danhausen hits him with a few punches, doing a small bit of damage to his midsection. Shelley, however, responds with some thunderous rights, nearly sending Danhausen off the ladder, but the very nice, very evil superstar refuses to give in. He takes a moment to steady himself before leaping in the air and connecting with a dropkick sending both men tumbling down to the mat!
WADE BARRETT: Please! For the love of all that is right in this world! Somebody stop him!
MICHAEL COLE: Danhausen doesn’t seem to be able to be stopped!
Danhausen climbs to his feet after the crash landing, taking a moment to recover. Danhausen sees Shelley starting to move on the mat and hits him with a basement superkick, stopping Shelley for a moment, but he knows that won't keep him down for long. Danhausen lifts Shelley to his feet, as he’s got him on his shoulders now. In a feat of strength like that of which we’ve never seen from the likes of Danhausen, he climbs the ladder as fast as he can. He takes a moment once he gets to the top of the ladder before taking a deep breath and dropping Shelley off his shoulders with a GOODNIGHTHAUSEN from the top of the ladder. Danhausen is breathing heavily as he sees the carnage below him and then slowly looks up to spot the briefcase hanging just above his head. This is his moment, and he reaches up, grabbing hold of the carabiner to open the gate mechanism and pull the briefcase free! DANHAUSEN HAS DONE IT!
WINNER
DANHAUSEN

SAMANTHA IRVIN: Here is your winner, and Mr. Money in the Bank 2024, the Very Nice, Very Evil DAAANHAAAUUUSEN!
WADE BARRETT: Pinch me, Cole! Wake me up from this damn nightmare! There is no way that just happened!
MICHAEL COLE: Haha, oh, but it did happen, Wade! Danhausen is the proud owner of a very nice, brand new briefcase! And he might have some very evil intentions with it!
WADE BARRETT: I hate everything.
Medical workers are all around the ring, with the officials checking on every man who isn’t left standing. Danhausen sits atop the ladder and holds up the briefcase for the crowd that is going absolutely wild over his victory here tonight. White and Sikoa are being helped up the rampway. Graves is currently being held up on either side as his foot is feeling the pain of being crushed earlier between the ladders. Wayne and Theory are both still down and don’t look to be moving at this point. Goldust is being carried by The Blue Meanie, who has made his way out here to help his mommy. Shelley is leaning against the barricade as Sabin is talking to him, and Danhausen is now holding both the briefcase and his jar of teeth high as he sits atop the ladder still and kicks his feet like a small child on a seat that’s too high.
The cameras go to the backstage area where we find Byron Saxton with a mic in hand. He looks quite pleased as he prepares to conduct an interview, though there’s no one to do it with at the moment. But the man has a plan and motions for the camera to follow him as he heads down the hall to his right. A couple steps and a camera pan later we find him side by side with KAIRI and Kyona Yano, the former getting a big pop from the WWE Universe. Both are dressed semi-formally, though KAIRI still has her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship on her shoulder.
BYRON SAXTON: Fans, the evening gets more and more exciting! I’m here with the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, KAIRI. KAIRI, what do you think of tonight’s action so far?
The champion glances off to her right toward an elevator, an anxious smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. Even as Captain KAIRI turns toward the camera and prepares to answer the question, Kyona keeps glancing over at the elevator.
KAIRI: It’s been crazy, for sure. Money in the Bank’s one of the most unpredictable shows of the year! I may not have a match tonight but that means I can enjoy it as a fan for a little while. Well actually - -
She tugs at the strap of her title and grins just a bit wider at the reminder of her recent accomplishments.
KAIRI: That’s not completely possible now that I’ve finally claimed this championship, because I do have a target on my back. This championship symbolizes the highest standards of professional wrestling. It may not be the top title by name, but it’s the one everyone will be wanting. And the more times I go into the ring and show the world what I can do, the more the girls in the back will be paying attention to it. The higher I elevate it, the more dangerous challengers I’m going to attract. So tonight, I’m going to be keeping a close eye on all the action so that I’m ready for whoever decides they should be the third Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
Just as she mentions this, the Cyber Pirates are interrupted by the arrival of some intimidating company. Like a monster walking out of the shadows in a nightmare, Jamie Hayter steps into view. Like the champion she’s wearing street clothes, but her posture suggests that the Most Powerful Woman in Wrestling is ready to throw down at a moment’s notice. Everyone on the scene goes deathly quiet as Jamie steps up to KAIRI and stares her right in the eyes. Not one to back down from any challenger, KAIRI steps up to Jamie and glares expectant daggers right back at her. For a long, tense moment, the two stand there, daring each other to make a move. Finally, Jamie’s gaze drifts to the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on KAIRI’s shoulder. In response, Captain KAIRI shifts the belt up onto her shoulder, as if questioning Jamie’s intentions.
