The Sunday Night Heat intro plays and the fans inside the arena begin to cheer loudly, as the lights begin to flicker and spotlights cut through the crowd. As the shows intro ends, the camera pans around the arena and catches a few shots of rowdy fans who are cheering loudly. We cut to the commentary booth, where Beth Phoenix and Mauro Ranallo are ready to announce for the evening. MAURO RANALLO: Ladies and gentlemen, after a week off, we welcome you back to Sunday Night Heat! I'm Mauro Ranallo joined as always by Beth Phoenix. One week ago, the WWE Universe was shaken to its core when Danhausen and Dakota Kai won the coveted Money in the Bank briefcases! BETH PHOENIX: They've each earned themselves an any time, any place title shot and I can't wait to see when they decide to take their opportunities! MAURO RANALLO: It's definitely going to be interesting to see what happens over the course of the next twelve months, and more than that I'm curious if they'll be successful!BETH PHOENIX: Can you imagine Danhausen as WWE Champion, Mauro? MAURO RANALLO: I'll be honest, I never considered it a possibility before, but now it may very well become a reality! BETH PHOENIX: You never know what's going to happen in the WWE, that's for sure! I'm just hoping Pat McAfee has something yummy in store for us tonight, it felt wrong not having any delicious takeout last week! Let's not waste any more time, though, let's get another night of white hot action underway! The camera cuts away, as the fans and the rest of the WWE Universe await the first match of Sunday Night Heat.

Before the first in ring action, we head to the backstage interview area where a backdrop with a pattern of WWE logos has been set up. Rather than Megan Morant at the ready with a mic, we find KAIRI with the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on her shoulder. Even the Captain alone is enough to get a sizable pop from the crowd. As the camera goes live KAIRI glances to her right ever so briefly before returning her attention to the WWE Universe. Her pleasant smile is tinged with a hint of anxiousness.
KAIRI: Hey WWE Universe! Your Women’s Intercontinental Champion here to put in some more work. Whether it’s in the ring or out of it, Captain KAIRI is always ready to show the world what she can do. And tonight-
She simultaneously claps her hands for emphasis; though her smile remains, her eyes flit to her right as if expecting someone or something to appear there. When nothing does, she sails on into the storm anyway.
KAIRI: It’s going to be something special for all of Captain KAIRI’s Crew! Raw’s the most exciting show every Monday night, but there’s so much thrilling action it’s hard to keep track of it all. That’s why -
This time she turns her head to the right to check, again finding herself alone.
KAIRI: That’s why Kyona and I are going to break it all down for you right here on Sunday Night Heat. We’ll talk about the matches coming up and make some predictions about what might go down. Our first episode should be starting any moment now - The champion begins to tap her foot impatiently as Kyona still fails to materialize. Before deciding to pivot she pulls her phone out, and immediately her eyes go wide. She taps at it a couple of times to investigate further. The more she digs the more she gives voice to nagging thoughts in Japanese. After one last scroll she suddenly turns on her ankle and rushes off down the hall, taking a sudden right at the nearby corner. Given the full fledged sprint she fled with it’s clear something serious must be going on.
Our shot lingers on the interview space just a bit too long before the cameraman seems to realize there’s a hot scoop to be had. Suddenly the shot shakes chaotically as the person operating it races after KAIRI in the hopes of finding out what’s going down. Just as the camera rounds the corner we catch KAIRI crouching near the locker room door. As the camera gets closer we can make out the form of a woman lying motionlessly on the floor - Kyona Yano! KAIRI frantically shakes her by the shoulder, eliciting only pained groans from her friend.
KAIRI: Kyona?! Kyona, what the hell happened? Who did this?!
As KAIRI attempts to help her friend off the floor, Kyona cries out in pain and clutches her right knee. Agony fills her expression as tears start to well up in her eyes. It quickly becomes apparent that Kyona is in terrible shape, too badly beaten by the unseen assault to stand. KAIRI’s eyes dart around, seeking anyone who might be able to assist. And, perhaps, clues as to the perpetraotr.
KAIRI: We need help here! SOMEONE HELP!
A moment later some WWE crew arrive on the scene, medical personnel trailing behind them. As they arrive on the scene KAIRI glares at the camera and motions for its operator to leave. The last thing we see is KAIRI frantically speaking in Japanese with Kyona while the trainers prepare a stretcher.

