MAURO RANALLO: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the semi-final of Heatwave! If you thought last week was explosive, tonight is set to be an absolute inferno!

BETH PHOENIX: That’s right, Mauro. Last week was a rollercoaster of emotions, especially with Maki Itoh’s shocking elimination. But tonight, it’s all about celebration... or so Dawn Marie thinks.

MAURO RANALLO: With the finale upon us, tensions are sky-high. Dawn Marie declared Scarlett Bordeaux the winner, but something tells me tonight won’t go as smoothly as she planned.

BETH PHOENIX: Absolutely, Mauro. The fans were promised a grand finale at SummerSlam, and they deserve nothing less. Lita was announced as co-host on Raw, but as we saw earlier, she was attacked and left in the same heap as Kyona only two weeks ago. Let’s hope we get some justice and answers on the assaults tonight.

The cameras cut to the ring, where Velvet Sky and Scarlett Bordeaux stand on either side of Dawn Marie, who holds a microphone in her hand. The arena lights dim as the music fades, focusing the crowd’s attention on the trio. Scarlett’s self-assured smirk contrasts with Velvet's cool confidence, while Dawn Marie looks smug in the middle, almost pleased with herself.

DAWN MARIE: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the semi-final of Heatwave! When this competition started, we set out to find the brightest star in the wrestling universe. The journey has been filled with unexpected twists and unforgettable moments. And finally tonight, we celebrate the crowning achievement of one woman who has captured our hearts and proven herself as the ultimate Heatwave winner. Scarlett Bordeaux.

The crowd’s reaction is a mix of cheers and boos, with a clear division among the fans. Some are genuinely thrilled for Scarlett, while others sense something is off.

DAWN MARIE: Now, as many of you know, Lita was announced as the co-host for tonight’s event. However, due to an unfortunate attack earlier this evening, she is unable to join us. Our thoughts are with her, and we hope for a speedy recovery.

At this, Dawn Marie, Scarlett, and Velvet exchange knowing glances before chuckling softly. Their laughter, though restrained, is heard clearly through the microphone, sending a wave of boos cascading through the arena. Dawn Marie’s eyes glint with malice as she continues.

DAWN MARIE: But as they say in show business, the show must go on! And tonight, we honour Scarlett Bordeaux, who has risen above the competition to claim her rightful place as the winner of Heatwave.

Scarlett basks in the spotlight, soaking up the cheers and boos alike, while Velvet nods approvingly beside her.

DAWN MARIE: So let’s make this a night to remember! Scarlett, congratulatio—


Suddenly, ‘Hardcore Country’ blares through the speakers, cutting Dawn Marie off mid-sentence. The lights in the arena dim as spotlights circle around the entrance ramp. The crowd erupts as Mickie James makes her entrance, but this time, it’s grander than ever. Mickie, dressed in a striking leather jacket and cowgirl hat, struts out with purpose, her eyes locked on the trio in the ring as the crowd chants her name.

MAURO RANALLO: Oh my! It’s Mickie James!

BETH PHOENIX: This is unbelievable! What is Mickie doing here!?

As Mickie walks down the ramp, she takes a moment to interact with the fans, slapping hands and soaking in the electric atmosphere. She climbs the steps, entering the ring with a confident smile as she steps through the ropes, grabbing the microphone from Dawn. Dawn Marie, trying to mask her irritation, forces a smile as she watches Mickie make her grand return.

MICKIE JAMES: Hold on just a second! Before I say hello to this beautiful crowd, can we just talk about how it’s a little too convenient that since you and your little posse arrived on Sunday Night Heat, these attacks have been happening? First Kyona, now Lita? Something smells fishy, and it’s not just the catering, Dawn.

The crowd cheers, fully behind Mickie as she continues, her voice laced with determination.

MICKIE JAMES: You girls may have found your way of keeping Lita out of bringing fairness to this competition, but you won’t stop me. And that’s what brings me here. I’m tonights co-host, and there ain’t no way I’m letting these people go without a show, and these talented ladies go down without a fight.

The crowd roars in approval, some beginning a chorus of Mickie’s name as Dawn Marie’s forced smile falters. Velvet and Scarlett begin whispering to each other, visibly upset by Mickie’s sudden appearance.

MICKIE JAMES: So, sticking to Lita’s plan, here’s what we’re going to do. Right here, right now, we’re having a ‘last chance battle royal.’ Every woman in the back who got told the heat was too hot in the kitchen here for them on Heatwave will get their chance again. Come out and win this, and we’ll see you at SummerSlam in the final against Scarlett. Got it?

The crowd is on their feet, chanting for Mickie, clearly excited by this unexpected turn of events. Scarlett, now visibly furious, glares at Mickie, while Dawn Marie and Velvet try to calm her down.

MICKIE JAMES: Honda Center, are you ready!?

The arena shakes with excitement as Mickie drops the mic and steps back, staring down Dawn Marie, Velvet Sky, and Scarlett Bordeaux. The tension is palpable as the anticipation builds for the impromptu battle royal.

MAURO RANALLO: Mama mia! Mickie James has just thrown down the gauntlet! This is going to be one incredible night, Beth!

BETH PHOENIX: You said it, Mauro! Mickie James is here to ensure justice is served with the open challenge, let’s see who steps up.

The official Heatwave theme song, ‘Espresso’ by Sabrina Carpenter, hits the speakers once more, and one by one, the women who were previously eliminated make their way to the ring following each other.

MAURO RANALLO: And here come the competitors! We’ve got Raychell Rose, Viva Van, Sonny Kiss, Dani Jordyn, and Renee Michelle all entering the ring, ready to fight for their chance to be in the final at SummerSlam.