JAMIE HAYTER Congrats, champ.
Without raising a hand, Jamie steps back and offers only a nod to KAIRI to signal her approval for the Captain’s recent championship victory. KAIRI nods back, her expression full of unspoken understanding.
KAIRI: Thanks. You know where to find me.
With those few words, Jamie walks away with somehow even more confidence than she had upon arrival. KAIRI offers a playful wave reminiscent of the one she gave after eliminating Jamie from the battle royal where she won the belt in the first place. Her amusement fades only a little bit as Kyona steps up to her and stares off in the direction Jamie headed.
KYONA YANO: Hey KAIRI, you sure about this? You’ve only had a taste of what she can do. She’s dangerous. VERY dangerous. Trust me, I know all about it - - we went to war in Japan when you were over here last time. It...wasn’t pretty.
KAIRI: Anyone, anywhere, right? Whatever it takes?
Kyona’s expression only softens a tiny bit, and she seems to be questioning her friend’s sanity. After a moment both of them freeze, then turn around to find Byron Saxton is still there. He holds his mic expectantly, and KAIRI very nearly re-engages in the interview. It’s only when she also shoots a glance to the elevator that the champion elects not to. When she looks back to the camera it’s with an apologetic look.
KAIRI: Sorry about that. We’re actually here to do the Japanese commentary for the rest of the show. I guess Funaki’s partner had an emergency and Funaki got called in to a meeting. But the champ is here! And she’s going to make this the most exciting Money in the Bank broadcast ever with her First Mate, Kyona!
Kyona pumps her fist and smiles with the pride of a lioness.
KYONA YANO: Please look forward to our expert commentary! Captain KAIRI and the Cyber Commando will be with you all night!
Suddenly there’s a huge pop as an unexpected third woman appears. Even with the cropped leather jacket and her hair pulled back her identity is unmistakable - - IYO SKY is here! She throws an arm around the other two women’s shoulders and grins confidently.
IYO SKY: So will the Genius of the Sky. Come on, you really didn’t expect me to leave my two best students hanging, did you?
KAIRI glares at IYO, shaken by the second unexpected arrival in such a short span of time. She pulls away enough to look her longtime friend and rival in the eyes, then sighs. Kyona meanwhile seems totally cool with the development and starts chatting in Japanese with her. After a few quick exchanges that aren’t translated, they all turn to the camera and wave as a final prelude to heading upstairs as the cameras go back to the announcers at ringside.
MICHAEL COLE: What an exchange between KAIRI and Jamie Hayter, we’ll have to keep an eye on those two women in the coming weeks I’m sure! And what a surprise to see IYO SKY here to visit KAIRI And Kyona! And in a similar vein to IYO being here tonight, we have some exciting news, Wade! We hear that we've got a guest with us tonight, who is here in the crowd to watch the action closely. No doubt scouting some potential competition!
WADE BARRETT: That's right, Cole. We hear that Saraya is here tonight!
The camera shows Saraya in the crowd, standing in the front row. She beams a bright smile and raises a hand to wave towards the camera as the crowd responds with a positive reaction.
MICHAEL COLE: Isn't it great to see Saraya in the house tonight?
WADE BARRETT: Absolutely, Cole. She's picked an excellent event to show up at! I'm sure she'll enjoy watching this incredible show, like the rest of us!
MICHAEL COLE: Well, Saraya and the rest of the WWE Universe better strap in, because with this next contest, I think we’re going to be in for one bumpy ride.
WADE BARRETT: You could say that again, Cole. This next bout might be for the WWE Tag Team Championships, but there’s so much more at stake. These two teams have quite the score to settle.
MICHAEL COLE: The Best Tag Team in the World is set to defend their gold against the duo known as “Strong Island”, Matt Cardona and MJF.
WADE BARRETT: Stevie Richards and CM Punk had to go to great lengths to re-capture those belts from The Young Bucks, and tonight it could all be for naught, if Cardona and MJF manage to steal one.
MICHAEL COLE: This rivalry has become intensely personal in the last few weeks, and now it’s time for it to come to a head! This one oughta be good!
Without much warning, the intro to "Dig Deep" by RW Smith begins to blare over the sound system, causing a raucous ovation immediately. After a few seconds of anticipation being built up, the duo of Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Matt Cardona, collectively known as "Strong Island", step out onto the entrance way. Despite being men of low moral fiber, they still have their fair share of supporters in Las Vegas. Cardona and MJF take a second to pose at the top of the ramp, before trotting down the ramp.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: The following tag team contest is scheduled for one fall, and it is for the WWE Tag Team Championship! Introducing the challengers, making their way to the ring, the team of Matt Cardona and Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Strrrooong IIIslaaand!