We now return to the commentary table where Beth Phoenix and Mauro Ranallo are seated, their expressions a mix of concern and anticipation, their eyes flickering with a mix of emotions that signal something big is unfolding.MAURO RANALLO: What an unexpected and troubling scene we just witnessed backstage. Kyona Yano, set to make her debut alongside our Women’s Intercontinental Champion KAIRI, has been viciously attacked. BETH PHOENIX: That was absolutely heartbreaking, Mauro. Kyona looked to be in terrible shape, and it's clear someone had it out for her. The big question now is: who would do something like this? MAURO RANALLO: Indeed, Beth. We hope to get more information soon, but right now, we need to shift our focus back to the ring. Tonight is the debut of Heatwave, where these talented competitors will get their chance to shine and earn a full-time WWE contract. BETH PHOENIX: The sound of Heatwave has me thinking back to Tough Enough and Diva Search! A lot of amazing athletes came out of these competitions, and after having a sneak peek at some of the competitors, I know we’re in for an electrifying night! The arena lights dim as “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter hits the speakers, and the crowd buzzes with anticipation. The energy is electric, a mix of cheers and curious murmurs filling the air as the competitors make their entrance.First down the ramp is Raychell Rose, waving to the fans with a confident smile, her aura exuding determination. Following her, Dani Jordyn strides down, her presence commanding attention. Sonny Kiss flips and twirls their way down the ramp, earning a huge pop from the crowd with their acrobatics and infectious charisma. Scarlett Bordeaux saunters down with a sultry pose, blowing kisses to the audience, captivating them with every step. Heat regular Renee Michelle enters next with a fierce, determined look, acknowledging the fans with a wave. Lastly, another Heat regular, Viva Van, makes her way down, exuding a fierce energy, high-fiving fans as she goes.MAURO RANALLO: Here they are, folks! The Heatwave competitors, each of them handpicked for their hard work, standout performances or I guess, assets. BETH PHOENIX: Or maybe a combination of all, Mauro. The competitors gather in the ring, striking poses for pictures as the fans cheer wildly. The excitement in the arena is palpable, anticipation building for what promises to be an unforgettable competition. Megan Morant stands in the center of the ring with a microphone, ready to kick off the event.MEGAN MORANT: Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for our first ever Heatwave! The crowd erupts in cheers, though there are some boos mixed in, adding to the charged atmosphere. Megan Morant raises a hand to silence them, her expression radiating enthusiasm.MEGAN MORANT: These talented women will compete in various challenges. Only two will make it to the final at SummerSlam, where one will win $100,000 and a full-time WWE contract! The lights suddenly turn to a purple dim as the scratchings of “Hammer Jammer” begins to blare through the speakers. The crowd's reaction is mixed as Dawn Marie appears from behind the curtains, posing on the ramp in a stunning black and gold sequined catsuit. She smirks confidently, soaking in the audience’s reaction as she slowly makes her way down the ramp with a commanding presence.BETH PHOENIX: And here comes Dawn! Always a commanding presence, and tonight is no different! Dawn Marie ascends the steps, gracefully ducking under the ropes to enter the ring. She takes a moment to survey the Heatwave competitors, her expression a blend of disdain and approval. Megan hands her the microphone and steps out of the ring as her music fades.DAWN MARIE: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the first-ever Heatwave competition! The crowd’s reaction becomes more subdued, their attention fully on Dawn Marie. She smirks, clearly relishing the spotlight.DAWN MARIE: And following what Megan said, these ladies will be put to the test, competing in various challenges and tests through the weeks. Only two will make it to the final at SummerSlam, where one will not only win the fame that comes with it all, but $100,000, and a full-time WWE contract! But let’s be clear, girls, this isn't some walk in the park. Yeah, I’ve handpicked you for your potential, but each of you are gonna have to prove that you have what it takes to survive in this bitch-eat-bitch world. The crowd erupts in cheers again, the competitors exchanging determined looks. Dawn Marie’s eyes narrow as she scans the group, a hint of a sneer on her lips.DAWN MARIE: Now, let’s get to know these hopefuls! I want each of you to introduce yourselves and try to impress the wonderful WWE Universe. And trust me, you’ll need to impress me too if you want to get anywhere. Raychell Rose steps forward first with a smile, taking the microphone from Dawn who smirks back.RAYCHELL ROSE: Hey everyone! I’m Raychell Rose, and I’m here to prove that hard work and dedication can make dreams come true. I’ve been doing my thing on Heat but now I’m ready to run it on Raw! Let’s do this! The crowd responds with cheers as Raychell steps back. Dawn Marie raises an eyebrow, still unimpressed but moves on. Next, Dani Jordyn takes the microphone, flipping her hair back confidently.DANI JORDYN: You guys already know me! I’m Dani Jordyn, and I’m the Real Mean Girl, and I’m here to show you why I’m the one to beat in this competition! The crowd reacts with a mix of boos and cheers, enjoying Dani's bravado. Dawn Marie gives a slight nod of approval, appreciating Dani’s confidence. Sonny Kiss steps forward now, their energy palpable as the crowd already made their mind up after the entrance.SONNY KISS: What’s up! I’m Sonny, and I’m here to bring the positivity, the energy, and show you all exactly what I’ve got! Sonny’s introduction garners a loud cheer from the crowd. Scarlett Bordeaux then takes the microphone, exuding pure confidence, but before she gets a word out an unexpected theme music blares through the speakers, interrupting the proceedings. The competitors and Dawn Marie turn towards the entrance ramp, surprised and curious about this sudden interruption.OMATASESHIMASHITA! WHO IS THE CUTEST IN THE WORLD?!