BETH PHOENIX: This is going to be a chaotic and thrilling match, Mauro. Each of these women is hungry for that spot against Scarlett Bordeaux.



The match begins with a flurry of punches and kicks as the women waste no time going at each other. Dani Jordyn and Viva Van immediately lock up, while Sonny Kiss showcases his agility, dodging attacks and delivering a series of high-flying manoeuvres. Renee Michelle focuses on Raychell Rose, who holds her own with fierce strikes.

MAURO RANALLO: And here we go! The bell has rung, and the fight is on!

Raychell Rose is the first to be eliminated after a fierce exchange with Renee Michelle. Renee outmanoeuvres her and tosses her over the top rope with a quick snap suplex, sending Raychell crashing to the floor outside.

DAWN MARIE: Well, would you look at that! One down, plenty more to go!

MICKIE JAMES: Oh, Dawn, don’t get too comfortable. This is far from over.

The action continues as Dani Jordyn gets the upper hand on Viva Van, pushing her against the ropes. With a powerful clothesline, Dani sends Viva Van flying over the top rope, eliminating her from the match. Dawn Marie claps enthusiastically, but Mickie isn’t impressed.

MICKIE JAMES: I guess your girls aren’t as tough as you thought, huh Dawn?


Just as the remaining competitors are about to gang up on Sonny Kiss, ‘Brooklyn The Hole’ suddenly hits the PA system! The crowd erupts as Maki Itoh makes her way to the ring to join the match, performing her song as usual. Maki struts down the ramp, singing along with her entrance theme, her voice echoing through the arena as fans join in. “WOOAHHH! WOOAHHH!” She pauses midway to strike a pose, letting the girls hammer away at each other in the ring as she enters.

BETH PHOENIX: She’s here! What an entrance by Maki Itoh!

DAWN MARIE: The match has already started! This isn’t fair!

MICKIE JAMES: Awww, boohoo. Life isn’t fair. She was also a part of this competition, she has every right to be here.

Maki reaches the ring, and with a playful wink to the camera, she slides in under the bottom rope, immediately slipping through Sonny’s legs and into Dani Jordyn’s hands. Dani grabs hold of Maki’s head and throws her over the top rope on the other side of the ring, but Maki manages to grab the ropes and hold on enough to keep herself in, pulling herself back up. Just as Dani turns around, Renee Michelle capitalises on the distraction and throws Dani over the top rope, sending her rolling over the top of Maki’s now folded body, eliminating her.

MAURO RANALLO: What a move by Renee Michelle! But Maki Itoh is still hanging in there!

Maki’s now back in the ring, eyes locked on Renee. With a fierce scream, Maki charges at Renee with her head down, delivering a battering ram headbutt that sends Renee reeling. Maki follows up with a jumping DDT, knocking Renee out cold. As Renee starts to recover, she stumbles toward the ropes, dazed. Maki wastes no time in reeling in the crowd, bringing the fans with her as she runs in Renee’s path, clotheslining her, sending her back-first over the top rope. Her feet almost hit the outside but it’s Velvet Sky with the save! Velvet Sky, seeing Renee in trouble, tries to come to her rescue. Velvet is there to perform a landing for Renee, with Renee’s foot in her hands she places it back on the outer canvas. That is until Maki catches on to what’s just happened and delivers a brutal headbutt, sending Renee outcold, crash-landing on top of Velvet outside to eliminate her! As Velvet is absolutely livid, Maki flips her off with both hands and returns to the action.

The tension ramps up as Maki and Sonny are left as the final two now. They stare at each other for a moment but then start to engage in a fast-paced sequence, trading blows and countering each other’s move attempts. Just when it looks like Maki is about to eliminate Sonny, they both end up on the outside of the ropes leaving the crowd on the edge of their chairs. Scarlett Bordeaux, out of nowhere, runs in from behind, her head driving down, she aims to Maki Itoh’s mid-section, but she ends up spearing Sonny instead as Maki takes a step back, sending Sonny to the outside – eliminated!



MIKE ROME: Here is your winner, going on to the final of Heatwave 2024… Makiiii Itoooohhh!

MAURO RANALLO: Scarlett Bordeaux just eliminated Sonny! What a twist!

BETH PHOENIX: And look at Maki Itoh! She’s still standing!

‘Brooklyn The Hole’ hits, and the crowd goes wild as she is announced the winner. Scarlett, still in the ring, looks dazed after her plan back-firing spectacularly. Realizing what just happened, Maki hops up and down in place a few times, arms raised in the air. Of course, she can’t help but turn around to flip off the stunned Scarlett while the magnitude of her actions hits hard. As Maki celebrates, Dawn Marie pulls Scarlett from her feet, out of the ring, trying to regroup. Mickie James now joins Maki in the ring, celebrating her victory with her and staring down Dawn Marie with a confident smirk as the final is set.

MAURO RANALLO: What an incredible turn of events! Maki Itoh has secured her spot in the final at SummerSlam!

BETH PHOENIX: This is the kind of excitement we live for, Mauro! The fans got their show, and Maki Itoh got her justice!

MAURO RANALLO: This is just the beginning, Dawn. Maki Itoh and Scarlett Bordeaux at SummerSlam – the true Heatwave finale!

Her other hand is free to flip off the camera, or perhaps someone who might be watching the display. Meanwhile Scarlett, Velvet and Dawn Marie glaring from the outside. The stage is set for an epic showdown at SummerSlam, with the crowd buzzing in anticipation.