MICHAEL COLE: Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Matt Cardona have been a proverbial thorn in the side of Punk and Richards for weeks now. Can these two finish the job and capture the WWE Tag titles?
MJF and Cardona confidently march down the entrance aisle, before climbing up onto the ring. Cardona climbs up on the second turnbuckle, while MJF stands on the apron and the duo hits a pose for the hard cam that draws more heat from the crowd. After the two take their corner and remove their entrance jackets, Max's entrance music is cut short by the infamous static that kicks off Living Colour's "Cult of Personality". The Las Vegas crowd erupts, and the camera quickly begins to pan around the arena, displaying all of the excited fans here in Allegiant Stadium.
WADE BARRETT: It is absolutely electric in here! What support for the champions!
After a few seconds, Stevie Richards walks out onto the entrance ramp, followed closely by CM Punk, which draws another huge ovation from the crowd. With their belts draped over their shoulders, the duo stops at the top of the entrance ramp where Punk kneels down to check his watch, before cupping his hands and shouting out with the crowd "IT'S CLOBBERIN' TIME", before rising back up to his feet and walking down the ramp with Stevie.
SAMANTHA IRVIN: And their opponents, they are the reigning and defending WWE Tag Team Champions, CM Punk and Stevie Richards The Best Tag Team in the Worrrld!
MICHAEL COLE: These two men have certainly lived up to their name as of late, as Punk and Stevie have essentially run the tag team division as of late.
WADE BARRETT: But could that run be coming to an end, Cole? Don't act like you didn't see the nervousness in Stevie Richards' eyes earlier tonight. He knows he's the weak link of his team!
The two trot down the ramp, giving a few fans high-fives along the way. The cameras cut back to MJF and Cardona who both were staring holes through Richards and Punk. As Richards and Punk posed for the hard cam, lifting their WWE Tag Titles high in the air, we saw a barrage of pyro go off! Punk and Richards took their corner, folded their belts up and gave them a momentary kiss good-bye, before handing their belts off to the referee in charge. He displayed the belts for the hard cam, as the tension in the arena was practically palpable at this point.
TAG TEAM MATCH
The referee checks to see if both teams are ready before calling for the bell. The bell rings throughout the arena, signaling the start of the match and it appears that Punk and MJF will be starting things out here tonight. While across the ring from each other, the two talk a little trash to each other as they circle around, readying to lock up, and it's clear that Punk is eager to get his hands on Max. Except, before the two can tie up, MJF is quick to tag himself out and tag in Cardona, and even Cardona looks a little caught off guard.
MICHAEL COLE: We're just seconds into this match and MJF is already playing games with CM Punk.
WADE BARRETT: When you're as good as Maxwell Jacob Friedman, you make people do things on your time, Cole. You wouldn't know anything about that.
Punk shakes his head and rolls his eyes as Max exits the ring and Cardona enters. MJF slips some last second advice to Cardona, before sending him off to battle. Cardona and Punk circle around for a second before locking up in the center of the ring. Cardona snatches a headlock out of the collar-and-elbow tie-up, and quickly wrenches on it, taunting Punk the whole time. Punk is quick to reverse out and snatch a side headlock of his own. Punk takes him down with a side headlock takeover, and Cardona goes to try to lock in a quick head-scissor attempt, but Punk fights it off and works on the side headlock on the ground, finding his forearm across Cardona's face and trading verbal shots with MJF in the corner. Cardona works his way back up to a vertical base, despite Punk still holding the side headlock. Cardona gives Punk an elbow to the gut, and then quickly reverses to a headlock of his own. Punk responds by driving Cardona into the ropes to loosen his grip, then shoving him off. Cardona rebounds off the ropes and gives Punk a shoulder tackle, sending CM Punk crashing down to the mat. Cardona grins triumphantly and talks some trash, before hitting the ropes once again. Punk ducks him this time, causing Cardona to hop over him. Cardona hits the opposite ropes and comes back, and Punk leap frogs over Cardona. Again, Cardona hits the ropes with a ton of momentum and Punk executes a nice lucha pass, sending Cardona again into the ropes. Matt bounces off and eats a jumping calf kick from Punk that sends him crashing down to the mat, and clutching at his mouth. Punk shoves him back down and goes for a cover! 1…2…Cardona powers out!