On command the WWE Universe responds in time with “ITOH-CHAAAAAN!” as ‘Brooklyn the Hole’ echoes throughout the arena. The camera switches to the entrance ramp where none other than the Cutest in the World herself has emerged. As usual she’s got the cutest mic in the world (you can tell by the big bow with the word ‘KAWAII’ written on it. What’s new is the black t-shirt over her ring gear reading “GET THE F IN” with the F being straight out of the old WWF logo. She does a few cute dance moves, then spins and begins to put on a full fledged idol performance. As the WWE Universe cheers along Maki belts out a proud rendition of her entrance theme.
As she sings she dances her way down the ramp, seemingly unaware that she’s interrupted the debut of Heat Wave. In the ring we see Dawn Marie throwing a tantrum over the whole situation. While Maki sings Dawn flails her arms and does her best to reclaim control of her show. At the bottom of the ramp Maki holds her mic out to invite the WWE Universe to sing the “WHOOAH WHOOAH!” at the beginning of the chorus, which they loudly do. Simultaneously Dawn attempts to cut her off, but the mic doesn’t pick up anything - it’s been cut for Maki’s entrance!
With her blood properly boiling she spikes the mic and yells at the Heat Wave contestants to ‘get that bitch!’. All the contestants share confused glances and shrugs, no one immediately moving in on Maki. Maki meanwhile does a little spin as she finishes the first chorus. At that point Raychell Rose and Renee Michelle roll out of the ring and start to close in on Maki. While neither one seems convinced about listening to Dawn they both want the money and the contract.MAURO RANALLO: It looks like Dawn’s put money on Maki Itoh’s head! Let’s see if one of them can impress her! Maki stops singing when she realizes she’s got company, and instead she motions to the pair to bring it on! Raychell is first on the scene, gritting her teeth as she steels herself to do whatever she has to to get that opportunity of a lifetime. That hesitation is enough for Maki to take the initiative, rushing up to nail Raychell with a nasty headbutt. Raychell collapses like she’s been shot, and then Maki turns just in time to duck a clothesline from Renee Michelle. A quick glance to the side and a smirk crosses her face. Just when Renee rushes in to try and finish the job, Maki boots her in the gut. Renee doubles over and Maki pulls her in by the head - and uses the ringside barrier to hit a tornado DDT to the floor! Renee Michelee is down too and the crowd goes nuts.MAURO RANALLO: Renee fell hard there! Who’s going to stop Maki!? I think the girls know better now… BETH PHOENIX: Dawn really didn’t expect this! She looks furious! In the ring Dawn Marie pulls at her hair, furious that two of her hand picked contestants couldn’t deal with the intruder. Dani Jordyn rolls her eyes. Sonny turns away from Dawn to hide their amused snicker. The gears in Scarlett’s head begin to turn rapidly as the whole scene plays out. Viva stands there awkwardly, wondering when the actual competition is starting. Back outside of the ring Maki raises her mic up and glares right up at Dawn.MAKI ITOH Hey shithead bitch! No one interrupts my performance, especially not an old charisma vacuum like you. Do that again and it’s you I’m knocking the funk out! Maybe I should win your dumbass competition and get that contract myself so I’m breaking wallets on Raw! The very suggestion of this drives Dawn’s anger through the roof, which just makes the crowd’s cheers louder. A chant of “MA-KI! MA-KI! MA-KI!” gets started somewhere in the stands and Maki grins ear to ear. She glances down at the two women who attacked her and shrugs, as if it’s no big deal at all. When Dawn storms over to the ropes Maki steps back and blows her a kiss as a parting gift. She then flips off the host of Heat Wave and heads back up the ramp as ‘Brooklyn the Hole’ plays again. As Maki departs, the camera picks up Dawn shouting at Raychell and Renee.DAWN MARIE: You two are useless, and guess what!? You’re BOTH eliminated! Now, get your sorry asses out of here! ELIMINATED: RAYCHELL ROSE & RENEE MICHELLE CONTESTANTS: DANI JORDYN, SCARLETT BORDEAUX, SONNY KISS, VIVA VAN (4)(Saya Kamitani collab)