MICHAEL COLE: What a shot from CM Punk! He might have knocked one of Cardona's teeth out with that one!
WADE BARRETT: I'm sure Chelsea Green is not going to like that one bit.
After the pin attempt, Punk grabs Cardona and brings him to his corner, where he tags in Stevie Richards. Richards hops over the ropes and into the ring, and the two immediately execute a double suplex to Matt Cardona, before Punk quickly hops out of the ring. Cardona clutches his back as MJF barks instructions at him, but Richards is quick on the attack. Richards picks up Cardona and hoists him up, dropping him across his knee for a big time back breaker. He shoves Cardona down and goes for another cover. 1…2…kick out again! Stevie picks up Cardona and gives him a club to the back, before sending him off into a neutral corner. Cardona crashes into the turnbuckle back first, and we see him clutching at his back again. It's evident that The Best Tag Team in the World have done some damage to the back, and they’re trying to capitalize. With Cardona in the corner, Richards charges in…and eats a desperate elbow from Cardona! Cardona boosts himself up on the second rope, and Stevie charges in yet again - - only to eat a big boot to the jaw! Stevie stumbles back, and Cardona stands up tall before leaping off and nailing Stevie with a Rough Ryder!
WADE BARRETT: This might be the opening that Strong Island needs here! Cardona just scored big!
Cardona sees his opportunity and goes in for the cover! 1…2…2.95! Richards gets his shoulder up just in time! Cardona can’t believe it! He rises to his knees and grabs Stevie by the hair, pulling him up and dragging him towards his corner. Cardona gives Stevie a knee to the gut before tagging in MJF which draws a surprisingly huge pop from the crowd. MJF enters the ring and immediately goes to work, driving a knee right into the ribs of the downed Richards while locking eyes with CM Punk. Punk scowls, but he can only watch his partner fall prone. MJF drags Stevie out of the corner and turns him over, only to drop a knee right across his opponent’s forehead. Richard pops up from the impact and rolls over, clutching his jaw in agony, but his opponent isn’t finished. Max grabs him by the wrist and pulls him up, only to drill him with another quick kick to the gut and plant him with a snap DDT! At this point in the match, MJF has spent the majority of the match just abusing Stevie Richards and taunting CM Punk for not being able to do anything about it, and Punk finally looks like he’s had enough. He tries to climb through the ropes, but the ref gets between them and orders Punk back. Punk tries to argue, but the ref isn’t having it, and MJF and Matt Cardona use the distraction to trade turns taking shots at Stevie in the corner!
WADE BARRETT: What's that old adage? If you're not cheating, you're not trying?
MICHAEL COLE: If that's the case, Cardona and MJF are two of the biggest try-hards I've ever seen in my life!
Richards, still isolated in the wrong corner, tries to fight back with a pair of sharp elbows, but is immediately shut down with a big clubbing blow to the back. Max drags Stevie's face across the top rope, as the referee warns him with the threat of disqualification and begins the count. MJF stops at four and throws his hands up, before delivering a swift kick to Stevie's abused stomach. MJF turns Stevie and tucks his opponent’s head between his legs. He calls for a powerbomb, talking trash at the crowd while he does so. He hoists Stevie up...and Stevie begins to punch Max! MJF begins to stagger, and Stevie sees his chance…HURRICANRANA! Stevie lands on his stomach and drags himself to the corner to make the tag! The crowd roars as Punk comes in, immediately springboards up to the top rope and delivers a huge flying clothesline that almost takes MJF out of his shoes just as he gets back to his feet! MJF is back up to his feet and throws a wild clothesline that Punk is able to counter...right into a swinging neckbreaker! Punk is on rolling now as he calls for Max to get back up, and he immediately sends him back down with a big time clothesline! Punk's momentum continues as he turns and decks Matt Cardona, sending Cardona crashing to the floor! He focuses his attention back to Max, and he lights him up with a strike combo that has MJF dazed on his feet! MJF begs off to the corner as Punk sets himself up for the big corner knee. Just then, Matt Cardona tries to enter the ring with a steel chair!
MICHAEL COLE: Hey, what the hell is Matt Cardona doing?!
WADE BARRETT: He's doing what needs to be done, Cole!
The referee sees Cardona and immediately tries to stop him. Punk pays it no mind as he charges in towards MJF, looking to hit the big corner knee, but MJF ducks it, and Punk folds as the crowd realizes MJF caught him with a mid-air low blow off the distraction from Cardona! MJF stumbles back to his corner to catch a breath and talk with Cardona while Punk clutches himself in the center of the ring in agony, doing everything he can to crawl to his own corner. Just then, we see a groggy Stevie Richards reach over the top rope and slap CM Punk on the back, tagging himself in. Only the referee sees it, as MJF has his attention on Matt Cardona, who is crowing on the apron and taunting the crowd by placing an invisible crown on top of his head. MJF gets to his feet and stalks over, motioning like he's going to hit a piledriver on CM Punk before slowly pulling him up into position. Just then, Stevie Richards charges in and catches MJF right on the chin with a Stevie Kick! It staggers MJF back into the ropes, knocking Cardona off the apron and down to the ground! MJF is staggered and finds himself caught in Stevie Richard's grasp…Richards hits the Stevie-T! He turns MJF over and hooks the leg! 1…2…3! The crowd explodes! They can't believe it! Stevie can't believe it!
WINNERS
THE BEST TAG TEAM IN THE WORLD
11:16 via PINFALL
SAMANTHA IRVIN: Here are your winners and STIIILL the WWE Tag Team Champions, Stevie Richards and CM Punk, THE BEST TAG TEAM IN THE WORRRLD!
MICHAEL COLE: I don't believe it! Stevie Richards just defeated MJF with some clever positioning and just retained the titles for his team!
WADE BARRETT: An absolute travesty has just taken place!
MICHAEL COLE: Travesty? That was a perfectly legal finish! If MJF and Matt Cardona had been paying attention instead of counting their chickens before they hatched, then perhaps they’d be the ones holding the gold right now.
CM Punk and Stevie Richards stand tall in the ring, their belts raised in one hand while the ref raises their other in victory, and the crowd screams their approval. The two champions share a look with the downed MJF, who clutches his head beside Matt Cardona, who looks positively shell shocked at ringside. The two men step through the ropes and begin their slow walk back up the ramp, high-fiving with fans at ringside.
The cameras go backstage where Enzo Amore strides down the dimly lit hallway, the sound of his boots echoing off the walls. His eyes are sharp, scanning for his next target. As he approaches a group of stagehands, he smirks, gripping his microphone like a weapon.
ENZO AMORE: Hey, you! Yeah, you with the headset. You think you know what it takes to run this place? Lemme tell ya somethin’ - - it ain’t about pushin’ buttons and shoutin’ orders. It’s about havin’ the guts to step into that ring and face the heat - - AND YOU CAN’T TEACH THAT!
The stagehand’s face turns red as Enzo laughs and moves on, his swagger undeniable. He spots a young rookie wrestler leaning against the wall, scrolling through his phone. Enzo snatches the phone out of his hand, glaring at him.
ENZO AMORE: What you lookin’ at, kid? Tryin’ to find some inspiration? Well, take a good look at me, ‘cause I’m the definition of it. You might got the muscles, but you ain’t got the brains or the style to match me - - AND YOU CAN’T TEACH THAT!
The rookie wrestler stares in shock as Enzo tosses the phone back and continues his march down the hallway, his confidence growing with every step. He notices a couple of production crew members chatting and quickly interjects himself into their conversation.
ENZO AMORE: What’s up, fellas? Discussin’ the next big match, huh? Well, let me clue you in on somethin’. It don’t matter who you put in that ring, ‘cause when Enzo Amore steps through those ropes, it’s game over. I’m the realest guy in the room, The OG! And ain’t nobody got the chops to hang with me - - AND YOU CAN’T TEACH THAT!
Enzo’s words cut through the chatter like a knife, leaving the crew members speechless. He continues his path, spotting a familiar face - an old rival. He stops, pointing directly at him.
ENZO AMORE: Well, well, well, look who we have here. Still tryin’ to make a name for yourself, huh? Let me remind you who put you on the map. Every time you think you’re gettin’ close, I pull ahead. That’s the Enzo Amore way - -AND YOU CAN’T TEACH THAT!
With a final smirk, Enzo turns away from the stunned superstar and makes his way to the cameraman who’s been following him. He gets up close, almost nose-to-nose, the intensity in his eyes burning bright.
ENZO AMORE: You catchin’ all this? Good. ‘Cause pretty soon, the entire WWE Universe is gonna see what I’m all about. The charisma, the style, the talent - it’s all right here, and it’s unstoppable! AND YOU CAN’T TEACH THAT!
With that, Enzo pushes past the cameraman and reaches his locker room door. He opens it, glancing back over his shoulder one last time.
ENZO AMORE: Bada boom stay tuned. The best is yet to come!
He steps inside and slams the door behind him, the echo reverberating down the hallway. Inside, he takes a deep breath, a smirk playing on his lips as the cameras fade out to commercial.
Tune in next week to witness the fallout from Money in the Bank!
